ਜਮ ਕਾ ਡੰਡੁ ਮੂੰਡ ਮਹਿ ਲਾਗੈ ਖਿਨ ਮਹਿ ਕਰੈ ਨਿਬੇਰਾ ॥੩॥ jam kaa dand moond meh laagai khin meh karai nibayraa. ||3|| But when the demon of death strikes the head, everything is settled in an instant (that the wealth doesn’t belong to the mortal at all).||3|| (ਪਰ ਜਿਸ ਵੇਲੇ) ਜਮ ਦਾ ਡੰਡਾ ਸਿਰ ਤੇ
ਤੇਲ ਜਲੇ ਬਾਤੀ ਠਹਰਾਨੀ ਸੂੰਨਾ ਮੰਦਰੁ ਹੋਈ ॥੧॥ tayl jalay baatee thehraanee soonnaa mandar ho-ee. ||1|| In a lamp, when the oil is all burnt (used up) and the wick is extinguished, the house becomes dark. ਤੰਤ ਮੰਤ੍ਰ ਸਭ ਅਉਖਧ ਜਾਨਹਿ ਅੰਤਿ ਤਊ ਮਰਨਾ ॥੨॥ tant mantar sabh a-ukhaDh jaaneh ant ta-oo marnaa. ||2|| and those who know all kinds of charms, mantras, and herbal concoctions, all are in the cycle of birth and death. ||2| ਜੋ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਜਾਦੂ ਟੂਣੇ ਮੰਤ੍ਰ ਤੇ ਦਵਾਈਆਂ ਜਾਣਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਭੀ ਜਨਮ ਮਰਨ ਦਾ
ਆਸਾ ॥ aasaa. Aasaa: ਗਜ ਸਾਢੇ ਤੈ ਤੈ ਧੋਤੀਆ ਤਿਹਰੇ ਪਾਇਨਿ ਤਗ ॥ gaj saadhay tai tai Dhotee-aa tihray paa-in tag. They wear three and a half yard long loincloths, and triple-wound sacred threads, (ਜੋ ਮਨੁੱਖ) ਸਾਢੇ ਤਿੰਨ ਤਿੰਨ ਗਜ਼ (ਲੰਮੀਆਂ) ਧੋਤੀਆਂ (ਪਹਿਨਦੇ, ਅਤੇ) ਤਿਹਰੀਆਂ ਤੰਦਾਂ ਵਾਲੇ ਜਨੇਊ ਪਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ॥ ਗਲੀ ਜਿਨ੍ਹ੍ਹਾ ਜਪਮਾਲੀਆ ਲੋਟੇ ਹਥਿ
