ਹਮ ਤੁਮ ਸੰਗਿ ਝੂਠੇ ਸਭਿ ਬੋਲਾ ॥ ham tum sang jhoothay sabh bolaa. but all the talks about me and you to be together are false utterances. ਸੰਸਾਰੀ ਸਾਥੀਆਂ ਨਾਲ (ਸਾਥ ਨਿਬਾਹੁਣ ਵਾਲੇ) ਸਾਰੇ ਬੋਲ ਝੂਠ ਹੀ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ। ਪਾਇ ਠਗਉਰੀ ਆਪਿ ਭੁਲਾਇਓ ॥ paa-ay thag-uree aap bhulaa-i-o. People get astrayed by getting engrossed
ਕਿਤੀ ਚਖਉ ਸਾਡੜੇ ਕਿਤੀ ਵੇਸ ਕਰੇਉ ॥ kitee chakha-o saadrhay kitee vays karay-o. No matter how many delicious dishes I may taste, and no matter how many expensive dresses I may wear, ਜੇ ਮੈਂ ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਹੀ ਸੁਆਦਲੇ ਖਾਣੇ ਖਾਂਦੀ ਰਹਾਂ, ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਹੀ ਸੋਹਣੇ ਪਹਿਰਾਵੇ ਕਰਦੀ ਰਹਾਂ, ਪਿਰ ਬਿਨੁ ਜੋਬਨੁ ਬਾਦਿ ਗਇਅਮੁ ਵਾਢੀ ਝੂਰੇਦੀ ਝੂਰੇਉ ॥੫॥
ਲਾਗੀ ਭੂਖ ਮਾਇਆ ਮਗੁ ਜੋਹੈ ਮੁਕਤਿ ਪਦਾਰਥੁ ਮੋਹਿ ਖਰੇ ॥੩॥ laagee bhookh maa-i-aa mag johai mukat padaarath mohi kharay. ||3|| Driven by greed for Maya, one keeps looking for ways to acquire it, and swayed by worldly attachments, loses sight of liberation from vices. ||3|| ਸਦਾ ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੀ ਭੁੱਖ ਹੀ ਚੰਬੜੀ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ,
ਅੰਤਰਿ ਅਗਨਿ ਨ ਗੁਰ ਬਿਨੁ ਬੂਝੈ ਬਾਹਰਿ ਪੂਅਰ ਤਾਪੈ ॥ antar agan na gur bin boojhai baahar poo-ar taapai.
