ਸਾਚਿ ਸਹਜਿ ਸੋਭਾ ਘਣੀ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਣ ਨਾਮ ਅਧਾਰਿ ॥ saach sahj sobhaa ghanee har gun naam aDhaar. By making God’s Name as their main support, they will be able to obtain truth, tranquility and great glory in God’s court. ਹਰੀ-ਨਾਮ ਦੇ ਆਸਰੇ ਨਾਲ ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਵਿਚ (ਜੁੜਿਆਂ) ਅਡੋਲ ਅਵਸਥਾ ਵਿਚ (ਟਿਕਿਆਂ) ਬੜੀ ਸੋਭਾ (ਭੀ ਮਿਲਦੀ
ਗਉੜੀ ਮਹਲਾ ੧ ॥ ga-orhee mehlaa 1. Raag Gauree, by the First Guru: ਗੁਰ ਪਰਸਾਦੀ ਬੂਝਿ ਲੇ ਤਉ ਹੋਇ ਨਿਬੇਰਾ ॥ gur parsaadee boojh lay ta-o ho-ay nibayraa. The strife in your mind due to worldly illusions would end only if by Guru’s grace we understand, (ਹੇ ਭਾਈ!) ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਭਾਵ ਤੋਂ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੋਏ ਆਤਮਕ
ਸਾਹਿਬੁ ਅਤੁਲੁ ਨ ਤੋਲੀਐ ਕਥਨਿ ਨ ਪਾਇਆ ਜਾਇ ॥੫॥ saahib atul na tolee-ai kathan na paa-i-aa jaa-ay. ||5|| God is unassessable, cannot be assessed and cannot be realized by mere talks. ਉਸ ਮਾਲਕ (ਦੀ ਹਸਤੀ) ਨੂੰ ਤੋਲਿਆ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ, ਉਹ ਤੋਲ ਤੋਂ ਪਰੇ ਹੈ l ਉਹ ਨਿਰੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਮਿਲਦਾ l ਵਾਪਾਰੀ ਵਣਜਾਰਿਆ
ਖੁੰਢਾ ਅੰਦਰਿ ਰਖਿ ਕੈ ਦੇਨਿ ਸੁ ਮਲ ਸਜਾਇ ॥ khundhaa andar rakh kai dayn so mal sajaa-ay. Then placing it between the wooden rollers of the crusher, the farmers crush it (as if they are punishing it) and extract the juice. ਫਿਰ ਵੇਲਣੇ ਦੀਆਂ ਲੱਠਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਰੱਖ ਕੇ ਭਲਵਾਨ (ਜ਼ਿਮੀਦਾਰ) ਇਸ ਨੂੰ (ਮਾਨੋ) ਸਜ਼ਾ ਦੇਂਦੇ
ਤ੍ਰਿਭਵਣਿ ਸੋ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਜਾਣੀਐ ਸਾਚੋ ਸਾਚੈ ਨਾਇ ॥੫॥ taribhavan so parabh jaanee-ai saacho saachai naa-ay. ||5|| O’ Soul-bride, by meditating on the true Name of God, it is realized that He is pervading in all the three worlds. ਹੇ ਜੀਵ-ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ! ਜੇ ਸੱਚੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਵਿਚ ਜੁੜੇ ਰਹੀਏ, ਤਾਂ ਉਸ ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਤਿੰਨਾਂ ਭਵਨਾਂ
