ਹਥਿ ਛੁਰੀ ਜਗਤਕਾਸਾਈ ॥ hathchhureejagatkaasaa-ee. ਮੰਦਾ ਚੰਗਾ ਆਪਣਾ ਆਪੇ ਹੀ ਕੀਤਾ ਪਾਵਣਾ ॥ mandaa changa aapnaa aapay hee keetaa paavnaa. ਕਾਮੁ ਨੇਬੁ ਸਦਿ ਪੁਛੀਐ ਬਹਿਬਹਿ ਕਰੇ ਬੀਚਾਰੁ ॥ kaamnayb sadpuchhee-aibahibahikaraybeechaar. Lust is like their advisor and calling upon him, they ask for his advice and then sitting together they deliberate over different ways to befool the public. ਭੋਗ-ਬਿਲਾਸ ਦੇ ਛੋਟੇ ਹਾਕਮ ਨੂੰ ਬੁਲਾ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਸਲਾਹ ਲਈ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ। ਸਾਰੇ ਇਕੱਠੇ ਬੈਠ ਕੇ ਮੰਦੇ
ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਭੇਟੇ ਸੋ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਏ ॥ satgurbhaytay so sukhpaa-ay. Only he, who meets and follows the teachings of the True Guru, enjoys true peace. ਜਿਸਮਨੁੱਖਨੂੰਗੁਰੂਮਿਲਪਿਆਹੈ (ਅਸਲੀ) ਸੁਖਉਹੀਮਾਣਦਾਹੈ, ستِگُرُبھیٹےسۄسُکھُپاۓ ॥ سچے گرو سے ملنے والا راحت پاتا ہے ۔ ਹਰਿ ਕਾ ਨਾਮੁ ਮੰਨਿ ਵਸਾਏ ॥ harkaanaam man vasaa-ay. Because he enshrines God’s Name in his mind.
ਪਉੜੀ ॥ pa-orhee. Pauree: پئُڑی ॥ ਸੇਵ ਕੀਤੀਸੰਤੋਖੀਈ ਜਿਨ੍ਹ੍ਹੀ ਸਚੋ ਸਚੁ ਧਿਆਇਆ ॥ sayvkeeteesantokhee-eeNjinHeesachosachDhi-aa-i-aa. Only those contented persons truly serve the Eternal God who meditate on Him with love and devotion. ਜਿਹੜੇਸੰਤੋਖੀਮਨੁੱਖਸਦਾਇਕਅਬਿਨਾਸ਼ੀਪ੍ਰਭੂਨੂੰਸਿਮਰਦੇਹਨ, ਪ੍ਰਭੂਦੀਸੇਵਾ (ਅਸਲਘਾਲ)ਉਹੀ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ। سیوکیِتیسنّتۄکھیِئیِںجِن٘ہیسچۄسچُدھِیائِیا ॥ خدمت کرنے والے مطمئن رہتے ہیں۔ وہ سچوں کے سچے(سب سے سچے) پر غور کرتے ہیں۔ ਓਨ੍ਹ੍ਹੀ
ਜੋਗੀਸੁੰਨਿਧਿਆਵਨ੍ਹ੍ਹਿਜੇਤੇਅਲਖਨਾਮੁਕਰਤਾਰੁ॥ jogeesunnDhi-aavniHjaytayalakhnaamkartaar. ਗਿਆਨੁ ਨ ਗਲੀਈ ਢੂ not be obtained through mere talks (like narrating stories of kings and queens).
