ਨਾਮੇ ਨਾਮਿ ਮਿਲੈ ਵਡਿਆਈ ਜਿਸ ਨੋ ਮੰਨਿ ਵਸਾਏ ॥੨॥ naamay naam milai vadi-aa-ee jis no man vasaa-ay. ||2|| Through the Naam, glorious greatness is obtained; he alone obtains it, whose mind is filled with the Lord. ||2|| Yes, in whose mind (God) enshrines the word (of the Guru), that person gets attuned to the Name,
ਗਿਆਨ ਅੰਜਨੁ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਤੇ ਹੋਇ ॥ gi-aan anjan satgur tay ho-ay. The ointment of spiritual wisdom is obtained from the True Guru. (O’ my friends), it is only through the true Guru that one obtains the eye powder of (divine) knowledge ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੀ ਸੂਝ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਸੁਰਮਾ ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਗੁਰੂ ਪਾਸੋਂ ਮਿਲ ਗਿਆ,
ਕਰਮੁ ਹੋਵੈ ਗੁਰੁ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਕਰੈ ॥ karam hovai gur kirpaa karai. When the mortal has good karma, the Guru grants His Grace. When one is so blessed by God, the Guru shows mercy, ਜਦੋਂ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਮਿਹਰ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ, ਗੁਰੂ (ਜੀਵ ਉੱਤੇ) ਕਿਰਪਾ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, کرمُہوۄےَگُرُکِرپاکرےَ॥ کرم ۔ بخشش ۔ جب کسی کو خدا کا
