ਮਿਲਿ ਸਤਸੰਗਤਿ ਪਰਮ ਪਦੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਮੈ ਹਿਰਡ ਪਲਾਸ ਸੰਗਿ ਹਰਿ ਬੁਹੀਆ ॥੧॥ mil satsangat param pad paa-i-aa mai hirad palaas sang har buhee-aa. ||1|| I have received the supreme spiritual status by associating with saints, similar to useless plants like Hirad and Plass becoming fragrant by growing near Sandal tree. ||1|| ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਵਿਚ ਮਿਲ
ਸਾਚਾ ਨਾਮੁ ਸਾਚੈ ਸਬਦਿ ਜਾਨੈ ॥ saachaa naam saachai sabad jaanai. One who realizes the eternal God by reflecting on the Guru’s divine word, ਜਿਹੜਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਹਰੀ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤਿ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ ਨਾਲ ਡੂੰਘੀ ਸਾਂਝ ਪਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਆਪੈ ਆਪੁ ਮਿਲੈ ਚੂਕੈ ਅਭਿਮਾਨੈ ॥ aapai aap milai chookai abhimaanai. his egotistical pride
ਬਿਲਾਵਲੁ ਮਹਲਾ ੧ ॥ bilaaval mehlaa 1. Raag Bilaaval, First Guru: ਮਨ ਕਾ ਕਹਿਆ ਮਨਸਾ ਕਰੈ ॥ man kaa kahi-aa mansaa karai. The intellect of a person without Naam acts according to the wishes of the mind, (ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਨਾਮ ਤੋਂ ਖੁੰਝੇ ਹੋਏ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੀ) ਬੁੱਧੀ (ਭੀ) ਮਨ ਦੇ ਕਹੇ ਵਿਚ ਤੁਰਦੀ ਹੈ, ਇਹੁ ਮਨੁ ਪੁੰਨੁ ਪਾਪੁ
ਜੋਗ ਜਗ ਨਿਹਫਲ ਤਿਹ ਮਾਨਉ ਜੋ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਜਸੁ ਬਿਸਰਾਵੈ ॥੧॥ jog jag nihfal tih maan-o jo parabh jas bisraavai. ||1|| One forsakes singing praises of God, deem all his yogic efforts and sacrificial feasts as fruitless ||1|| ਜੇਹੜਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤਿ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਭੁਲਾ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਮੰਨ ਲੈ ਕਿ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਜੋਗ-ਸਾਧਨ ਅਤੇ ਜੱਗ ਸਭ ਵਿਅਰਥ
ਅਨਿਕ ਭਗਤ ਅਨਿਕ ਜਨ ਤਾਰੇ ਸਿਮਰਹਿ ਅਨਿਕ ਮੁਨੀ ॥ anik bhagat anik jan taaray simrahi anik munee. O’ God! You have ferried across the worldly ocean of vices, those innumerable devotees and sages who lovingly remember You. ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਹੀ ਭਗਤ, ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਹੀ ਰਿਸ਼ੀ ਮੁਨੀ ਤੇਰਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਦੇ ਹਨ। (ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ) ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਹੀ

O’ God! never forsake Your devotee. ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ!ਆਪਣੇ ਸੇਵਕ ਨੂੰ ਕਦੇ ਭੀ ਨਾਹ ਭੁਲਾਈਂ। ਉਰਿ ਲਾਗਹੁ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਮੇਰੇ ਪੂਰਬ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਬੀਚਾਰਹੁ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ ur laagahu su-aamee parabh mayray
ਤੁਮ੍ਹ੍ਹ ਸਮਰਥਾ ਕਾਰਨ ਕਰਨ ॥ tumH samrathaa kaaran karan. O’ God! You are the all powerful cause of all causes, ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭ! ਤੂੰ ਸਭ ਤਾਕਤਾਂ ਦਾ ਮਾਲਕ ਹੈਂ, ਤੂੰ ਜਗਤ ਦਾ ਰਚਨਹਾਰ ਹੈਂ, ਢਾਕਨ ਢਾਕਿ ਗੋਬਿਦ ਗੁਰ ਮੇਰੇ ਮੋਹਿ ਅਪਰਾਧੀ ਸਰਨ ਚਰਨ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ dhaakan dhaak gobid gur mayray mohi apraaDhee saran charan. ||1||
ਸਹੀ ਸਲਾਮਤਿ ਮਿਲਿ ਘਰਿ ਆਏ ਨਿੰਦਕ ਕੇ ਮੁਖ ਹੋਏ ਕਾਲ ॥ sahee salaamat mil ghar aa-ay nindak kay mukh ho-ay kaal. By following the Guru’s teachings, the devotees of God along with their intact spiritual wealth remain imbued with Naam within their heart; their slanderers are put to shame. ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਸੇਵਕ ਗੁਰੂ-ਚਰਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਮਿਲ
