ਲੰਗਰੁ ਚਲੈ ਗੁਰ ਸਬਦਿ ਹਰਿ ਤੋਟਿ ਨ ਆਵੀ ਖਟੀਐ ॥ langar chalai gur sabad har tot na aavee khatee-ai. God’s Name is being preached through the Guru’s word to all, as if free food is served; still no loss is noticed in the Guru’s earnings of the wealth of Naam. ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ
ਧੰਨੁ ਸੁ ਤੇਰੇ ਭਗਤ ਜਿਨ੍ਹ੍ਹੀ ਸਚੁ ਤੂੰ ਡਿਠਾ ॥ Dhan so tayray bhagat jinHee sach tooN dithaa. and blessed are those devotees of Yours, who have gotten a glimpse of You. ਤੇਰੇ ਉਹ ਭਗਤ ਭਾਗਾਂ ਵਾਲੇ ਹਨ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਤੇਰਾ ਦੀਦਾਰ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ। دھنّنُسُتیرےبھگتجِن٘ہ٘ہیِسچُتوُنّڈِٹھا॥ ۔ دٹھا۔ بستا ہے ۔ سچ ۔ حقیقت۔ ڈٹھا۔ دیدار کیا
ਆਤਮੁ ਜਿਤਾ ਗੁਰਮਤੀ ਆਗੰਜਤ ਪਾਗਾ ॥ aatam jitaa gurmatee aaganjat paagaa. He wins over himself through the Guru’s teachings, and realizes the eternal God. ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਮੱਤ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਨ ਨੂੰ ਜਿੱਤ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਅਬਿਨਾਸੀ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਮਿਲ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ। آتمُجِتاگُرمتیِآگنّجتپاگا॥ آتم جتا ۔ گرمتی ۔ سبق مرشد سے نفس پر
ਪਉੜੀ ॥ pa-orhee. Pauree: پئُڑی ॥ ਸਭੇ ਦੁਖ ਸੰਤਾਪ ਜਾਂ ਤੁਧਹੁ ਭੁਲੀਐ ॥ sabhay dukh santaap jaaN tuDhhu bhulee-ai. O’ God, we are afflicted with all kinds of misery and worries when we neglect remembering You. ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਜਦੋਂ ਤੇਰੀ ਯਾਦ ਤੋਂ ਖੁੰਝ ਜਾਈਏ ਤਾਂ (ਮਨ ਨੂੰ) ਸਾਰੇ ਦੁੱਖ-ਕਲੇਸ਼ (ਆ ਵਾਪਰਦੇ ਹਨ)। سبھےدُکھسنّتاپجاںتُدھہُبھُلیِئےَ॥ سنتاپ ۔
ਸਲੋਕ ਮਃ ੫ ॥ salok mehlaa 5. Shalok, Fifth Guru: سلۄکم:5 ॥ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਬਾਣੀ ਅਮਿਉ ਰਸੁ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤੁ ਹਰਿ ਕਾ ਨਾਉ ॥ amrit banee ami-o ras amrit har kaa naa-o. The Guru’s divine worlds are rejuvenating and relishing like nectar and God’s Name is also the ambrosial nectar. ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਬਾਣੀ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਜਲ
ਤਿਥੈ ਤੂ ਸਮਰਥੁ ਜਿਥੈ ਕੋਇ ਨਾਹਿ ॥ tithai too samrath jithai ko-ay naahi. O’ God, You are capable of saving a person in that situation, where none else can. ਜਿੱਥੇ ਹੋਰ ਕੋਈ (ਜੀਵ ਸਹਾਇਤਾ ਕਰਨ ਜੋਗਾ) ਨਹੀਂ ਉਥੇ, ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਤੂੰ ਹੀ ਮਦਦ ਕਰਨ ਜੋਗਾ ਹੈਂ। تِتھےَتوُسمرتھُجِتھےَکوءِناہِ॥ سمرتھ ۔ با توفیق۔ مد لو کی توفیق
ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਬਾਣੀ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪੂਰੇ ਕੀ ਜਿਸੁ ਕਿਰਪਾਲੁ ਹੋਵੈ ਤਿਸੁ ਰਿਦੈ ਵਸੇਹਾ ॥ amrit banee satgur pooray kee jis kirpaal hovai tis ridai vasayhaa. Spiritually rejuvenating divine words of the perfect true Guru get enshrined in the heart of a person on whom the Guru becomes gracious. ਪੂਰੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲੀ ਬਾਣੀ ਉਸ
ਜਨੁ ਨਾਨਕੁ ਮੰਗੈ ਦਾਨੁ ਇਕੁ ਦੇਹੁ ਦਰਸੁ ਮਨਿ ਪਿਆਰੁ ॥੨॥ jan naanak mangai daan ik dayh daras man pi-aar. ||2|| O’ God, devotee Nanak begs for one gift: please bestow Your blessed vision and enshrine Your love in my mind. ||2|| (ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ!) ਦਾਸ ਨਾਨਕ ਭੀ ਇਕ ਖੈਰ ਮੰਗਦਾ ਹੈ-ਮੈਨੂੰ ਦੀਦਾਰ ਦੇਹ ਤੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਮਨ
ਵਡਾ ਸਾਹਿਬੁ ਗੁਰੂ ਮਿਲਾਇਆ ਜਿਨਿ ਤਾਰਿਆ ਸਗਲ ਜਗਤੁ ॥ vadaa saahib guroo milaa-i-aa jin taari-aa sagal jagat. The Guru has united me with God, the supreme Master who has saved the entire world from the vices. ਉਹ ਵੱਡਾ ਮਾਲਕ ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਸਾਰਾ ਸੰਸਾਰ ਤਾਰਿਆ ਹੈਮੈਨੂੰ ਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ ਮਿਲਾਇਆ ਹੈ। ۄڈاساہِبُگُروُمِلائِیاجِنِتارِیاسگلجگتُ سگل جگت۔ سارا جہان॥ ۔
ਮਃ ੫ ॥ mehlaa 5. Fifth Guru: م:5 ॥ ਵਿਣੁ ਤੁਧੁ ਹੋਰੁ ਜਿ ਮੰਗਣਾ ਸਿਰਿ ਦੁਖਾ ਕੈ ਦੁਖ ॥ vin tuDh hor je mangnaa sir dukhaa kai dukh. O’ God, to ask for anything other than Your Name is to invite the worst pains and sorrows for ourselves, ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਤੇਰੇ ਨਾਮ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ (ਤੈਥੋਂ)
