ਇਕਿਭੂਖੇਇਕਿਤ੍ਰਿਪਤਿਅਘਾਏਸਭਸੈਤੇਰਾਪਾਰਣਾ॥੩॥ ik bhookhay ik taripat aghaa-ay sabhsai tayraa paarnaa. ||3|| some, who are hungry because of poverty, while others who are well off so they are satiated. But no matter how poor or rich, all of them lean on Your support. ||3|| (ਤੂੰਕਈਤਾਂਅਜਿਹੇਪੈਦਾਕੀਤੇਹਨ) ਜੋਸਦਾਗਰੀਬੀਕਰਕੇਭੁਖੇਰਹਿੰਦੇਹਨ, ਤੇਕਈਪੂਰਨਤੌਰਤੇਰੱਜੇਹੋਏਹਨ।ਹਰੇਕਜੀਵਨੂੰਤੇਰਾਹੀਸਹਾਰਾਹੈ॥੩॥ اِکِبھوُکھےاِکِت٘رِپتِاگھاۓسبھسےَتیراپارنھا॥੩॥ ایک بھوکے ارو خواہش نہیں متتی اور بہت سے
ਆਪਿ ਤਰੈ ਸਗਲੇ ਕੁਲ ਤਾਰੇ ਹਰਿ ਦਰਗਹ ਪਤਿ ਸਿਉ ਜਾਇਦਾ ॥੬॥ aap tarai saglay kul taaray har dargeh pat si-o jaa-idaa. ||6|| The person who does that, is emancipated along with his whole lineage, and goes in presence of God with honor. ||6|| (ਜਿਹੜਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਜਪਦਾ ਹੈ) ਉਹ ਆਪ (ਸੰਸਾਰ-ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਤੋਂ) ਪਾਰ ਲੰਘ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ,
ਗੁਰੁਸਿਮਰਤਸਭਿਕਿਲਵਿਖਨਾਸਹਿ॥ gur simrat sabh kilvikh naaseh. By meditating on the Guru’s teachings, all vices and sins flee away, ਗੁਰੂਨੂੰ (ਹਰਵੇਲੇ) ਯਾਦਕਰਦਿਆਂਸਾਰੇਪਾਪਨਾਸਹੋਜਾਂਦੇਹਨ, گُرُسِمرتسبھِکِلۄِکھناسہِ سمرت۔ یاد کرنے سے ۔ کل وکھ ۔ گناہ۔ ناسیہہ۔ مٹ جاتے ہیں۔ دور ہو جاتے مرشد کی یاد سے سارے گگناہ عافو ہو جاتے ہیں ਗੁਰੁਸਿਮਰਤਜਮਸੰਗਿਨਫਾਸਹਿ॥ gur simrat jam sang na faaseh.
ਆਪੇ ਸਚੁ ਧਾਰਿਓ ਸਭੁ ਸਾਚਾ ਸਚੇ ਸਚਿ ਵਰਤੀਜਾ ਹੇ ॥੪॥ aapay sach Dhaari-o sabh saachaa sachay sach varteejaa hay. ||4|| He Himself is eternal, eternal is what He has established, and is eternally pervading everywhere. ||4|| ਉਹ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਸਦਾ ਕਾਇਮ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ। ਅਤੇ ਸਮੂਹ ਸਦਾ ਕਾਇਮ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਥਾਪਿਆ
ਧਨ ਅੰਧੀ ਪਿਰੁ ਚਪਲੁ ਸਿਆਨਾ ॥ Dhan anDhee pir chapal si-aanaa. The body-bride is blind, and the groom is clever and wise. (O‟ my friends, engaged in worldly affairs, the body) bride is (spiritually) blind, and her spouse (the soul) is wise but mercurial (in nature), ਮਾਇਆ-ਗ੍ਰਸੀ ਕਾਇਆਂ ਦੀ ਸੰਗਤ ਵਿਚ ਜੀਵਾਤਮਾ ਚੰਚਲ ਚਤੁਰ ਹੋ
ਥਾਨ ਥਨੰਤਰਿ ਅੰਤਰਜਾਮੀ ॥ thaan thanantar antarjaamee. The Inner-knower, the Searcher of hearts, is in all places and interspaces. He is the inner knower of all hearts and is abiding in all places. ਉਸ ਪੂਰਨ ਦਿਲ ਦੀ ਜਾਣਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਉਹ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਹਰੇਕ ਥਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਵੱਸ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ। تھانتھننّترِانّترجامیِ॥ تھان تھنتر۔ ہر جگہ ۔ انتر حامی۔
ਵਿਚਿ ਹਉਮੈ ਸੇਵਾ ਥਾਇ ਨ ਪਾਏ ॥ vich ha-umai sayvaa thaa-ay na paa-ay. Any service performed with ego and pride is not approved by God ਹਉਮੈ-ਅਹੰਕਾਰ ਵਿਚ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੋਈ ਸੇਵਾ-ਭਗਤੀ ਪਰਵਾਨ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦੀ, ۄِچِہئُمےَسیۄاتھاءِنپاۓ॥ ہونمے ۔ خودی۔ تھائے ۔ ٹھکانہ ۔ خودی میں کی ہوئی خدمت اہمیت نہیں رکتھی ਜਨਮਿ ਮਰੈ ਫਿਰਿ ਆਵੈ ਜਾਏ ॥
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਨਾਮਿ ਸਮਾਇ ਸਮਾਵੈ ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਈ ਹੇ ॥੧੨॥ gurmukh naam samaa-ay samaavai naanak naam Dhi-aa-ee hay. ||12|| O’ Nanak, through the Guru’s teachings, the person remains immersed and absorbed in remembering God’s Name||12|| ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਨਾਮ ਵਿਚ ਲੀਨ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ (ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਵਿਚ) ਲੀਨ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਹਰ ਵੇਲੇ ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ
ਸਦ ਹੀ ਨੇੜੈ ਦੂਰਿ ਨ ਜਾਣਹੁ ॥ sad hee nayrhai door na jaanhu God is always close to us; never feel that He is far. ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਸਦਾ ਹੀ (ਸਾਡੇ) ਨੇੜੇ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਨੂੰ (ਕਦੇ ਭੀ ਆਪਣੇ ਤੋਂ) ਦੂਰ ਨਾਹ ਸਮਝੋ। سدہیِنیڑےَدوُرِنجانھہُ॥ ندری ۔ نظر عنایت ۔ بھگتا ۔ عابد۔ لیہو۔ ملائے ۔ ملا لیتا
ਤਿਸ ਦੀ ਬੂਝੈ ਜਿ ਗੁਰ ਸਬਦੁ ਕਮਾਏ ॥ tis dee boojhai je gur sabad kamaa-ay. He alone puts out this fire, who practices and lives the Guru’s Shabad. Only that person’s (fire of worldly desire) gets extinguished who leads life in accordance with (Gurbani) the word of the Guru. One alone puts out this fire
