ਅਸਟਪਦੀ ॥ asatpadee. Ashtapadee: اسٹپدی ਜਹ ਮਾਤ ਪਿਤਾ ਸੁਤ ਮੀਤ ਨ ਭਾਈ ॥ jah maat pitaa sut meet na bhaa-ee. Where there is no mother, father, children, friends or siblings to help you. ਜਿਥੇ ਮਾਂ, ਪਿਉ, ਪੁੱਤਰ, ਮਿੱਤ੍ਰ, ਭਰਾ ਕੋਈ (ਸਾਥੀ) ਨਹੀਂ (ਬਣਦਾ), جہماتپِتا سُتمیِتنبھائی جیہہ ۔ جہاں۔ مراد زندگی کے سفر میں۔ ست۔ فرزند۔
ਨਾਨਕ ਤਾ ਕੈ ਲਾਗਉ ਪਾਏ ॥੩॥ naanak taa kai laaga-o paa-ay. ||3|| O’ Nanak, I humbly bow to those who remember God ||3|| ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਮੈਂ ਉਹਨਾਂ (ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਿਆਂ) ਦੀ ਪੈਰੀਂ ਲੱਗਾਂ نانکتاکےَلاگءُپاۓ لاگو پائے ۔ پاؤں۔ پڑؤ۔ اے نانک ان کے پاؤںمیں پڑو ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕਾ ਸਿਮਰਨੁ ਸਭ ਤੇ ਊਚਾ ॥ parabh kaa simran
ਨਾਨਕ ਦੀਜੈ ਨਾਮ ਦਾਨੁ ਰਾਖਉ ਹੀਐ ਪਰੋਇ ॥੫੫॥ Nanak deejai naam daan raakha-o hee-ai paro-ay. ||55|| O’ God, bless me with the gift of Naam, I may keep it enshrined in my heart, says Nanak. ਮੈਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਦਾਨ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼, (ਇਹ ਦਾਨ) ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਪ੍ਰੋ ਕੇ ਰੱਖਾਂ نانکدیِجےَنامدانُ راکھءُہیِۓَپرۄءِ اے خدایا مجھے
ਓਰੈ ਕਛੂ ਨ ਕਿਨਹੂ ਕੀਆ ॥ orai kachhoo na kinhoo kee-aa. In this world, no one accomplishes anything by himself. اورےَکچھوُنکِنہوُکیِیا॥ ۔خدا کے سوا کوئی دوسرا کچھ کرنے والا نہیں ਨਾਨਕ ਸਭੁ ਕਛੁ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਤੇ ਹੂਆ ॥੫੧॥ naanak sabh kachh parabh tay hoo-aa. ||51|| O’ Nanak, everything is done by God. ||51|| نانکسبھُکچھُپ٘ربھتےہوُیا اے نانک۔
ਨਾਨਕ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਜੋ ਕਹਤਾ ॥੪੬॥ naanak har har gurmukh jo kahtaa. ||46|| O Nanak, one who becomes Gurmukh and chants the Name of the Lord, Har, Har. ||46|| O’ Nanak, one who becomes Guru’s follower and recites Naam. نانکہرِہرِگُرمُکھِجوکہتا ۔ اے نانک جو کوئی بھی الہٰی حمدوثناہ کرتا ہے ۔ ਸਲੋਕੁ ॥ salok.

ਤ੍ਰਾਸ ਮਿਟੈ ਜਮ ਪੰਥ ਕੀ ਜਾਸੁ ਬਸੈ ਮਨਿ ਨਾਉ ॥ taraas mitai jam panth kee jaas basai man naa-o. One whose heart is filled with the Naam shall have no fear on the path of death.۔ ت٘راسمِٹےَجمپنّتھکیِجاسُبسےَمنِناءُ ۔ تراس۔ خوف۔ جسم پنتھ۔ موت کا راستہ۔ جاس۔ جکا۔ ناوں۔ نام دل میں الہٰی نام بس جانے
ਪਉੜੀ ॥ pa-orhee. Pauree: ਠਠਾ ਮਨੂਆ ਠਾਹਹਿ ਨਾਹੀ ॥ thathaa manoo-aa thaaheh naahee. T’HAT’HA: They do not make trouble for anyone’s mind, They do not hurt anyone’s feelings for worldly goods. ٹھٹھامنوُیاٹھاہہِناہیِ ٹھاہے ۔ گراتا نہیں۔۔ جو انسان کسی کے دل کو ایذا نہیں پہنچاتے ਜੋ ਸਗਲ ਤਿਆਗਿ ਏਕਹਿ ਲਪਟਾਹੀ ॥ jo sagal ti-aag aykeh
ਅਪਨੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਕਰਹੁ ਭਗਵੰਤਾ ॥ apnee kirpaa karahu bhagvantaa. Please shower me with Your Mercy, O’ God! اپنیِک٘رِپاکرہُبھگۄنّتا॥ بھگونتا ۔ اے خدا۔ اے خدا مجھ پر اپنی رحمت فرما ਛਾਡਿ ਸਿਆਨਪ ਬਹੁ ਚਤੁਰਾਈ ॥ chhaad si-aanap baho chaturaa-ee.
