ਮਲੁ ਕੂੜੀ ਨਾਮਿ ਉਤਾਰੀਅਨੁ ਜਪਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਹੋਆ ਸਚਿਆਰੁ ॥ mal koorhee naam utaaree-an jap naam ho-aa sachiaar. Because by meditating on God’s Name, that person has washed off the filth of falsehood and has become a truthful person. ਕੂੜੇ ਪਦਾਰਥਾਂ (ਦੇ ਮੋਹ) ਦੀ ਮੈਲ ਉਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਉਤਾਰ ਲਈ ਹੈ,
ਜਿਉ ਬੈਸੰਤਰਿ ਧਾਤੁ ਸੁਧੁ ਹੋਇ ਤਿਉ ਹਰਿ ਕਾ ਭਉ ਦੁਰਮਤਿ ਮੈਲੁ ਗਵਾਇ ॥ ji-o baisantar Dhaat suDh ho-ay ti-o har kaa bha-o durmat mail gavaa-ay. Just as upon putting in fire, a metal becomes pure, similarly the revered fear of God dispels the dirt of evil intellect. ਜਿਵੇਂ ਅੱਗ ਵਿਚ ਪਾਇਆਂ ਸੋਨਾ ਆਦਿਕ ਧਾਤ ਸਾਫ਼
ਗੁਰਮਤੀ ਘਟਿ ਚਾਨਣਾ ਆਨੇਰੁ ਬਿਨਾਸਣਿ ॥ gurmatee ghat chaannaa aanayr binaasan. and to destroy the darkness of ignorance, He instilled the divine light in every heart through the Guru’s teachings. ਅਤੇ ਅਗਿਆਨਤਾ ਦਾ ਹਨੇਰਾ ਨਾਸ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਮੱਤ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ (ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ) ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਗਿਆਨ ਦਾ ਚਾਨਣ ਪੈਦਾ ਕੀਤਾਹੈ l ਹੁਕਮੇ ਹੀ ਸਭ
ੴ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ॥ ik-oNkaar satgur parsaad. One eternal God, realized by the grace of the True Guru: ਅਕਾਲ ਪੁਰਖ ਇੱਕ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ। ਰਾਮਕਲੀ ਕੀ ਵਾਰ ਮਹਲਾ ੩ ॥ raamkalee kee vaar mehlaa 3. Vaar of (Raag) Raamkalee, Third Guru, ਜੋਧੈ ਵੀਰੈ ਪੂਰਬਾਣੀ ਕੀ ਧੁਨੀ ॥ joDhai veerai poorbaanee
ਬਿਨੁ ਸਬਦੈ ਰਸੁ ਨ ਆਵੈ ਅਉਧੂ ਹਉਮੈ ਪਿਆਸ ਨ ਜਾਈ ॥ bin sabdai ras na aavai a-oDhoo ha-umai pi-aas na jaa-ee. O’ yogi, the breath (spiritual life) does not get sustenance without the Guru’s word and the yearning for ego does not go away. ਹੇ ਜੋਗੀ! ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾਂ (ਪ੍ਰਾਣਾਂ ਨੂੰ) ਰਸ ਨਹੀਂ
ਬਿਦਿਆ ਸੋਧੈ ਤਤੁ ਲਹੈ ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਇ ॥ bidi-aa soDhai tat lahai raam naam liv laa-ay. By reflecting on the knowledge, he realizes the essence of reality and focuses his mind on God’s Name. ਉਹ ਵਿੱਦਿਆ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਅਸਲੇ ਦੀ ਵਿਚਾਰ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਅਤੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਨਾਲ ਸੁਰਤ ਜੋੜਦਾ ਹੈ। ਮਨਮੁਖੁ ਬਿਦਿਆ ਬਿਕ੍ਰਦਾ
