ਪਉੜੀ ॥ pa-orhee. Pauree: ਦੋਵੈ ਤਰਫਾ ਉਪਾਈਓਨੁ ਵਿਚਿ ਸਕਤਿ ਸਿਵ ਵਾਸਾ ॥ dovai tarfaa opaa-ee-on vich sakat siv vaasaa. God Himself has created both paths (the Guru’s followers and the followers of one’s own mind) and the mind usually dwells amidst the materialism. ਦੋਵੇਂ ਰਾਹ (ਗੁਰਮੁਖਾਂ ਵਾਲਾ ਤੇ ਮਨਮੁਖਾਂ ਵਾਲਾ) ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਬਣਾਏ
ਆਪੇ ਸ੍ਰਿਸਟਿ ਸਭ ਸਾਜੀਅਨੁ ਆਪੇ ਵਰਤੀਜੈ ॥ aapay sarisat sabh saajee-an aapay varteejai. God Himself has created this world and He Himself pervades in it. ਉਸ ਨੇ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਸਾਰੀ ਸ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟੀ ਬਣਾਈ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਇਸ ਵਿਚ ਹਰ ਥਾਂ ਮੌਜੂਦ ਹੈ। ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਸਦਾ ਸਲਾਹੀਐ ਸਚੁ ਕੀਮਤਿ ਕੀਜੈ ॥ gurmukh sadaa salaahee-ai sach keemat keejai.
ਗੁਣ ਤੇ ਗੁਣ ਮਿਲਿ ਪਾਈਐ ਜੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਮਾਹਿ ਸਮਾਇ ॥ gun tay gun mil paa-ee-ai jay satgur maahi samaa-ay. If one merges in the true Guru (follows his teachings) and sings God’s virtues then he receives the virtuous Name of God. ਜੇ ਕੋਈ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਵਿਚ ਲੀਨ ਹੋ ਜਾਏ ਤਾਂ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਂਵਿਆਂ, ਪ੍ਰਭੂ
ਸਾਧਸੰਗਿ ਭਜੁ ਅਚੁਤ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਦਰਗਹ ਸੋਭਾ ਪਾਵਣਾ ॥੩॥ saaDhsang bhaj achut su-aamee dargeh sobhaa paavnaa. ||3|| Contemplate on the imperishable God in company of the Guru, and become worthy of honor in God’s presence. ||3|| ਉਸ ਅਬਿਨਾਸ਼ੀ ਮਾਲਕ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸੰਗਤ ਵਿਚ (ਰਹਿ ਕੇ) ਜਪਿਆ ਕਰ। ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਹਜ਼ੂਰੀ ਵਿਚ (ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ) ਇੱਜ਼ਤ
ਮਿਰਤ ਲੋਕ ਪਇਆਲ ਸਮੀਪਤ ਅਸਥਿਰ ਥਾਨੁ ਜਿਸੁ ਹੈ ਅਭਗਾ ॥੧੨॥ mirat lok pa-i-aal sameepat asthir thaan jis hai abhgaa. ||12|| God is pervading the creatures of the mortal world and the nether world; His abode is eternal which can never be destroyed. ||12|| ਮਾਤ ਲੋਕ ਵਿਚ, ਪਤਾਲ ਵਿਚ (ਸਭ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦੇ) ਨੇੜੇ ਹੈ। ਉਸ ਦਾ
ਆਪੇ ਸੂਰਾ ਅਮਰੁ ਚਲਾਇਆ ॥ aapay sooraa amar chalaa-i-aa. Being extremely brave, God Himself is exercising His command. ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਸੂਰਮਾ ਹੋ ਕੇ (ਸਾਰੇ ਜਗਤ ਵਿਚ) ਹੁਕਮ ਚਲਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ। ਆਪੇ ਸਿਵ ਵਰਤਾਈਅਨੁ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਆਪੇ ਸੀਤਲੁ ਠਾਰੁ ਗੜਾ ॥੧੩॥ aapay siv vartaa-ee-an antar aapay seetal thaar garhaa. ||13|| God Himself infuses peace and
