ਗੁਰ ਪੂਰੇ ਤੇ ਪਾਇਆ ਜਾਈ ॥ gur pooray tay paa-i-aa jaa-ee. which can only be received from the perfect Guru. ਇਹ ਨਾਮ ਪੂਰੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਪਾਸੋਂ ਹੀ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ। ਨਾਮਿ ਰਤੇ ਸਦਾ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਈ ॥ naam ratay sadaa sukh paa-ee. By being imbued with the love of God’s Name, one always enjoys peace, ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ (ਦੇ ਪਿਆਰ-ਰੰਗ)
ਪਰਪੰਚ ਵੇਖਿ ਰਹਿਆ ਵਿਸਮਾਦੁ ॥ parpanch vaykh rahi-aa vismaad. Looking at the expanse of the world, a devotee of God goes into ecstasy, ਗੁਰਮੁਖ ਇਹ ਜਗਤ-ਖਿਲਾਰਾ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ ‘ਵਾਹ ਵਾਹ’ ਕਰ ਉੱਠਦਾ ਹੈ, ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਪਾਈਐ ਨਾਮ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦੁ ॥੩॥ gurmukh paa-ee-ai naam parsaad. ||3|| but the gift of God’s Name is received only by following the
ਨਦਰਿ ਕਰੇ ਚੂਕੈ ਅਭਿਮਾਨੁ ॥ nadar karay chookai abhimaan. One upon whom God bestows His gracious glance, his ego vanishes, ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਉੱਤੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਮਿਹਰ ਦੀ ਨਿਗਾਹ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰੋਂ ਅਹੰਕਾਰ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਸਾਚੀ ਦਰਗਹ ਪਾਵੈ ਮਾਨੁ ॥ saachee dargeh paavai maan. and he receives honor in God’s presence. ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ
ਜਿਨ ਕਉ ਤਖਤਿ ਮਿਲੈ ਵਡਿਆਈ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਸੇ ਪਰਧਾਨ ਕੀਏ ॥ jin ka-o takhat milai vadi-aa-ee gurmukh say parDhaan kee-ay. Those who are blessed with the glory of a seat on God’s throne (Realization of God), they are rendered supreme by the Guru’s grace. ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਰਾਜ ਸਿੰਘਾਸਨ ਤੇ ਟਿਕਾਣਾ ਮਿਲਣ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰਭਤਾ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ
ਕਾਹੇ ਕਲਰਾ ਸਿੰਚਹੁ ਜਨਮੁ ਗਵਾਵਹੁ ॥ kaahay kalraa sinchahu janam gavaavahu. O’ Brahmin, why are you wasting your human birth by performing useless deeds like watering a saline land? ਹੇ ਬ੍ਰਾਹਮਣ!ਤੂੰ ਆਪਣਾ ਜਨਮ (ਵਿਅਰਥ) ਗਵਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈਂ। (ਤੇਰਾ ਇਹ ਉੱਦਮ ਇਉਂ ਹੀ ਹੈ ਜਿਵੇਂ ਕੋਈ ਕਿਸਾਨ ਕਲਰਾਠੀ ਧਰਤੀ ਨੂੰ ਪਾਣੀ ਦੇਈ ਜਾਏ, ਕੱਲਰ ਵਿਚ ਫ਼ਸਲ
