ਧਰਮੁ ਕਰਾਏ ਕਰਮ ਧੁਰਹੁ ਫੁਰਮਾਇਆ ॥੩॥ Dharam karaa-ay karam Dharahu furmaa-i-aa. ||3|| This is also as per God’s command that the judge of righteousness keeps the account of the good and bad deeds of people. ||3|| (ਇਹ ਭੀ) ਧੁਰੋਂ (ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਹੀ) ਫ਼ੁਰਮਾਨ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਧਰਮ ਰਾਜ (ਜੀਵਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਚੰਗੇ ਮੰਦੇ) ਕੰਮ ਕਰਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ
ਮਨਮੁਖ ਦੂਜੀ ਤਰਫ ਹੈ ਵੇਖਹੁ ਨਦਰਿ ਨਿਹਾਲਿ ॥ manmukh doojee taraf hai vaykhhu nadar nihaal. If we see carefully, it becomes apparent that the self-willed person‘s life is opposite to the life of the Guru’s follower. ਪਰ, ਗਹੁ ਨਾਲ ਤੱਕ ਕੇ ਵੇਖੋ, ਮਨ ਦੇ ਪਿੱਛੇ ਤੁਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦਾ ਦੂਜਾ ਪਾਸਾ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ (ਭਾਵ, ਉਸ
ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਸਬਦਿ ਰਹਿਆ ਭਰਪੂਰਿ ॥੭॥ gur kai sabad rahi-aa bharpoor. ||7|| and through the Guru’s word, they envision God pervading everywhere. ||7|| ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਉਹ ਹਰ ਥਾਂ ਵਿਆਪਕ ਦਿੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੭॥ ਆਪੇ ਬਖਸੇ ਦੇਇ ਪਿਆਰੁ ॥ aapay bakhsay day-ay pi-aar. ਕਾਗਦ ਕੋਟੁ ਇਹੁ ਜਗੁ ਹੈ ਬਪੁਰੋ ਰੰਗਨਿ ਚਿਹਨ ਚਤੁਰਾਈ ॥ kaagad kot ih jag hai bapuro rangan chihan chaturaa-ee. This poor world is like a fortress of paper which God has wisely shaped and embellished. ਇਹ ਜਗਤ ਵਿਚਾਰਾ (ਮਾਨੋ) ਕਾਗ਼ਜ਼ਾਂ ਦਾ ਕਿਲ੍ਹਾ ਹੈ ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ (ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੀ) ਸਿਆਣਪ ਨਾਲ ਸਜਾਵਟ ਤੇ ਰੂਪ-ਰੇਖਾ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਹੋਈ
ਮਨਿ ਫੇਰਤੇ ਹਰਿ ਸੰਗਿ ਸੰਗੀਆ ॥ man fayrtay har sang sangee-aa. in their heart, become permanent companions of God. ਆਪਣੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਫੇਰਦੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ (ਟਿਕੇ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲੇ) ਸਾਥੀ ਬਣ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ। ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਪ੍ਰਿਉ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮੁ ਥੀਆ ॥੨॥੧॥੨੩॥ jan naanak pari-o pareetam thee-aa. ||2||1||23|| O’ Nanak, God becomes their beloved. ||2||1||23||
