Nanak deejai naam daan raakha-o hee-ai paro-ay. ||55||
O’ God, bless me with the gift of Naam, I may keep it enshrined in my heart, says Nanak.

gurdayv maataa gurdayv pitaa gurdayv su-aamee parmaysuraa.
The Guru is our spiritual mother, father, master and embodiment of God.
معلم مذهبی مادر معنوی، پدر، بزرگتر و تجسم خدا برای ماست.
ਗੁਰਦੇਵ ਸਖਾ ਅਗਿਆਨ ਭੰਜਨੁ ਗੁਰਦੇਵ ਬੰਧਿਪ ਸਹੋਦਰਾ ॥
gurdayv sakhaa agi-aan bhanjan gurdayv banDhip sahodaraa.
The Guru is our companion and the destroyer of ignorance; The Guru is our relative and brother.
معلم مذهبی همراه ما و از بین برنده ی غفلت هاست؛ معلم مذهبی خویشاوند و برادر ماست.

The Guru is the benefactor and the Spiritual teacher; The Guru’s word of wisdom is never ineffective.
معلم مذهبی، معلم معنوی و ولی نعمت ماست. حرف های خردمندانه ی معلم مذهبی هرگز بی تاثیر نیست.
ਗੁਰਦੇਵ ਸਾਂਤਿ ਸਤਿ ਬੁਧਿ ਮੂਰਤਿ ਗੁਰਦੇਵ ਪਾਰਸ ਪਰਸ ਪਰਾ ॥
gurdayv saaNt sat buDh moorat gurdayv paaras paras paraa.
The Guru is the image of peace, truth and wisdom; the Guru’s touch is superior than the touch of paaras (mythical philosopher’s stone).
معلم مذهبی تجسمی از آرامش، صداقت و خرد است؛ لمس معلم مذهبی برتر از لمس پاراس است(سنگ فیلسوف افسانه ای).
ਗੁਰਦੇਵ ਤੀਰਥੁ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਸਰੋਵਰੁ ਗੁਰ ਗਿਆਨ ਮਜਨੁ ਅਪਰੰਪਰਾ ॥
gurdayv tirath amrit sarovar gur gi-aan majan apramparaa.
The Guru is the place of Pilgrimage and the pool of ambrosial nectar; to follow the Guru’s teachings is like the most sublime ablution.
معلم مذهبی مکان زیارت و منبع شهد مطبوع است؛ پیروی از گفته های معلم مذهبی مانند برترین شستشوها است.
ਗੁਰਦੇਵ ਕਰਤਾ ਸਭਿ ਪਾਪ ਹਰਤਾ ਗੁਰਦੇਵ ਪਤਿਤ ਪਵਿਤ ਕਰਾ ॥
gurdayv kartaa sabh paap hartaa gurdayv patit pavit karaa.
The Guru is the embodiment of the Creator and the destroyer of all sins; the Guru is the purifier of the heart of the sinners.
معلم مذهبی تجسم خالق و از بین برنده ی همه ی گناهان است؛ معلم مذهبی خالص کننده قلب گناهکاران است.
ਗੁਰਦੇਵ ਆਦਿ ਜੁਗਾਦਿ ਜੁਗੁ ਜੁਗੁ ਗੁਰਦੇਵ ਮੰਤੁ ਹਰਿ ਜਪਿ ਉਧਰਾ ॥
gurdayv aad jugaad jug jug gurdayv mant har jap uDhraa.
The Guru existed from the beginning of time, through ages upon ages; by remembering the Guru’s Mantra, one is saved from the vices.
معلم مذهبی از ابتدای خلقت و در طول عصرها وجود داشته است؛ با یادآوری گفته های معلم مذهبی فرد از گناهان در امان می ماند.
ਗੁਰਦੇਵ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਮੇਲਿ ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਹਮ ਮੂੜ ਪਾਪੀ ਜਿਤੁ ਲਗਿ ਤਰਾ ॥
gurdayv sangat parabh mayl kar kirpaa ham moorh paapee jit lag taraa.
O’ God, show mercy and unite us with the company of the Guru so that we, the ignorant sinners, may also swim across the world-ocean of vices.
ای خدا، مهربانی و اتحاد با ما را با همراهی معلم مذهبی نشان بده، بنابراین ما گناهکاران غافل ممکن است از دریای بیکران گناهان بگذریم.

O’ Nanak, the Guru is the embodiment of the all pervading God; therefore, we should all bow to the Guru in humble reverence. ||1||
ای نانک، معلم مذهبی تجسم خداوند در همه جا حاضر است؛ بنابراین ما بایدبا احترام و تواضع در برابر معلم مذهبی سر تعظیم فرود آوریم.

I bow to the Primal Guru.
من به معلم مذهبی اول تعظیم می کنم.
ਜੁਗਾਦਿ ਗੁਰਏ ਨਮਹ ॥
jugaad gur-ay namah.
I bow to the Guru who was before the beginning of the ages.
من بع معلم مذهبی تعظیم می کنم که قبل از شروع عصرها بوده است.

I bow to the eternal True Guru.
من به معلم مذهبی ابدی واقعی تعظیم می کنم.

I remember God with loving devotion and by remembering Him at all the time, I experience eternal bliss,
من خدا را با عبادت عاشقانه به خاطر می آورم و به خاطر آوردن او در هر زمانی باعث می شود من سعادت ابدی را تجربه کنم.
ਕਲਿ ਕਲੇਸ ਤਨ ਮਾਹਿ ਮਿਟਾਵਉ ॥
kal kalays tan maahi mitaava-o.
and dispel all worries and anguish that from my mind
و همه ی نگرانی ها و غم ها را از ذهن من دور می کند.
ਸਿਮਰਉ ਜਾਸੁ ਬਿਸੁੰਭਰ ਏਕੈ ॥
simra-o jaas bisumbhar aikai.
I contemplate on the One who preserves the universe.
من به خدایی می اندیشم که کل جهان را حفظ می کند.
ਨਾਮੁ ਜਪਤ ਅਗਨਤ ਅਨੇਕੈ ॥
naam japat agnat anaykai.
Countless peopleremember Him
مردم بیشماری او را در یاد دارند.
ਬੇਦ ਪੁਰਾਨ ਸਿੰਮ੍ਰਿਤਿ ਸੁਧਾਖ੍ਯ੍ਯਰ ॥

The Vedas, the Puranas and the Smritis, the purest of utterances,
ودا، پوراناس و اسمیریت، ناب ترین سخنان،
ਕੀਨੇ ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮ ਇਕ ਆਖ੍ਯ੍ਯਰ ॥
keenay raam naam ik aakh-yar.
have recognized the One, the Name of God to be the most sacred.
کسی ر شناخته اند که نام خداوند را مقدس ترین می داند.
ਕਿਨਕਾ ਏਕ ਜਿਸੁ ਜੀਅ ਬਸਾਵੈ ॥ ਤਾ ਕੀ ਮਹਿਮਾ ਗਨੀ ਨ ਆਵੈ ॥
kinkaa ayk jis jee-a basaavai. taa kee mahimaa ganee na aavai.
That person’s glory cannot be described in whose heart, God instills even an iota of Naam.
شکوه و عظمت کسی را که خداوند در قلب او به صورت حتی ذره ای از نعم نفوذ کرده است نمی توان وصف کرد.
ਕਾਂਖੀ ਏਕੈ ਦਰਸ ਤੁਹਾਰੋ ॥ ਨਾਨਕ ਉਨ ਸੰਗਿ ਮੋਹਿ ਉਧਾਰੋ ॥੧॥
kaaNkhee aikai daras tuhaaro. naanak un sang mohi uDhaaro. ||1||
Nanak says, O’ God, save me along with those who yearn to experience your holy presence.
نانک می گوید، ای خدا، مرا همراه کسانی نگه دار که حضور مقدس تو را تجربه کرده اند.
ਸੁਖਮਨੀ ਸੁਖ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਨਾਮੁ ॥
sukhmanee sukh amrit parabh naam.
The ambrosial Name of God is the crown jewel (the essence) of all peace and bliss,
ناممطبوع خداوند جواهر باشکوهی از آرامش و سعادت است
ਭਗਤ ਜਨਾ ਕੈ ਮਨਿ ਬਿਸ੍ਰਾਮ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
bhagat janaa kai man bisraam. Rahaa-o.
and this nectar- Name of God resides in the hearts of His true devotees. ll pause ll

ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੈ ਸਿਮਰਨਿ ਗਰਭਿ ਨ ਬਸੈ ॥

By remembering God, one is freed from cycle of birth and death.
با یادآوری خداوند، فرد از چرخه ی تولد و مرگ آزاد می شود.
ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੈ ਸਿਮਰਨਿ ਦੂਖੁ ਜਮੁ ਨਸੈ ॥
parabh kai simran dookh jam nasai.
By remembering God, the fear of demon goes away.
با یادآوری خداوند، ترس از شیطان از بین می رود.
ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੈ ਸਿਮਰਨਿ ਕਾਲੁ ਪਰਹਰੈ ॥
parabh kai simran kaal parharai.
By remembering God, the fear of death vanishes.
یا یادآوری خداوند، ترس از مرگ از بین می رود.
ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੈ ਸਿਮਰਨਿ ਦੁਸਮਨੁ ਟਰੈ ॥
parabh kai simran dusman tarai.
Remembering God, one’s vices are eradicated
با یادآوری خداوند گناهان فرد از بین می روند.
ਪ੍ਰਭ ਸਿਮਰਤ ਕਛੁ ਬਿਘਨੁ ਨ ਲਾਗੈ ॥
parabh simrat kachh bighan na laagai.
Remembering God, one meets no obstacles in life.
یادآوری خداوند باعث می شود فرد مانعی در زندگی اش نداشته باشد.
ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੈ ਸਿਮਰਨਿ ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਜਾਗੈ ॥
parabh kai simran an-din jaagai.
By remembering God, one always remains alert from vices and worldly temptations.
با یادآوری خداوند، فرد همواره هشدار گناهان و وسوسه های دنیوی را دریافت می کند.
ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੈ ਸਿਮਰਨਿ ਭਉ ਨ ਬਿਆਪੈ ॥
parabh kai simran bha-o na bi-aapai.
Remembering God, one is not overpowered by fear.
با یادآوری خداوند ترس بر فرد غلبه نمی کند.
ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੈ ਸਿਮਰਨਿ ਦੁਖੁ ਨ ਸੰਤਾਪੈ ॥
parabh kai simran dukh na santaapai.
Remembering God, one does not suffer sorrow.
با یادآوری خداوند، فرد از هیچ غمی رنج نمی برد.
ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕਾ ਸਿਮਰਨੁ ਸਾਧ ਕੈ ਸੰਗਿ ॥
parabh kaa simran saaDh kai sang.
The meditative remembrance of God prevails in the Company of the Holy.
یادآوری امیدبخش خداوند در گروه مقدس شایع می شود.
ਸਰਬ ਨਿਧਾਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਹਰਿ ਰੰਗਿ ॥੨॥
sarab niDhaan naanak har rang. ||2||
O’ Nanak, all treasures of the world are in the Love of God. ||2||
ای نانک، تمام گنج های دنیا در عشق خداوند هستند.
ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੈ ਸਿਮਰਨਿ ਰਿਧਿ ਸਿਧਿ ਨਉ ਨਿਧਿ ॥
parabh kai simran riDh siDh na-o niDh.
In the remembrance of God are the miraculous powers and all the nine treasures of the world.
در یادآوری خداوند قدرت های سری و همه ی نه گنج جهان نهفته است.
ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੈ ਸਿਮਰਨਿ ਗਿਆਨੁ ਧਿਆਨੁ ਤਤੁ ਬੁਧਿ ॥
parabh kai simran gi-aan Dhi-aan tat buDh.
In the remembrance of God are knowledge, meditation and the essence of wisdom.
در یادآوری خداوند دانش، عبادت و ضرورت خرد وجود دارد.
ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੈ ਸਿਮਰਨਿ ਜਪ ਤਪ ਪੂਜਾ ॥
parabh kai simran jap tap poojaa.
In the remembrance of God are chanting, intense meditation and devotional worship.
در یادآوری خداوند مناجات، عبادت شدید و بندگی مخلصانه قرار دارد.
ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੈ ਸਿਮਰਨਿ ਬਿਨਸੈ ਦੂਜਾ ॥
parabh kai simran binsai doojaa.
In the remembrance of God, duality vanishes.
در یادآوری خداوند، دوگانگی از بین می رود.
ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੈ ਸਿਮਰਨਿ ਤੀਰਥ ਇਸਨਾਨੀ ॥
parabh kai simran tirath isnaanee.
In the remembrance of God are purifying baths at sacred shrines of pilgrimage.
در یادآوری خداوند شستشوهای خالص کننده در اماکن مقدس زیارتی وجود دارد.
ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੈ ਸਿਮਰਨਿ ਦਰਗਹ ਮਾਨੀ ॥
parabh kai simran dargeh maanee.
In the remembrance of God, one attains honor in the Court of the God.
در یادآوری خداوند، فرد به عزت در دادگاه عدل الهی دست می یابد.
ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੈ ਸਿਮਰਨਿ ਹੋਇ ਸੁ ਭਲਾ ॥
parabh kai simran ho-ay so bhalaa.
In the remembrance of God, one accepts His will to be good for all.
در یادآوری خداوند، فرد می پذیرد که برای همه خوب باشد.
ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੈ ਸਿਮਰਨਿ ਸੁਫਲ ਫਲਾ ॥
parabh kai simran sufal falaa.
By remembering God, one one succeeds in achieving the supreme goal of life.
با یادآوری خداوند، فرد در دستیابی به هدف ماورایی زندگی موفق می شود.
ਸੇ ਸਿਮਰਹਿ ਜਿਨ ਆਪਿ ਸਿਮਰਾਏ ॥
say simrahi jin aap simraa-ay.
They alone remember Him in meditation, whom He inspires to do so.
آنها ههگی او را عبادتی به یاد می اورند که خودش الهام کرده است.
