ਮਃ ੫ ॥ mehlaa 5. Fifth Guru: مਃ੫॥ ਘਟਿ ਵਸਹਿ ਚਰਣਾਰਬਿੰਦ ਰਸਨਾ ਜਪੈ ਗੁਪਾਲ ॥ ghat vaseh charnaarbind rasnaa japai gupaal. In whose heart is enshrined the immaculate Name of God, and whose tongue meditates on the Master of the earth. ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਚਰਨ ਕਮਲ ਵੱਸਦੇ ਹਨ ਤੇ ਜੀਭ ਹਰੀ
ਜਿਨਾ ਆਪੇ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਦੇ ਵਡਿਆਈ ਸੇ ਜਨ ਸਚੀ ਦਰਗਹਿ ਜਾਣੇ ॥੧੧॥ jinaa aapay gurmukhday vadi-aa-ee say jan sachee dargahi jaanay. ||11|| Those Guru’s followers, whom You bless with greatness, are honored in Your presence. ||11|| ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪ ਆਦਰ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈਂ, ਉਹ ਸੱਚੀ ਦਰਗਾਹ ਵਿਚ ਪਰਗਟ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੧੧॥ جِنا آپے گُرمُکھِ دے
ਮਨਮੁਖ ਮਾਇਆ ਮੋਹੁ ਹੈ ਨਾਮਿ ਨ ਲਗੋ ਪਿਆਰੁ ॥ manmukh maa-i-aa moh hai naam na lago pi-aar. The self-willed person loves Maya and love for Naam does not well up in him. ਮਨਮੁਖ ਦਾ ਮਾਇਆ ਵਿਚ ਮੋਹ ਹੈ (ਇਸ ਕਰ ਕੇ) ਨਾਮ ਵਿਚ ਉਸਦਾ ਪਿਆਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਬਣਦਾ। منمُکھ مائِیا موہُ ہےَ نامِ ن لگو پِیارُ
ਆਪੇ ਜਲੁ ਆਪੇ ਦੇ ਛਿੰਗਾ ਆਪੇ ਚੁਲੀ ਭਰਾਵੈ ॥ aapay jal aapay day chhingaa aapay chulee bharaavai. God Himself serves water, He Himself offers the toothpicks, and He himself helps to gargle. ਆਪ ਹੀ ਜਲ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਛਿੰਗਾ ਭੀ ਆਪ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਚੁਲੀ ਕਰਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ। آپے جلُ آپے دے چھِنّگا آپے
ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਸਹਸਾ ਕਦੇ ਨ ਚੂਕੈ ਬਿਨੁ ਸਬਦੈ ਦੁਖੁ ਪਾਏ ॥ an-din sahsaa kaday na chookai bin sabdai dukh paa-ay. Such a person always remains in doubt which never goes away and without reflecting on the Guru’s word, he remains miserable. ਹਰ ਰੋਜ਼ ਕਿਸੇ ਵੇਲੇ ਭੀ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਵਹਿਮ ਦੁਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦੇ, ਸ਼ਬਦ (ਦਾ ਆਸਰਾ ਲੈਣ
ਮਨਮੁਖ ਮੂਲਹੁ ਭੁਲਾਇਅਨੁ ਵਿਚਿ ਲਬੁ ਲੋਭੁ ਅਹੰਕਾਰੁ ॥ manmukh moolhu bhulaa-i-an vich lab lobh ahaNkaar. God has forsaken the self-willed people because they are engrossed in greed and egotism. ਮਨ ਦੇ ਪਿੱਛੇ ਤੁਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਤੋਂ ਭੁੱਲੇ ਹੋਏ ਹਨ, ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਲੱਬ ਲੋਭ ਤੇ ਅਹੰਕਾਰ ਹੈ। منمُکھ موُلہُ بھُلائِئنُ ۄِچِ لبُ لوبھُ
ਰਾਜਨ ਕਿਉ ਸੋਇਆ ਤੂ ਨੀਦ ਭਰੇ ਜਾਗਤ ਕਤ ਨਾਹੀ ਰਾਮ ॥ raajan ki-o so-i-aa too needbharay jaagat kat naahee raam. O’ dear king, why are you in a state of deep sleep in the love of Maya, why don’t you wake up? ਹੇ ਧਰਤੀ ਦੇ ਸਰਦਾਰ ਮਨੁੱਖ! ਤੂੰ ਕਿਉਂ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਮੋਹ ਦੀ ਗੂੜ੍ਹੀ ਨੀਂਦ
ਬਿਨਵੰਤ ਨਾਨਕ ਕਰ ਦੇਇ ਰਾਖਹੁ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਦੀਨ ਦਇਆਰਾ ॥੪॥ binvant naanak kar day-ay raakho gobinddeen da-i-aaraa. ||4|| Nanak prays, O’ God, the merciful master of the meek, extend your help and save me from drowning in the love for Maya. ||4|| ਨਾਨਕ ਬੇਨਤੀ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ,ਹੇ ਦੀਨਾਂ ਉਤੇ ਦਇਆ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ, ਆਪਣਾ ਹੱਥ ਦੇ ਕੇ
ਅਮਿਅ ਸਰੋਵਰੋ ਪੀਉ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮਾ ਰਾਮ ॥ ami-a sarovaro pee-o har har naamaa raam. Keep partaking the elixir of God’s Name from the pool of ambrosial nectar. ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਜਲ ਦਾ ਪਵਿਤ੍ਰ ਤਾਲਾਬ ਹੈ, (ਇਸ ਵਿਚੋਂ) ਪੀਂਦੇ ਰਿਹਾ ਕਰੋ। امِء سروۄرو پیِءُ ہرِ ہرِ ناما رام ॥ امیو سرؤ
ਕਰਿ ਮਜਨੁ ਹਰਿ ਸਰੇ ਸਭਿ ਕਿਲਬਿਖ ਨਾਸੁ ਮਨਾ ॥ kar majan har saray sabh kilbikh naas manaa. O’ my mind, immerse in the holy congregation and sing God’s praises, as if you are bathing in the pool of God’s Name, and all your sins would be eradicated. ਹੇ ਮਨ! ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ-ਤਾਲਾਬ ਵਿੱਚ ਤੂੰ ਇਸ਼ਨਾਨ
