ਵਡਭਾਗੀ ਮਿਲੁ ਰਾਮਾ ॥੧॥
vadbhaagee mil raamaa. ||1||
(In this way), O’ fortunate one, you will unite with God.
(Kwa njia hii), Ee mtu uliye na bahati nzuri, utaungana na Mungu.
ਗੁਰੁ ਜੋਗੀ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਮਿਲਿਆ ਰੰਗੁ ਮਾਣੀ ਜੀਉ ॥
gur jogee purakh mili-aa rang maanee jee-o.
I have met the Guru, who himself is united with God, and by the Guru’s grace I am enjoying the bliss of God’s Love.
Nimekutana na Guru, ambaye mwenyewe ameungana na Mungu, na kwa neema ya Guru nafurahia raha tele ya Upendo wa Mungu.
ਗੁਰੁ ਹਰਿ ਰੰਗਿ ਰਤੜਾ ਸਦਾ ਨਿਰਬਾਣੀ ਜੀਉ ॥
gur har rang rat-rhaa sadaa nirbaanee jee-o.
The Guru is imbued with the Love of God and is forever free from the vices.
Guru amejawa na Upendo wa Mungu na daima yupo huru kutoka dhambi.
ਵਡਭਾਗੀ ਮਿਲੁ ਸੁਘੜ ਸੁਜਾਣੀ ਜੀਉ ॥
vadbhaagee mil sugharh sujaanee jee-o.
O the fortunate one, You too should meet such an accomplished and wise Guru.
Ee mwenye bahati nzuri, Wewe pia unafaa kukutana na Guru aliyefanikishwa na mwenye hekima kama huyo.
ਮੇਰਾ ਮਨੁ ਤਨੁ ਹਰਿ ਰੰਗਿ ਭਿੰਨਾ ॥੨॥
mayraa man tan har rang bhinnaa. ||2||
My mind and body are drenched in the Love of God. l2l
Akili na mwili wangu imelowa katika Upendo wa Mungu.
ਆਵਹੁ ਸੰਤਹੁ ਮਿਲਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਜਪਾਹਾ ॥
aavhu santahu mil naam japaahaa.
Come, O Saints, let us meditate on God’s Name with loving devotion.
Kujeni, Ee Watakatifu, hebu tutafakari kuhusu Jina la Mungu kwa kujitolea kwa upendo.
ਵਿਚਿ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਸਦਾ ਲੈ ਲਾਹਾ ਜੀਉ ॥
vich sangat naam sadaa lai laahaa jee-o.
In the Holy Congregation, let’s earn the lasting wealth of Naam.
Katika Ushirika Takatifu, hebu tuchume utajiri unaodumu wa Naam.
ਕਰਿ ਸੇਵਾ ਸੰਤਾ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤੁ ਮੁਖਿ ਪਾਹਾ ਜੀਉ ॥
kar sayvaa santaa amrit mukh paahaa jee-o.
Let’s follow the Guru’s teachings, and partake the Ambrosial Nectar of Naam.
Hebu tufuate mafundisho ya guru, na tushiriki Nekta ya Ambrosia ya Naam.
ਮਿਲੁ ਪੂਰਬਿ ਲਿਖਿਅੜੇ ਧੁਰਿ ਕਰਮਾ ॥੩॥
mil poorab likhi-arhay Dhur karmaa. ||3||
As per your pre ordained destiny unite with God .||3||
kulingana na hatima yako iliyoagiziwa mapema ungana na Mungu.
ਸਾਵਣਿ ਵਰਸੁ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤਿ ਜਗੁ ਛਾਇਆ ਜੀਉ ॥ ਮਨੁ ਮੋਰੁ ਕੁਹੁਕਿਅੜਾ ਸਬਦੁ ਮੁਖਿ ਪਾਇਆ ॥
saavan varas amrit jag chhaa-i-aa jee-o. man mor kuhuki-arhaa sabad mukh paa-i-aa.
As in the month of Saawan (rainy season), the rain water falls everywhere and the peacock chirps and dances, similarly when the elixir of the Guru’s word rains down in me, I feel as if my mind is dancing and singing the praises of God.
Kama katika mwezi wa Saawan (msimu wa mvua), maji ya mvua yanamwagika kila mahali na tausi anaimba na kucheza, vivyo hivyo wakati dawa ya neno la Guru inaniangukia kama mvua, nahisi kana kwamba akili yangu inacheza na kuimba sifa za Mungu.
ਹਰਿ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤੁ ਵੁਠੜਾ ਮਿਲਿਆ ਹਰਿ ਰਾਇਆ ਜੀਉ ॥
har amrit vuth-rhaa mili-aa har raa-i-aa jee-o.
The elixir of Naam rains down in the mind, and the union with the Almighty God is obtained.
Dawa ya Naam inamiminwa akilini, na muungano na Mungu Mwenyezi unapatikana.
ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਪ੍ਰੇਮਿ ਰਤੰਨਾ ॥੪॥੧॥੨੭॥੬੫॥
jan naanak paraym ratannaa. ||4||1||27||65||
Devotee Nanak is imbued with the Love of God. |4|1|27|65|

O’ my friend Come, let us make God’s virtues as our charms to entice Him.
Ee rafiki wangu Kuja, hebu tufanye fadhila za Mungu ziwe hirizi za kumvutia Yeye.
ਮਿਲਿ ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾ ਰੰਗੁ ਮਾਣਿਹ ਰਲੀਆ ਜੀਉ ॥
mil sant janaa rang maanih ralee-aa jee-o.
Let’s join the Saints in the holy congregation, and enjoy the bliss of God’s Love.
Hebu tuungane na Watakatifu katika ushirika takatifu, na tufurahie raha tele ya Upendo wa Mungu.
ਗੁਰ ਦੀਪਕੁ ਗਿਆਨੁ ਸਦਾ ਮਨਿ ਬਲੀਆ ਜੀਉ ॥
gur deepak gi-aan sadaa man balee-aa jee-o.
Let us always light the lamp of Guru’s wisdom in our mind.
Hebu daima tuwashe taa ya hekima ya Guru akilini mwetu.
ਹਰਿ ਤੁਠੈ ਢੁਲਿ ਢੁਲਿ ਮਿਲੀਆ ਜੀਉ ॥੧॥
har tuthai dhul dhul milee-aa jee-o. ||1||
If God become gracious upon us, we may meet Him with gratitude.||1||
Iwapo Mungu awe mwenye neema kwetu, tunaweza kukutana naye kwa shukrani.
ਮੇਰੈ ਮਨਿ ਤਨਿ ਪ੍ਰੇਮੁ ਲਗਾ ਹਰਿ ਢੋਲੇ ਜੀਉ ॥
mayrai man tan paraym lagaa har dholay jee-o.
My mind and body are attuned to the love of my beloved God.
Akili na mwili wangu umemakinikia upendo wa Mungu wangu mpendwa.
ਮੈ ਮੇਲੇ ਮਿਤ੍ਰੁ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਵੇਚੋਲੇ ਜੀਉ ॥
mai maylay mitar satgur vaycholay jee-o.
I wish that the true Guru, my mediator, may unite me with my Friend-God.
Natamani kwamba Guru wa kweli, mpatanishi wangu, aniunganishe na Rafiki-Mungu wangu.
ਮਨੁ ਦੇਵਾਂ ਸੰਤਾ ਮੇਰਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਮੇਲੇ ਜੀਉ ॥
man dayvaaN santaa mayraa parabh maylay jee-o.
I will surrender my mind to the devotees who can unite me with my God.
Nitasalimisha akili yangu kwa watawa ambao wanaweza kuniunganisha na Mungu wangu.
ਹਰਿ ਵਿਟੜਿਅਹੁ ਸਦਾ ਘੋਲੇ ਜੀਉ ॥੨॥
har vitrhi-ahu sadaa gholay jee-o. ||2||
I forever dedicate myself to God.
Najiweka wakfu daima kwa Mungu.
ਵਸੁ ਮੇਰੇ ਪਿਆਰਿਆ ਵਸੁ ਮੇਰੇ ਗੋਵਿਦਾ ਹਰਿ ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਮਨਿ ਵਸੁ ਜੀਉ ॥
vas mayray pi-aari-aa vas mayray govidaa har kar kirpaa man vas jee-o.
O my Beloved, Master of the Universe; show mercy and come to dwell within my mind.
Ee Mpendwa wangu, Bwana wa Ulimwengu; onesha huruma na ukuje kuishi akilini mwangu.
ਮਨਿ ਚਿੰਦਿਅੜਾ ਫਲੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਮੇਰੇ ਗੋਵਿੰਦਾ ਗੁਰੁ ਪੂਰਾ ਵੇਖਿ ਵਿਗਸੁ ਜੀਉ ॥
man chindi-arhaa fal paa-i-aa mayray govindaa gur pooraa vaykh vigas jee-o.
O’ my Master of the Universe, beholding the Perfect Guru, the desires of my mind have been fulfilled and I am totally delighted.
Ee Bwana wangu wa Ulimwengu, kwa kutazama Guru Kamili, hamu za akili yangu zimetimizwa na nimefurahi kabisa.
ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਮਿਲਿਆ ਸੋਹਾਗਣੀ ਮੇਰੇ ਗੋਵਿੰਦਾ ਮਨਿ ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਅਨਦੁ ਰਹਸੁ ਜੀਉ ॥
har naam mili-aa sohaaganee mayray govindaa man an-din anad rahas jee-o.
O’ my God, the fortunate soul-bride who realizes God’s Name, is always blissful and happy.
Ee Mungu wangu, roho kama bi harusi mwenye bahati ambaye amegundua Jina la Mungu, daima ni mwenye raha tele na furaha.
ਹਰਿ ਪਾਇਅੜਾ ਵਡਭਾਗੀਈ ਮੇਰੇ ਗੋਵਿੰਦਾ ਨਿਤ ਲੈ ਲਾਹਾ ਮਨਿ ਹਸੁ ਜੀਉ ॥੩॥
har paaiarhaa vadbhagi- mayray govindaa nit lai laahaa man has jee-o. ||3||
O’ my God, the fortunate soul-brides who have realized You by reaping the wealth of Naam, they are continually enjoying the spiritual bliss.||3||
Ee Mungu wangu, roho kama bi harusi wenye bahati ambao wamekugundua Wewe kwa kuvuna utajiri wa Naam, wanafurahia raha tele ya kiroho bila mwisho.
ਹਰਿ ਆਪਿ ਉਪਾਏ ਹਰਿ ਆਪੇ ਵੇਖੈ ਹਰਿ ਆਪੇ ਕਾਰੈ ਲਾਇਆ ਜੀਉ ॥
har aap upaa-ay har aapay vaykhai har aapay kaarai laa-i-aa jee-o.
O my friends, God Himself creates all beings, He Himself looks after them, and He Himself assigns them to different tasks.
Ee marafiki wangu, Mungu mwenyewe anaumba viumbe vyote, Yeye mwenyewe anawachunga, na Yeye mwenyewe anawateua kwa kazi tofauti.
ਇਕਿ ਖਾਵਹਿ ਬਖਸ ਤੋਟਿ ਨ ਆਵੈ ਇਕਨਾ ਫਕਾ ਪਾਇਆ ਜੀਉ ॥
ik khaaveh bakhas tot na aavai iknaa fakaa paa-i-aa jee-o.
Some are blessed with the unlimited bounties which never runs out, while others receive only a handful.
Wengine wanabarikiwa na fadhila zisizo na kikomo ambazo kamwe haziishi, wakati wengine wanapokea kidogo tu.
ਇਕਿ ਰਾਜੇ ਤਖਤਿ ਬਹਹਿ ਨਿਤ ਸੁਖੀਏ ਇਕਨਾ ਭਿਖ ਮੰਗਾਇਆ ਜੀਉ ॥
ik raajay takhat baheh nit sukhee-ay iknaa bhikh mangaa-i-aa jee-o.
Many by His grace sit upon thrones as kings and enjoy constant pleasures, while there are others whom He makes to beg.
Wengi kwa neema yake wanaketi kwenye viti vya enzi kama wafalme na kufurahia raha za mara kwa mara, ilhali kuna wengine ambao Yeye anawafanya wawe ombaomba.
ਸਭੁ ਇਕੋ ਸਬਦੁ ਵਰਤਦਾ ਮੇਰੇ ਗੋਵਿਦਾ ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਇਆ ਜੀਉ ॥੪॥੨॥੨੮॥੬੬॥
sabh iko sabad varatdaa mayray govidaa jan naanak naam Dhi-aa-i-aa jee-o. ||4||2||28||66||
O’ my Master of the Universe; only His command prevails everywhere, and the humble devotee Nanak meditates on Your Name. ||4||2||28||66||

man maahee man maahee mayray govindaa har rang rataa man maahee jee-o.
O’ my God, the one who is blessed with Your gr realizes that You are dwelling in his mind and his mind remains imbued with Your love.
Ee Mungu wangu, yule ambaye amebarikiwa kwa neema yako anagundua ya kwamba unaishi akilini mwake na akili yake inabaki imejawa na upendo wako.
ਹਰਿ ਰੰਗੁ ਨਾਲਿ ਨ ਲਖੀਐ ਮੇਰੇ ਗੋਵਿਦਾ ਗੁਰੁ ਪੂਰਾ ਅਲਖੁ ਲਖਾਹੀ ਜੀਉ ॥
har rang naal na lakhee-ai mayray govidaa gur pooraa alakh lakhaahee jee-o.
O’ my loving God, You are always with us, but we cannot realize this. It is only the perfect Guru who helps us to know You, the unknowable God.
Ee Mungu wangu mwenye upendo, daima upo nasi, lakini hatuwezi kugundua hayo. Ni Guru kamili pekee anayetusaidia kukujua, Mungu usiyeweza kujulikana.
ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਪਰਗਾਸਿਆ ਮੇਰੇ ਗੋਵਿੰਦਾ ਸਭ ਦਾਲਦ ਦੁਖ ਲਹਿ ਜਾਹੀ ਜੀਉ ॥
har har naam pargaasi-aa mayray govindaa sabh daalad dukh leh jaahee jee-o.
O’ my Master of the Universe, those in whose mind Your Name is illuminated, all their misery and sorrow is removed.
Ee Bwana wangu wa Ulimwengu, wale ambao katika akili yao Jina lako limeangazwa, taabu na huzuni yao yote inaondolewa.
ਹਰਿ ਪਦੁ ਊਤਮੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਮੇਰੇ ਗੋਵਿੰਦਾ ਵਡਭਾਗੀ ਨਾਮਿ ਸਮਾਹੀ ਜੀਉ ॥੧॥
har pad ootam paa-i-aa mayray govindaa vadbhagi naam samaahee jee-o. ||1||
O’ my Master of the Universe, those who by good fortune obtain the supreme spiritual state of union With God, remain merged in Naam. ||1||
Ee Bwana wangu wa Ulimwengu, wale ambao kwa bahati njema wanapata hadhi ya juu ya kiroho ya muungano na Mungu, wanabaki wameunganishwa katika Naam.
ਨੈਣੀ ਮੇਰੇ ਪਿਆਰਿਆ ਨੈਣੀ ਮੇਰੇ ਗੋਵਿਦਾ ਕਿਨੈ ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਡਿਠੜਾ ਨੈਣੀ ਜੀਉ ॥
nainee mayray pi-aari-aa nainee mayray govidaa kinai har parabh dith-rhaa nainee jee-o.
O’ my beloved Master of the Universe, has anyone ever seen You with his eyes?
Ee Bwana wangu mpendwa wa Ulimwengu, kuna yeyote ambaye amewahi kukuona kwa macho yake?
ਮੇਰਾ ਮਨੁ ਤਨੁ ਬਹੁਤੁ ਬੈਰਾਗਿਆ ਮੇਰੇ ਗੋਵਿੰਦਾ ਹਰਿ ਬਾਝਹੁ ਧਨ ਕੁਮਲੈਣੀ ਜੀਉ ॥
mayraa man tan bahut bairaagi-aa mayray govindaa har baajhahu Dhan kumlainee jee-o.
O’ my master of the Universe, without You I am feeling the pains of separation,and I am withering away like a separated young bride.
Ee Bwana wangu wa Ulimwengu, bila Wewe nahisi maumivu ya utengano, na ninanyauka kama bi harusi kijana aliyetengwa.
