ਅਖੰਡ ਮੰਡਲ ਨਿਰੰਕਾਰ ਮਹਿ ਅਨਹਦ ਬੇਨੁ ਬਜਾਵਉਗੋ ॥੧॥ akhand mandal nirankaar meh anhad bayn bajaav-ogo. ||1|| Because, sitting in the imperishable region of the formless God, I play the flute producing continuous divine music. ||1|| ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਮੈਂ ਅਵਿਨਾਸ਼ੀ ਟਿਕਾਣੇ ਵਾਲੇ ਨਿਰੰਕਾਰ ਵਿਚ ਜੁੜ ਕੇ (ਉਸ ਦੇ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਦੀ) ਇੱਕ-ਰਸ ਬੰਸਰੀ ਵਜਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹਾਂ ॥੧॥ اکھنّڈمنّڈلنِرنّکارمہِانہدبینُبجاۄئُگو॥੧॥
ਜਬ ਨਖ ਸਿਖ ਇਹੁ ਮਨੁ ਚੀਨ੍ਹ੍ਹਾ ॥ jab nakh sikh ih man cheenHaa. When I came to understand this mind of mine completely, ਹੁਣ ਜਦੋਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਇਸ ਮਨ ਨੂੰ ਚੰਗੀ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਜਾਣ ਲਿਆ, جبنکھسِکھاِہُمنُچیِن٘ہ٘ہا॥ ۔ نکھ سکھ ۔ نا خن سے لیکر سرتک۔ ایہہ من چینا۔ اس من کی اصلیت یا حقیقت کو سمجھا۔ اور
ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਹਮ ਐਸੇ ਅਪਰਾਧੀ ॥ gobind ham aisay apraaDhee. O’ God, we are such sinners, ਹੇ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ! ਅਸੀਂ ਜੀਵ ਅਜਿਹੇ ਵਿਕਾਰੀ ਹਾਂ, گوبِنّدہمایَسےاپرادھیِ॥ اپرادھی ۔ گناہگار ۔ اے خدا ہم ایسے گناہگار ہیں ਜਿਨਿ ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਜੀਉ ਪਿੰਡੁ ਥਾ ਦੀਆ ਤਿਸ ਕੀ ਭਾਉ ਭਗਤਿ ਨਹੀ ਸਾਧੀ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ jin parabh jee-o pind thaa dee-aa tis
ਪੂਰਬ ਜਨਮ ਹਮ ਤੁਮ੍ਹ੍ਹਰੇ ਸੇਵਕ ਅਬ ਤਉ ਮਿਟਿਆ ਨ ਜਾਈ ॥ poorab janam ham tumHray sayvak ab ta-o miti-aa na jaa-ee. O’ God! I was Your devotee in past births and I cannot leave You even now. ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਮੈਂ ਤਾਂ ਪਹਿਲੇ ਜਨਮਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਭੀ ਤੇਰਾ ਹੀ ਸੇਵਕ ਰਿਹਾ ਹਾਂ, ਹੁਣ ਭੀ ਤੇਰੇ ਦਰ ਤੋਂ
ਤ੍ਰਿਸਨਾ ਕਾਮੁ ਕ੍ਰੋਧੁ ਮਦ ਮਤਸਰ ਕਾਟਿ ਕਾਟਿ ਕਸੁ ਦੀਨੁ ਰੇ ॥੧॥ tarisnaa kaam kroDh mad matsar kaat kaat kas deen ray. ||1|| I chop off my worldly desire, lust, pride, and jealousy into small pieces and add these to the vat in place of yeast. ||1|| ਤ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨਾ, ਕਾਮ, ਕ੍ਰੋਧ, ਹੰਕਾਰ ਤੇ ਈਰਖਾ ਨੂੰ ਕੱਟ ਕੱਟ
ਸੋ ਟਿਕਾ ਸੋ ਬੈਹਣਾ ਸੋਈ ਦੀਬਾਣੁ ॥ ਪਿਯੂ ਦਾਦੇ ਜੇਵਿਹਾ ਪੋਤਾ ਪਰਵਾਣੁ ॥ so tikaa so baihnaa so-ee deebaan.piyoo daaday jayvihaa potaa parvaan. Just like the spiritual father and grandfather, the grandson, Guru Amar das is an accepted Guru, he bears the same ceremonial mark and occupies the same throne in the same holy congregation.
