ਐਸਾ ਤੈਂ ਜਗੁ ਭਰਮਿ ਲਾਇਆ ॥ aisaa taiN jag bharam laa-i-aa. O’ God, You have cast the world into such a deep delusion. (ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ!) ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਤੂੰ ਜਗਤ ਨੂੰ ਭੁਲੇਖੇ ਵਿਚ ਪਾਇਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ। ایَساتیَںجگُبھرمِلائِیا॥ اس طرح خدا نےایک عالم کو بھول میں ڈال رکھا ہے ਕੈਸੇ ਬੂਝੈ ਜਬ ਮੋਹਿਆ ਹੈ ਮਾਇਆ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ
ਹਰਿ ਭਗਤਾ ਨੋ ਦੇਇ ਅਨੰਦੁ ਥਿਰੁ ਘਰੀ ਬਹਾਲਿਅਨੁ ॥ har bhagtaa no day-ay anand thir gharee bahaali-an. God bestows bliss upon the devotees, and blesses them with eternal peace. (ਭਗਤਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਭਜਨ ਦਾ) ਅਨੰਦ (ਭੀ) ਆਪ ਹੀ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ਦਾ ਹੈ (ਤੇ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ) ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਅਡੋਲ ਟਿਕਾ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਹੈ। ہرِبھگتانودےءِاننّدُتھِرُگھریِبہالِئنُ॥ بہالین ۔ بہالے
ਮਃ ੩ ॥ mehlaa 3. By the Third Guru: محلا 3 ਸਬਦਿ ਰਤੀ ਸੋਹਾਗਣੀ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਭਾਇ ਪਿਆਰਿ ॥ sabad ratee sohaaganee satgur kai bhaa-ay pi-aar. The person who is imbued with the love for the Guru’s word is like a happily wedded wife, ਜੋ ਗੁਰਬਾਣੀ ਨਾਲ ਰੰਗੀਜੀ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਸੱਚੇ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਤੇ
ਜਿਨ ਕਉ ਹੋਆ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਲੁ ਹਰਿ ਸੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪੈਰੀ ਪਾਹੀ ॥ jin ka-o ho-aa kirpaal har say satgur pairee paahee. Only they surrender themselves to the true Guru upon whom God becomes Gracious. ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਭੀ ਉਹੀ ਲੱਗਦੇ ਹਨ, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਉਤੇ ਹਰੀ ਆਪ ਤੁੱਠਦਾ ਹੈ। جِنکءُہویاک٘رِپالُہرِسےستِگُرپیَریِپاہیِ॥ جن پر خدا نے کرم و عنایت فرمائی انہیں
ਸਲੋਕੁ ਮਃ ੩ ॥ salok mehlaa 3. Shalok, by the Third Guru: سلوکُم ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਸੇਵੇ ਆਪਣਾ ਸੋ ਸਿਰੁ ਲੇਖੈ ਲਾਇ ॥ satgur sayvay aapnaa so sir laykhai laa-ay. They who follow the true Guru’s teachings accomplish the goal of human life. ਜਿਹੜਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਆਪਣੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਦੱਸੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਆਪਣਾ ਸਿਰ (ਭਾਵ,
ਗੁਰਮਤੀ ਜਮੁ ਜੋਹਿ ਨ ਸਾਕੈ ਸਾਚੈ ਨਾਮਿ ਸਮਾਇਆ ॥ gurmatee jam johi na saakai saachai naam samaa-i-aa. Even the demon (fear) of death cannot touch them because they are absorbed in God’s Name through the Guru’s teachings. ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਮਤਿ ਤੇ ਤੁਰਨ ਦੇ ਕਾਰਨ ਜਮ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਘੂਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਕਦਾ, (ਕਿਉਂਕਿ) ਸੱਚੇ ਨਾਮ ਵਿਚ ਉਹਨਾਂ
ਮਃ ੩ ॥ mehlaa 3. By the Third Guru: ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਸੇਵਿ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਸਚੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਗੁਣਤਾਸੁ ॥ satgur sayv sukh paa-i-aa sach naam guntaas. One who has followed the teachings of the true Guru, has obtained peace and realized God, the Treasure of virtues. (ਜਿਸ ਨੇ) ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਦੱਸੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੈ (ਉਸ ਨੂੰ) ਗੁਣਾਂ
ਨਾਨਕ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਉਬਰੇ ਸਾਚਾ ਨਾਮੁ ਸਮਾਲਿ ॥੧॥ naanak gurmukh ubray saachaa naam samaal. ||1|| O’ Nanak, the Guru’s followers are saved from the spiritual death, by meditating on God’s Name with loving devotion. ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਮਨਮੁਖ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਸਾਂਭ ਕੇ ਆਤਮਕ ਮੌਤ ਤੋਂ ਬਚੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ
