ਆਸਾ ਮਹਲਾ ੪ ॥ aasaa mehlaa 4. Raag Aasaa, Fourth Guru: ਸੋ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਨਿਰੰਜਨੁ ਹਰਿ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਨਿਰੰਜਨੁ ਹਰਿ ਅਗਮਾ ਅਗਮ ਅਪਾਰਾ ॥ so purakh niranjan har purakh niranjan har agmaa agam apaaraa. That all pervading God is immaculate (free from the influence of worldly attachments), is incomprehensible, inaccessible and limitless. ਉਹ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਸਭ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਵਿਚ
ੴ ਸਤਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਕਰਤਾ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਨਿਰਭਉ ਨਿਰਵੈਰੁ ਅਕਾਲ ਮੂਰਤਿ ਅਜੂਨੀ ਸੈਭੰ ਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ॥ ik-oNkaar sat naam kartaa purakh nirbha-o nirvair akaal moorat ajoonee saibhaN gur parsaad. There is only one God whose Name is ‘of eternal existence’. He is the creator of the universe, all-pervading, without fear, without enmity, independent of time, beyond the
ਜੁਗੁ ਜੁਗੁ ਜੀਵਹੁ ਅਮਰ ਫਲ ਖਾਹੁ ॥੧੦॥ jug jug jeevhu amar fal khaahu. ||10|| the reward of these efforts will be everlasting and you would live a long spiritually fulfilled life. ||10|| (ਇਸ ਮਿਹਨਤ ਦਾ) ਐਸਾ ਫਲ ਮਿਲੇਗਾ ਜੋ ਕਦੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਮੁੱਕੇਗਾ, ਐਸਾ ਸੁੰਦਰ ਜੀਵਨ ਜੀਵੋਗੇ ਜੋ ਸਦਾ ਕਾਇਮ ਰਹੇਗਾ ॥੧੦॥ ਦਸਮੀ ਦਹ ਦਿਸ ਹੋਇ
ਬਾਵਨ ਅਖਰ ਜੋਰੇ ਆਨਿ ॥ baavan akhar joray aan. Combining these fifty two letters, the world has written many books, (ਜਗਤ ਨੇ)ਬਵੰਜਾ ਅੱਖਰ ਵਰਤ ਕੇ ਪੁਸਤਕਾਂ ਤਾਂ ਲਿਖ ਦਿੱਤੀਆਂ ਹਨ, ਸਕਿਆ ਨ ਅਖਰੁ ਏਕੁ ਪਛਾਨਿ ॥ saki-aa na akhar ayk pachhaan. but through these letters the world has not been able to recognize God. ਪਰ
ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਹਿਰਦੈ ਪਵਿਤ੍ਰੁ ਪਾਵਨੁ ਇਹੁ ਸਰੀਰੁ ਤਉ ਸਰਣੀ ॥੭॥ har naam hirdai pavitar paavan ih sareer ta-o sarnee. ||7|| Naam, the most pure and sacred, is within my heart; this body is Your Sanctuary, O’ God. ||7|| ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਪਵਿਤ੍ਰ ਨਾਮ ਆਪਣੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ (ਰੱਖ ਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਅੱਗੇ ਇਉਂ ਅਰਦਾਸ ਕਰ-ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ!) ਮੇਰਾ ਇਹ
ਨਾਨਕ ਸਾ ਧਨ ਮਿਲੈ ਮਿਲਾਈ ਪਿਰੁ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਸਦਾ ਸਮਾਲੇ ॥ naanak saa Dhan milai milaa-ee pir antar sadaa samaalay. O’ Nanak, that soul-bride who is always imbued with Spouse-God within her, gets to unite with God because of Guru’s grace. ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਜੇਹੜੀ ਜੀਵ-ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ (ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ) ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਪਤੀ ਨੂੰ ਸਦਾ ਆਪਣੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਵਸਾਈ
ਆਪੁ ਛੋਡਿ ਸੇਵਾ ਕਰੀ ਪਿਰੁ ਸਚੜਾ ਮਿਲੈ ਸਹਜਿ ਸੁਭਾਏ ॥ aap chhod sayvaa karee pir sachrhaa milai sahj subhaa-ay. They reply that when we serve and remember Him after abandoning our self-conceit, the True Spouse-God Himself comes to meet us naturally. ਆਪਾ-ਭਾਵ ਤਿਆਗ ਕੇ ਮੈਂ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਕਰਦੀ ਹਾਂ। ਸਦਾ ਕਾਇਮ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਪਤੀ
ਬਾਬਾ ਆਵਹੁ ਭਾਈਹੋ ਗਲਿ ਮਿਲਹ ਮਿਲਿ ਮਿਲਿ ਦੇਹ ਆਸੀਸਾ ਹੇ ॥ baabaa aavhu bhaa-eeho gal milah mil mil dayh aaseesaa hay. Come, O’ my brothers and sisters, let us embrace each other and joining together, let us extend blessings to the departed soul, and pray for its union with God. ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਹੇ ਭਰਾਵੋ! ਆਓ,
