ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਸਾਚਾ ਸਬਦਿ ਪਛਾਤਾ ॥ gurmukh saachaa sabad pachhaataa. One who followed the Guru’s teachings and through the divine world realized the eternal God, ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪੈ ਕੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨਾਲ ਸਾਂਝ ਪਾ ਲਈ, ਨਾ ਤਿਸੁ ਕੁਟੰਬੁ ਨਾ ਤਿਸੁ ਮਾਤਾ ॥ naa tis kutamb naa tis
ਮਾਇਆ ਮੋਹਿ ਸੁਧਿ ਨ ਕਾਈ ॥ maa-i-aa mohi suDh na kaa-ee. and has no awareness of this mistake because of his love for materialism. ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਮੋਹ ਦੇ ਕਾਰਨ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਰਤਾ ਭਰ ਭੀ (ਇਸ ਗ਼ਲਤੀ ਦੀ) ਸੂਝ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦੀ। ਮਨਮੁਖ ਅੰਧੇ ਕਿਛੂ ਨ ਸੂਝੈ ਗੁਰਮਤਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਪ੍ਰਗਾਸੀ ਹੇ ॥੧੪॥ manmukh anDhay kichhoo na soojhai
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਗਿਆਨੁ ਏਕੋ ਹੈ ਜਾਤਾ ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਰਵੀਜੈ ਹੇ ॥੧੩॥ gurmukh gi-aan ayko hai jaataa an-din naam raveejai hay. ||13|| The only wisdom for the Guru’s follower is that he knows God and always lovingly remembers Him. ||13|| ਗੁਰਮੁਖ ਲਈ ਗਿਆਨ ਇਹੋ ਹੈ, ਕਿ ਉਹ ਕੇਵਲ ਇਕ ਹਰੀ ਨੂੰ ਜਾਣਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਹਰ ਰੋਜ਼ ਨਾਮ
ਏਕੋ ਅਮਰੁ ਏਕਾ ਪਤਿਸਾਹੀ ਜੁਗੁ ਜੁਗੁ ਸਿਰਿ ਕਾਰ ਬਣਾਈ ਹੇ ॥੧॥ ayko amar aykaa patisaahee jug jug sir kaar banaa-ee hay. ||1|| Throughout the entire universe there is only one reign and one command of God; age after age God has been assigning everyone to their tasks. ||1|| ਉਸੇ ਦਾ ਹੀ (ਜਗਤ ਵਿਚ) ਹੁਕਮ ਚੱਲ
ਗਿਆਨੀ ਧਿਆਨੀ ਆਖਿ ਸੁਣਾਏ ॥ gi-aanee Dhi-aanee aakh sunaa-ay. This is what the men of divine wisdom and who practice meditation tell others. ਸਿਆਣੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਤੇ ਸਮਾਧੀਆਂ ਲਾਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਭੀ (ਇਹੀ ਗੱਲ) ਆਖ ਕੇ ਸੁਣਾ ਗਏ ਹਨ। ਸਭਨਾ ਰਿਜਕੁ ਸਮਾਹੇ ਆਪੇ ਕੀਮਤਿ ਹੋਰ ਨ ਹੋਈ ਹੇ ॥੨॥ sabhnaa rijak samaahay aapay keemat hor na ho-ee
ਆਪੇ ਮੇਲੇ ਦੇ ਵਡਿਆਈ ॥ aapay maylay day vadi-aa-ee. God Himself unites one with the Guru and bestows glory on him, ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪ ਹੀ (ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਗੁਰੂ ਨਾਲ) ਮਿਲਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਇੱਜ਼ਤ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ਦਾ ਹੈ। ਗੁਰ ਪਰਸਾਦੀ ਕੀਮਤਿ ਪਾਈ ॥ gur parsaadee keemat paa-ee. and through the Guru’s grace, he realizes the value of human life.
ਮੋਹ ਪਸਾਰ ਨਹੀ ਸੰਗਿ ਬੇਲੀ ਬਿਨੁ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਰ ਕਿਨਿ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਇਆ ॥੪॥ moh pasaar nahee sang baylee bin har gur kin sukh paa-i-aa. ||4|| The worldly love does not become anybody’s friend; who has ever attained inner peace without lovingly remembering God through the Guru’s teachings. ||4|| ਜਗਤ ਦੇ ਮੋਹ ਦੇ ਖਿਲਾਰੇ ਕਿਸੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ
