ਰਾਜੰ ਤ ਮਾਨੰ ਅਭਿਮਾਨੰ ਤ ਹੀਨੰ ॥ raajaNta maanaN abhimaanaNta heenaN. If there is power, then there is pride. If there is egotistical pride, then there will be a fall. From kingdom (or position of power) arises arrogance, and one who indulges in pride soon gets humiliated. ਜਿਥੇ ਰਾਜ ਹੈ, ਉਥੇ ਅਹੰਕਾਰ ਭੀ ਹੈ, ਜਿਥੇ
ਧ੍ਰਿਗੰਤ ਮਾਤ ਪਿਤਾ ਸਨੇਹੰ ਧ੍ਰਿਗ ਸਨੇਹੰ ਭ੍ਰਾਤ ਬਾਂਧਵਹ ॥ Dharigant maat pitaa sanayhaNDharig sanayhaNbharaat baaNDhvah. Cursed is loving attachment to one’s mother and father; cursed is loving attachment to one’s siblings and relatives. Accursed is (too much) fondness for one’s mother and father. Also accursed is (too much) fondness for brothers (sisters) or relatives. ਮਾਂ
ਅਸਥਿਰੁ ਜੋ ਮਾਨਿਓ ਦੇਹ ਸੋ ਤਉ ਤੇਰਉ ਹੋਇ ਹੈ ਖੇਹ ॥ asthir jo maani-o dayh so ta-o tayra-o ho-ay hai khayh. You believed that this body was permanent, but it shall turn to dust. (O’ my friend), this body which you deem as everlasting, that (body of) yours would (soon) be reduced to dust. ਜਿਸ

ਸਭੋ ਹੁਕਮੁ ਹੁਕਮੁ ਹੈ ਆਪੇ ਨਿਰਭਉ ਸਮਤੁ ਬੀਚਾਰੀ ॥੩॥ sabho hukam hukam hai aapay nirbha-o samat beechaaree. ||3|| He Himself is the Commander; all are under His Command. The Fearless Lord looks on all alike. ||3|| God’s command is prevailing everywhere and sees the fear-free (God) equally pervading everywhere. ||3|| ਉਹ ਸਮ-ਦਰਸੀ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ,
ਲੋਗਾ ਭਰਮਿ ਨ ਭੂਲਹੁ ਭਾਈ ॥ logaa bharam na bhoolahu bhaa-ee. O people, O Siblings of Destiny, do not wander deluded by doubt. O’ people, do not be strayed by doubt. ਹੇ ਲੋਕੋ! (ਰੱਬ ਦੀ ਹਸਤੀ ਬਾਰੇ) ਕਿਸੇ ਭੁਲੇਖੇ ਵਿਚ ਪੈ ਕੇ ਖ਼ੁਆਰ ਨਾਹ ਹੋਵੋ। لوگابھرمِنبھوُلہُبھائیِ॥ لوگا۔ اے لوگو ۔ بھرم۔ وہم وگمان ۔بھٹکن ۔
ਜਹ ਸੇਵਕ ਗੋਪਾਲ ਗੁਸਾਈ ॥ jah sayvak gopaal gusaa-ee. where the servants of the Lord of the World abide. where reside the servants (and devotees) of the Master of the universe. ਜਿੱਥੇ (ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤ ਵਿਚ) ਸ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟੀ ਦੇ ਰੱਖਿਅਕ ਖਸਮ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਭਗਤ-ਜਨ (ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ)। جہسیۄکگوپالگُسائیِ॥ جہاں پروردگار عالم کے بندے رہتے ہیں ۔ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਸੁਪ੍ਰਸੰਨ ਭਏ
ਮਨ ਮਹਿ ਕ੍ਰੋਧੁ ਮਹਾ ਅਹੰਕਾਰਾ ॥ man meh kroDh mahaa ahaNkaaraa. Within the mind dwell anger and massive ego. but if within one’s mind is lust and immense pride, ਜੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਟਿਕਿਆ ਰਹੇ, ਬਲੀ ਅਹੰਕਾਰ ਵੱਸਿਆ ਰਹੇ, منمہِک٘رودھُمہااہنّکارا॥ کرودھ ۔ غصہ ۔مہااہنکار۔ بھاری غرور وتکبر ۔ بسمار ۔ پھیلاؤ۔ دلمیں غصہ ہے اور
