ਛੋਡਿਹੁ ਨਿੰਦਾ ਤਾਤਿ ਪਰਾਈ ॥ chhodihu nindaa taat paraa-ee. O’ brother, abandon the habit of slandering and envy of others. ਹੇ ਭਾਈ, ਪਰਾਈ ਈਰਖਾ ਤੇ ਪਰਾਈ ਨਿੰਦਿਆ ਛੱਡ ਦਿਉ। چھوڈِہُنِنّداتاتِپرائیِ॥ نندا۔ بدگوئی ۔ تات پرائی ۔ دوسروں سے حسد۔ دوسروں کی بدگوئی کرنا اور حسد ترک کرؤ ਪੜਿ ਪੜਿ ਦਝਹਿ ਸਾਤਿ ਨ ਆਈ ॥ parh
ਨਾਵਹੁ ਭੁਲੀ ਚੋਟਾ ਖਾਏ ॥ naavhu bhulee chotaa khaa-ay. Strayed away from God’s Name, the self-willed soul-bride endures suffering. ਜੇਹੜੀ ਜੀਵ-ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਤੋਂ ਖੁੰਝੀ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਦੁੱਖ ਸਹਾਰਦੀ ਹੈ। ناۄہُبھُلیِچوٹاکھاۓ॥ ناوہو بھلی ۔ سچ وحقیقت بھلا کر۔ حقیقت و اصلیت سے گمراہ انسان عذاب پاتاہے ۔ ਬਹੁਤੁ ਸਿਆਣਪ ਭਰਮੁ ਨ ਜਾਏ ॥
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਵਿਰਲਾ ਚੀਨੈ ਕੋਈ ॥ gurmukh virlaa cheenai ko-ee. But only a rare one who follows the Guru’s teachings recognizes this situation. ਪਰ ਜੇਹੜਾ ਕੋਈ ਵਿਰਲਾ ਬੰਦਾ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਇਸ ਗਲ ਨੂੰ ਪਛਾਣਦਾ ਹੈ l گُرمُکھِۄِرلاچیِنےَکوئیِ॥ ۔ چینے ۔ سمجھنا ۔ پہچان کرنا اسکے کسی قسم کی سمجھ اور علم نہیں
ਸਚੈ ਊਪਰਿ ਅਵਰ ਨ ਦੀਸੈ ਸਾਚੇ ਕੀਮਤਿ ਪਾਈ ਹੇ ॥੮॥ sachai oopar avar na deesai saachay keemat paa-ee hay. ||8|| No one seems higher than the eternal God who is capable of evaluate His worth. ||8|| ਉਸ ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਸਿਰ ਉਤੇ ਕੋਈ ਹੋਰ ਤਾਕਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਦਿੱਸਦੀ ਜੋ ਉਸ ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਦੀ ਸਮਰਥਾ ਦਾ
ਗੰਗਾ ਜਮੁਨਾ ਕੇਲ ਕੇਦਾਰਾ ॥ gangaa jamunaa kayl kaydaaraa. ਆਪੇ ਕਿਸ ਹੀ ਕਸਿ ਬਖਸੇ ਆਪੇ ਦੇ ਲੈ ਭਾਈ ਹੇ ॥੮॥ aapay kis hee kas bakhsay aapay day lai bhaa-ee hay. ||8|| O’ brother, God Himself examines and approves someone like a jewel on the touchstone; He Himself conducts the trade of divine virtues in the world. ||8|| ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਕਿਸੇ ਰਤਨ-ਜੀਵ ਨੂੰ ਕਸਵੱਟੀ
