ਸਿਰੀਰਾਗੁ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥ sireeraag mehlaa 5. Siree Raag, by the Fifth Guru: ਭਲਕੇ ਉਠਿ ਪਪੋਲੀਐ ਵਿਣੁ ਬੁਝੇ ਮੁਗਧ ਅਜਾਣਿ ॥ bhalkay uth papolee-ai vin bujhay mugaDh ajaan. Getting up each morning you pamper your body, but without understanding the true purpose of life, you remain thoughtless and ignorant. ਹਰ ਰੋਜ਼ ਉੱਦਮ ਨਾਲ ਇਸ ਸਰੀਰ
ਓਨੀ ਚਲਣੁ ਸਦਾ ਨਿਹਾਲਿਆ ਹਰਿ ਖਰਚੁ ਲੀਆ ਪਤਿ ਪਾਇ ॥ onee chalan sadaa nihaali-aa har kharach lee-aa pat paa-ay. They keep death constantly before their eyes; they gather the wealth of God’s Name, and receive honor (in this world and in God’s court). ਉਹਨਾਂ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਨੇ (ਜਗਤ ਤੋਂ ਆਖ਼ਰ) ਚਲੇ ਜਾਣ ਨੂੰ ਸਦਾ (ਸਾਹਮਣੇ) ਵੇਖਿਆ
ਇਕਿ ਕੂੜਿ ਲਾਗੇ ਕੂੜੇ ਫਲ ਪਾਏ ॥ ik koorh laagay koorhay fal paa-ay. Some are stuck in falsehood, and false are the rewards they receive. ਕਈ ਝੂਠ ਨਾਲ ਜੁੜੇ ਹੋਏ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਝੂਠੀਆਂ ਮੁਰਾਦਾਂ ਹੀ ਉਹ ਹਾਸਲ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ। ਦੂਜੈ ਭਾਇ ਬਿਰਥਾ ਜਨਮੁ ਗਵਾਏ ॥ doojai bhaa-ay birthaa janam gavaa-ay. In love with duality, they
ਹਉ ਵਾਰੀ ਜੀਉ ਵਾਰੀ ਨਾਮੁ ਸੁਣਿ ਮੰਨਿ ਵਸਾਵਣਿਆ ॥ha-o vaaree jee-o vaaree naam sun man vasaavani-aa.I dedicate myself to those, who listen and enshrine Naam in their mind.ਮੈਂ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਸਦਾ ਕੁਰਬਾਨ ਸਦਕੇ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ, ਜੇਹੜੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸੁਣ ਕੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਵਸਾਈ ਰੱਖਦੇ ਹਨ। ਹਰਿ ਜੀਉ ਸਚਾ ਊਚੋ ਊਚਾ ਹਉਮੈ ਮਾਰਿ
ਸਹਸ ਸਿਆਣਪ ਕਰਿ ਰਹੇ ਮਨਿ ਕੋਰੈ ਰੰਗੁ ਨ ਹੋਇ ॥ sahas si-aanap kar rahay man korai rang na ho-ay. By trying thousands of other clever techniques, the raw and unimpressionable mind does not embrace any Divine Love. (ਤਪ ਆਦਿਕ ਵਾਲੀਆਂ) ਹਜ਼ਾਰਾਂ ਸਿਆਣਪਾਂ (ਜੇਹੜੇ ਲੋਕ) ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ (ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਮਨ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਵਲੋਂ ਕੋਰਾ ਹੀ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ,
ਤਿਨ ਕੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਧਰਮ ਰਾਇ ਕਰੈ ਧੰਨੁ ਸਵਾਰਣਹਾਰੁ ॥੨॥ tin kee sayvaa Dharam raa-ay karai Dhan savaaranhaar. ||2|| Great is the Almighty who blesses those spiritual beings and they are honored by the Almighty Himself. ਧੰਨ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਜੋ ਆਪਣੇ ਸੇਵਕਾਂ ਦਾ ਜੀਵਨ ਇਤਨਾ ਸੋਹਣਾ ਬਣਾ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਧਰਮਰਾਜ ਭੀ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਆਦਰ
