ਜਿਨ ਚਾਖਿਆ ਸੇਈ ਸਾਦੁ ਜਾਣਨਿ ਜਿਉ ਗੁੰਗੇ ਮਿਠਿਆਈ ॥ jin chaakhi-aa say-ee saad jaanan ji-o gungay mithi-aa-ee. Only those who have relished the nectar of God’s Naam know its taste, but they cannot describe it just as a dumb person cannot describe the taste of sweets. ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੇ (ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਰਸ) ਚੱਖਿਆ
ਅੰਤਿ ਸੰਗ ਕਾਹੂ ਨਹੀ ਦੀਨਾ ਬਿਰਥਾ ਆਪੁ ਬੰਧਾਇਆ ॥੧॥ ant sang kaahoo nahee deenaa birthaa aap banDhaa-i-aa. ||1|| None of these worldly things have accompanied anyone in the end, and you haveunnecessarily entrapped yourself in these worldly bonds. ||1|| ਦੁਨੀਆ ਦੇ ਪਦਾਰਥਾਂ ਨੇ ਆਖ਼ਰ ਕਿਸੇ ਦਾ ਸਾਥ ਨਹੀਂ ਦਿੱਤਾ। ਤੂੰ ਵਿਅਰਥ ਹੀ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਨੂੰ
ਅਪਨੇ ਗੁਰ ਊਪਰਿ ਕੁਰਬਾਨੁ ॥ apnay gur oopar kurbaan. I am dedicated to my Guru, ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਤੋਂ ਸਦਕੇ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ, ਭਏ ਕਿਰਪਾਲ ਪੂਰਨ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਦਾਤੇ ਜੀਅ ਹੋਏ ਮਿਹਰਵਾਨ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ bha-ay kirpaal pooran parabh daatay jee-a ho-ay miharvaan. rahaa-o. because of whom the all pervading God, the great bestower, has become merciful
ਸਭ ਜੀਅ ਤੇਰੇ ਦਇਆਲਾ ॥ sabh jee-a tayray da-i-aalaa. O’ my Merciful God, all beings have been created by You, ਹੇ ਦਇਆ ਦੇ ਘਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਸਾਰੇ ਜੀਵ ਤੇਰੇ ਪੈਦਾ ਕੀਤੇ ਹੋਏ ਹਨ, ਅਪਨੇ ਭਗਤ ਕਰਹਿ ਪ੍ਰਤਿਪਾਲਾ ॥ apnay bhagat karahi partipaalaa. You cherish Your devotees. ਤੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਭਗਤਾਂ ਦੀ ਰਖਵਾਲੀ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈਂ। ਅਚਰਜੁ
ਗੁਰੁ ਪੂਰਾ ਆਰਾਧੇ ॥ gur pooraa aaraaDhay. Those who contemplated on the Perfect Guru’s teachings, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਨੇ ਪੂਰੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ ਧਿਆਨ ਧਰਿਆ, ਕਾਰਜ ਸਗਲੇ ਸਾਧੇ ॥ kaaraj saglay saaDhay. they successfully resolve all their affairs. ਉਹਨਾਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਕੰਮ ਸਵਾਰ ਲਏ। ਸਗਲ ਮਨੋਰਥ ਪੂਰੇ ॥ sagal manorath pooray. All their wishes are fulfilled, ਉਹਨਾਂ
ਸੰਤਹੁ ਸੁਖੁ ਹੋਆ ਸਭ ਥਾਈ ॥ santahu sukh ho-aa sabh thaa-ee. O’ saints, that person feels peace everywhere, ਹੇ ਸੰਤ ਜਨੋ! ਉਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਸਭ ਥਾਵਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਸੁਖ ਹੀ ਪ੍ਰਤੀਤ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ਪੂਰਨ ਪਰਮੇਸਰੁ ਰਵਿ ਰਹਿਆ ਸਭਨੀ ਜਾਈ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ paarbarahm pooran parmaysar rav rahi-aa sabhnee jaa-ee. rahaa-o. who realizes the perfect supreme
ਜਿ ਕਰਾਵੈ ਸੋ ਕਰਣਾ ॥ je karaavai so karnaa. We can do only whatever You make us do. ਅਸੀਂ ਜੀਵ ਉਹੀ ਕੁਝ ਕਰ ਸਕਦੇ ਹਾਂ ਜੋ ਕੁਝ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਸਾਥੋਂ ਕਰਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਨਾਨਕ ਦਾਸ ਤੇਰੀ ਸਰਣਾ ॥੨॥੭॥੭੧॥ naanak daas tayree sarnaa. ||2||7||71|| Nanak says, O’ God, Your devotees remain in Your refuge.||2||7||71|| ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਸੁਖ ਸਾਗਰੁ ਗੁਰੁ ਪਾਇਆ ॥ sukh saagar gur paa-i-aa. When a person met the Guru, the ocean of spiritual peace, ਜਦੋਂ ਕਿਸੇ ਵਡ-ਭਾਗੀ ਨੂੰ) ਸੁਖਾਂ ਦਾ ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਗੁਰੂ ਮਿਲ ਪਿਆ, ਤਾ ਸਹਸਾ ਸਗਲ ਮਿਟਾਇਆ ॥੧॥ taa sahsaa sagal mitaa-i-aa. ||1|| then the Guru dispelled all his dread. ||1|| ਤਦੋਂਗੁਰੂਨੇ ਉਸਦਾ ਸਾਰਾ ਸਹਿਮਦੂਰ ਕਰ ਦਿਤਾ ॥੧॥
