ਨਾਨਕ ਕਉ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਕੀਜੈ ਨੇਤ੍ਰ ਦੇਖਹਿ ਦਰਸੁ ਤੇਰਾ ॥੧॥ naanak ka-o parabh kirpaa keejai naytar daykheh daras tayraa. ||1|| O’ God, bestow mercy on Nanak that his spiritually enlightened eyes may always keep beholding Your blessed Vision. ||1|| ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਨਾਨਕ ਉੱਤੇ ਮਿਹਰ ਕਰ, (ਨਾਨਕ ਦੀਆਂ) ਅੱਖਾਂ (ਹਰ ਥਾਂ) ਤੇਰਾ ਹੀ ਦਰਸਨ ਕਰਦੀਆਂ ਰਹਿਣ
ਜੈ ਜਗਦੀਸ ਕੀ ਗਤਿ ਨਹੀ ਜਾਣੀ ॥੩॥ jai jagdees kee gat nahee jaanee. ||3|| but you have never experienced the state of spiritual bliss possible only by singing the praises of the victorious God. ||3|| ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤਿ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਦੇ ਆਤਮਕ ਆਨੰਦ ਦੀ ਅਵਸਥਾ ਤੂੰ (ਹੁਣ ਤਕ) ਸਮਝੀ ਹੀ ਨਹੀਂ ॥੩॥ ਸਰਣਿ ਸਮਰਥ ਅਗੋਚਰ ਸੁਆਮੀ ॥
ਮਿਟੇ ਅੰਧਾਰੇ ਤਜੇ ਬਿਕਾਰੇ ਠਾਕੁਰ ਸਿਉ ਮਨੁ ਮਾਨਾ ॥ mitay anDhaaray tajay bikaaray thaakur si-o man maanaa. The soul-bride whose mind is appeased with the Master-God, renounces vices and the darkness of her spiritual ignorance goes away. ਜਿਸ ਜੀਵ-ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ ਦਾ ਮਨ ਮਾਲਕ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨਾਲ ਗਿੱਝ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਸਾਰੇ ਵਿਕਾਰ ਤਿਆਗ ਦੇਂਦੀ ਹੈ, ਅਗਿਆਨਤਾ ਦੇ ਹਨੇਰੇ
ਹੋਇ ਰੇਣ ਸਾਧੂ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਅਰਾਧੂ ਆਪਣੇ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਭਾਵਾ ॥ ho-ay rayn saaDhoo parabh araaDhoo aapnay parabh bhaavaa. Those who humbly follow the Guru’s teachings and remember God with loving devotion, become pleasing to Him. ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਚਰਨ-ਧੂੜ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਆਰਾਧਨ ਕਰਦੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਆਪਣੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਲੱਗਣ ਲੱਗ
ਮੇਰੈ ਮਨਿ ਤਨਿ ਲੋਚਾ ਗੁਰਮੁਖੇ ਰਾਮ ਰਾਜਿਆ ਹਰਿ ਸਰਧਾ ਸੇਜ ਵਿਛਾਈ ॥ mayrai man tan lochaa gurmukhay raam raaji-aa har sarDhaa sayj vichhaa-ee. O’ my sovereign king, through the Guru’s teachings, a yearning to realize You has welled up in my mind and heart and I have opened up my heart with faith. ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਪਾਤਿਸ਼ਾਹ!
ਹਰਿ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤਿ ਭਰੇ ਭੰਡਾਰ ਸਭੁ ਕਿਛੁ ਹੈ ਘਰਿ ਤਿਸ ਕੈ ਬਲਿ ਰਾਮ ਜੀਉ ॥ har amrit bharay bhandaar sabh kichh hai ghar tis kai bal raam jee-o. I am dedicated to the reverend God; His treasures are overflowing with the ambrosial nectar of Naam and He has everything to take care of His creation. ਮੈਂ
ਮਃ ੫ ॥ mehlaa 5. Fifth Guru: ਘਟਿ ਵਸਹਿ ਚਰਣਾਰਬਿੰਦ ਰਸਨਾ ਜਪੈ ਗੁਪਾਲ ॥ ghat vaseh charnaarbind rasnaa japai gupaal. In whose heart is enshrined the immaculate Name of God, and whose tongue meditates on the Master of the earth. ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਚਰਨ ਕਮਲ ਵੱਸਦੇ ਹਨ ਤੇ ਜੀਭ ਹਰੀ ਨੂੰ
ਜਿਨਾ ਆਪੇ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਦੇ ਵਡਿਆਈ ਸੇ ਜਨ ਸਚੀ ਦਰਗਹਿ ਜਾਣੇ ॥੧੧॥ jinaa aapay gurmukh day vadi-aa-ee say jan sachee dargahi jaanay. ||11|| Those Guru’s followers, whom You bless with greatness, are honored in Your presence. ||11|| ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪ ਆਦਰ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈਂ, ਉਹ ਸੱਚੀ ਦਰਗਾਹ ਵਿਚ ਪਰਗਟ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੧੧॥ ਸਲੋਕੁ ਮਰਦਾਨਾ ੧
