ਹੀਣੌ ਨੀਚੁ ਬੁਰੌ ਬੁਰਿਆਰੁ ॥ heenou neech burou buri-aar. he lacks spiritual life, wretched and vilest of the vile. ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਤੋਂ ਸੱਖਣਾ ਹੈ। ਨੀਵੇਂ ਪਾਸੇ ਜਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ, ਮੰਦਿਆਂ ਤੋਂ ਮੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਨੀਧਨ ਕੌ ਧਨੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਪਿਆਰੁ ॥ neeDhan kou Dhan naam pi-aar. Love for God’s Name is the true wealth for the destitutes,
ਆਪੇ ਖੇਲ ਕਰੇ ਸਭ ਕਰਤਾ ਐਸਾ ਬੂਝੈ ਕੋਈ ॥੩॥ aapay khayl karay sabh kartaa aisaa boojhai ko-ee. ||3|| but only a rare person understands that the Creator-God Himself executes all His worldly plays. ||3|| ਰਾਹੇ ਪੈਣ ਜਾਂ ਕੁਰਾਹੇ ਪੈਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਸਾਰਾ ਹੀ ਤਮਾਸ਼ਾ ਕਰਤਾਰ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਕਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ-ਇਹ ਭੇਤ ਭੀ ਕੋਈ ਵਿਰਲਾ ਬੰਦਾ ਹੀ
ਦੂਖਾ ਤੇ ਸੁਖ ਊਪਜਹਿ ਸੂਖੀ ਹੋਵਹਿ ਦੂਖ ॥ dookhaa tay sukh oopjahi sookhee hoveh dookh. ੴ ਸਤਿਨਾਮੁ ਕਰਤਾ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਨਿਰਭਉ ਨਿਰਵੈਰੁ ਅਕਾਲ ਮੂਰਤਿ ਅਜੂਨੀ ਸੈਭੰ ਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ॥ ik-oNkaar satnaam kartaa purakh nirbha-o nirvair akaal moorat ajoonee saibhaN gur parsaad. There is only one God whose Name is ‘of eternal existence’. He is the creator of the universe, all-pervading, without fear, without enmity, independent of time, beyond the cycle of
ਤਨਿ ਮਨਿ ਸਾਂਤਿ ਹੋਇ ਅਧਿਕਾਈ ਰੋਗੁ ਕਾਟੈ ਸੂਖਿ ਸਵੀਜੈ ॥੩॥ tan man saaNt ho-aya Dhikaa-ee rog kaatai sookh saveejai. ||3|| so that their body and mind may become immensely peaceful; the Guru’s word eradicates every affliction and they remain immersed in inner peace. ||3|| (ਤਾ ਕਿ) ਤਨ ਵਿਚ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਬਹੁਤ ਸ਼ਾਂਤੀ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੋ ਜਾਏ।
ਮਹਾ ਅਭਾਗ ਅਭਾਗ ਹੈ ਜਿਨ ਕੇ ਤਿਨ ਸਾਧੂ ਧੂਰਿ ਨ ਪੀਜੈ ॥ mahaa abhaag abhaag hai jin kay tin saaDhoo Dhoor na peejai. Extremely unfortunate are those who do not get the dust of the feet (humble service and teachings) of the saintly people. ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਦੇ ਬਹੁਤ ਹੀ ਮੰਦੇ ਭਾਗ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ
