ਜਿਨਿ ਗੁਰਿ ਮੋ ਕਉ ਦੀਨਾ ਜੀਉ ॥ jin gur mo ka-o deenaa jee-o. That Guru who has blessed me with spiritual life, Guru huyo ambaye amenibariki na maisha ya kiroho, ਆਪੁਨਾ ਦਾਸਰਾ ਆਪੇ ਮੁਲਿ ਲੀਉ ॥੬॥ aapunaa daasraa aapay mul lee-o. ||6|| and has taken me into his service and accepted me as his disciple.
ਜਿਤੁ ਕੋ ਲਾਇਆ ਤਿਤ ਹੀ ਲਾਗਾ ॥ jit ko laa-i-aa tit hee laagaa. Everyone does the task to which one has been assigned by God. Kila mtu anafanya kazi ambayo ameteuliwa kufanya na Mungu. ਸੋ ਸੇਵਕੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਜਿਸੁ ਭਾਗਾ ॥੮॥੬॥ so sayvak naanak jis bhaagaa. ||8||6|| O’ Nanak, only that person becomes God’s devotee who
ਜੋ ਇਸੁ ਮਾਰੇ ਤਿਸ ਕਉ ਭਉ ਨਾਹਿ ॥ jo is maaray tis ka-o bha-o naahi. One who conquers this sense of duality does not fear anyone. Yule anayetawala hisi hii ya uwili haogopi yeyote. ਜੋ ਇਸੁ ਮਾਰੇ ਸੁ ਨਾਮਿ ਸਮਾਹਿ ॥ jo is maaray so naam samaahi. One who kills this duality merges in Naam.
