ਮਹਾ ਕਿਲਬਿਖ ਕੋਟਿ ਦੋਖ ਰੋਗਾ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਦ੍ਰਿਸਟਿ ਤੁਹਾਰੀ ਹਾਤੇ ॥
mahaa kilbikh kot dokh rogaa parabh darisat tuhaaree haatay.
O’ God, millions of most horrible sins, sufferings and afflictions of a person are destroyed by Your glance of grace.
Ee Mungu, mamilioni ya dhambi mbaya zaidi, mateso na magonjwa ya mtu yanaangamizwa kwa mtazamo wako wa neema.
ਸੋਵਤ ਜਾਗਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਗਾਇਆ ਨਾਨਕ ਗੁਰ ਚਰਨ ਪਰਾਤੇ ॥੨॥੮॥
sovat jaag har har har gaa-i-aa naanak gur charan paraatay. ||2||8||
O’ Nanak, those who come to the Guru’s refuge and follow his teachings, keep singing God’s praises at all times, no matter whether asleep or awake. ||2||8||
Ee Nanak, wale wanaokuja kwa kimbilio cha Guru na kuifuata mafundisho yake, wanaendelea kuimba sifa za Mungu wakati wote, iwe wamelala au wameamka.

I have seen that God with my (spiritually enlightened) eyes everywhere,
Nimeona Mungu huyo kwa macho yangu (yalioangazwa kiroho) kila mahali,
ਸੁਖਦਾਈ ਜੀਅਨ ਕੋ ਦਾਤਾ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤੁ ਜਾ ਕੀ ਬੈਣੀ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
sukh-daa-ee jee-an ko daataa amrit jaa kee bainee. ||1|| rahaa-o.
who is the giver of peace to the living beings; the Guru’s words of whose praises are full of the ambrosial nectar. ||1||Pause||
ambaye ndiye mpaji wa amani kwa viumbe vyote vinavyoishi; maneno ya Guru za sifa ambazo zimejawa na nekta ya ambrosia. ||1||Sitisha||
ਅਗਿਆਨੁ ਅਧੇਰਾ ਸੰਤੀ ਕਾਟਿਆ ਜੀਅ ਦਾਨੁ ਗੁਰ ਦੈਣੀ ॥
agi-aan aDhayraa santee kaati-aa jee-a daan gur dainee.
The saints of God have removed my darkness of ignorance and the Guru has given me the gift of spiritual life.
Watakatifu wa Mungu wanondoa giza yangu ya ujinga na Guru amenipa thawabu ya maisha ya kiroho.
ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਕਰਿ ਲੀਨੋ ਅਪੁਨਾ ਜਲਤੇ ਸੀਤਲ ਹੋਣੀ ॥੧॥
kar kirpaa kar leeno apunaa jaltay seetal honee. ||1||
Bestowing mercy, God has made me His own; I was burning with the fierceworldly desires, but now I feel calm and cool.||1||
Akitawaza huruma, Mungu amenifanya kuwa wake Mwenyewe; nilikuwa nachomeka kwa hamu kali za kidunia, lakini sasa najihisi mtulivu na shwari.
ਕਰਮੁ ਧਰਮੁ ਕਿਛੁ ਉਪਜਿ ਨ ਆਇਓ ਨਹ ਉਪਜੀ ਨਿਰਮਲ ਕਰਣੀ ॥
karam Dharam kichh upaj na aa-i-o nah upjee nirmal karnee.
I could not perform any act of faith, nor any virtuous conduct welled up in me.
Singeweza kutenda kitendo chochote cha imani, wala tabia yoyote njema haikutokea ndani mwangu.
ਛਾਡਿ ਸਿਆਨਪ ਸੰਜਮ ਨਾਨਕ ਲਾਗੋ ਗੁਰ ਕੀ ਚਰਣੀ ॥੨॥੯॥
chhaad si-aanap sanjam naanak laago gur kee charnee. ||2||9||
O’ Nanak, renouncing my own wisdom and cleverness, I have come to the Guru’s refuge and have attuned myself to his teachings. ||2||9||
Ee Nanak, nikikana busara na ujanja wangu, nimekuja kwa kimbilio cha Guru na nimemakinikia mafundisho yake.

O’ my friend, meditate on God’s Name and earn the profit of His remembrance in human life.
Ee rafiki wangu, tafakari kuhusu Jina la Mungu na uchume faida ya ukumbusho wake katika maisha ya kibinadamu.
ਗਤਿ ਪਾਵਹਿ ਸੁਖ ਸਹਜ ਅਨੰਦਾ ਕਾਟੇ ਜਮ ਕੇ ਫਾਹਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
gat paavahi sukh sahj anandaa kaatay jam kay faahaa. ||1|| rahaa-o.
You would attain high spiritual state, enjoy the bliss of spiritual poise, and your bonds leading to spiritual death would be cut off.||1||Pause||
Utapata hali ya juu ya kiroho, kufurahia raha tele ya utulivu wa kiroho, na vifungo vyako vinavyoelekeza kwa kifo cha kiroho vitavunjwa. ||1||Sitisha||
ਖੋਜਤ ਖੋਜਤ ਖੋਜਿ ਬੀਚਾਰਿਓ ਹਰਿ ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾ ਪਹਿ ਆਹਾ ॥
khojat khojat khoj beechaari-o har sant janaa peh aahaa.
After searching, I have come to the conclusion that wealth of Naam is with the saints of God,
Baada ya kutafuta, nimefikia hitimisho kwamba utajiri wa Naam upo na watakatifu wa Mungu,
ਤਿਨ੍ਹ੍ਹਾ ਪਰਾਪਤਿ ਏਹੁ ਨਿਧਾਨਾ ਜਿਨ੍ਹ੍ਹ ਕੈ ਕਰਮਿ ਲਿਖਾਹਾ ॥੧॥
tinHaa paraapat ayhu niDhaanaa jinH kai karam likhaahaa. ||1||
and they alone receive this treasure of Naam, who are pre-ordained. ||1||
na wao pekee wanapokea hazina hii ya Naam, ambao wameagiziwa mapema.
ਸੇ ਬਡਭਾਗੀ ਸੇ ਪਤਿਵੰਤੇ ਸੇਈ ਪੂਰੇ ਸਾਹਾ ॥
say badbhaagee say pativantay say-ee pooray saahaa.
They alone are most fortunate, honorable and are truly wealthy,
Wao pekee wamebahatika zaidi, wanaheshimika na kwa kweli ni tajiri,
ਸੁੰਦਰ ਸੁਘੜ ਸਰੂਪ ਤੇ ਨਾਨਕ ਜਿਨ੍ਹ੍ਹ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਵਿਸਾਹਾ ॥੨॥੧੦॥
sundar sugharh saroop tay naanak jinH har har naam visaahaa. ||2||10||
beautiful, sagacious, and of good disposition, who have amassed the wealth of God’s Name, says Nanak. ||2||10||\

Ee akili yangu, kwa nini una fahari sasa kwa sababu ya ubinafsi?
ਦੁਰਗੰਧ ਅਪਵਿਤ੍ਰ ਅਪਾਵਨ ਭੀਤਰਿ ਜੋ ਦੀਸੈ ਸੋ ਛਾਰਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
durganDh apvitar apaavan bheetar jo deesai so chhaaraa. ||1|| rahaa-o.
Inside this body are foul odors, filth and impurities, this body and whatever you see in this world are perishable. ||1||Pause||
Ndani mwake mwili una harufu nne, uchafu na unajisi, mwili huu na chochote unachoona duniani humu kinaweza kuharibika. ||1||Sitisha||
ਜਿਨਿ ਕੀਆ ਤਿਸੁ ਸਿਮਰਿ ਪਰਾਨੀ ਜੀਉ ਪ੍ਰਾਨ ਜਿਨਿ ਧਾਰਾ ॥
jin kee-aa tis simar paraanee jee-o paraan jin Dhaaraa.
O’ mortal, remember that God with loving devotion who created you and gave support to your soul and the breath.
Ee binadamu, kumbuka Mungu huyo kwa ujitoaji wa upendo aliyekuumba wewe na akakupa tegemezo kwa roho na pumzi yako.
ਤਿਸਹਿ ਤਿਆਗਿ ਅਵਰ ਲਪਟਾਵਹਿ ਮਰਿ ਜਨਮਹਿ ਮੁਗਧ ਗਵਾਰਾ ॥੧॥
tiseh ti-aag avar laptaavahi mar janmeh mugaDh gavaaraa. ||1||
O’ ignorant fool, forsaking God, you are clinging to worldly things; you would keep going in the cycles of birth and death. ||1||
Ee mpumbavu mjinga, ukiacha Mungu, unakwamilia vitu vya kidunia; utaendelea kupitia mizunguko ya kuzaliwa na kufa.
ਅੰਧ ਗੁੰਗ ਪਿੰਗੁਲ ਮਤਿ ਹੀਨਾ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਰਾਖਹੁ ਰਾਖਨਹਾਰਾ ॥
anDh gung pingul mat heenaa parabh raakho raakhanhaaraa.
O’ the savior God, Maya has blinded these ignorant people, they have become dumb to sing Your praises and crippled to walk Your way; please save them.
Ee mwokozi Mungu, Maya imepofusha hao watu wajinga, wamekuwa bubu kwa kuimba sifa zako na vilema kwa kutembea kwenye njia yako; tafadhali waokoe.
ਕਰਨ ਕਰਾਵਨਹਾਰ ਸਮਰਥਾ ਕਿਆ ਨਾਨਕ ਜੰਤ ਬਿਚਾਰਾ ॥੨॥੧੧॥
karan karaavanhaar samrathaa ki-aa naanak jant bichaaraa. ||2||11||
O’ God, You are capable of doing and causing everything to be done; O’ Nanak, what can these helpless beings do? ||2||11||

ਸਿਮਰਿ ਧਿਆਇ ਗਾਇ ਗੁਨ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਦਿਨੁ ਰੈਨਿ ਸਾਝ ਸਵੇਰੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
simar Dhi-aa-ay gaa-ay gun gobind din rain saajh savayrai. ||1|| rahaa-o.
Day and night, in the evening and morning, remember Him, meditate upon Him, and sing the praises of that Master of the universe.||1||Pause||
Mchana na usiku, jioni na asubuhi, mkumbuke Yeye, tafakari kuhusu Yeye, na uimbe sifa za Bwana huyo wa ulimwengu. ||1||Sitisha||
ਉਧਰੁ ਦੇਹ ਦੁਲਭ ਸਾਧੂ ਸੰਗਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਜਪੇਰੈ ॥
uDhar dayh dulabh saaDhoo sang har har naam japayrai.
Save your valuable human life from drowning in the ocean of vices by meditating on God’s Name in the company of the Guru.
Okoa maisha yako yenye thamani kutoka kuzama katika bahari ya dhambi kwa kutafakari kuhusu Jina la Mungu katika uandamano wa Guru.
ਘਰੀ ਨ ਮੁਹਤੁ ਨ ਚਸਾ ਬਿਲੰਬਹੁ ਕਾਲੁ ਨਿਤਹਿ ਨਿਤ ਹੇਰੈ ॥੧॥
gharee na muhat na chasaa bilambahu kaal niteh nit hayrai. ||1||
Do not delay for an instant, even for a moment in remembering God; the demon of death is keeping you constantly under watch. ||1||
Usichelee hata kwa muda mfupi, hata kwa muda mfupi katika kumkumbuka Mungu; pepo wa kifo anakuweka katika mtazamo wake kila wakati.
ਅੰਧ ਬਿਲਾ ਤੇ ਕਾਢਹੁ ਕਰਤੇ ਕਿਆ ਨਾਹੀ ਘਰਿ ਤੇਰੈ ॥
anDh bilaa tay kaadhahu kartay ki-aa naahee ghar tayrai.
O’ Creator, You lack nothing, please pull me out of this dark dungeon of vices,
Ee Muumba, Wewe hukosi chochote, tafadhali niokoe kutoka kwa gereza lenye giza la maovu.
ਨਾਮੁ ਅਧਾਰੁ ਦੀਜੈ ਨਾਨਕ ਕਉ ਆਨਦ ਸੂਖ ਘਨੇਰੈ ॥੨॥੧੨॥ ਛਕੇ ੨ ॥
naam aDhaar deejai naanak ka-o aanad sookh ghanayrai. ||2||12|| chhakay 2.

ਸੂਖ ਸਹਜ ਆਨੰਦ ਮੰਗਲ ਰਸ ਜੀਵਨ ਕਾ ਮੂਲੁ ਬਾਧਿਓ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
sookh sahj aanand mangal ras jeevan kaa mool baaDhi-o. ||1|| rahaa-o.
has laid the foundation of a life of spiritual poise, bliss and pleasure. ||1||Pause||
ameweka msingi wa maisha ya utulivu wa kiroho, raha tele na kuburudika. ||1||Sitisha||
ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਅਪੁਨਾ ਦਾਸੁ ਕੀਨੋ ਕਾਟੇ ਮਾਇਆ ਫਾਧਿਓ ॥
kar kirpaa apunaa daas keeno kaatay maa-i-aa faaDhi-o.
Showing His mercy, God has made him His devotee and has cut off his bonds of worldly attachment.
Akionyesha huruma yake, Mungu amemfanya mtawa wake na amekata vifungo vyake ya kiambatisho cha kidunia.
ਭਾਉ ਭਗਤਿ ਗਾਇ ਗੁਣ ਗੋਬਿਦ ਜਮ ਕਾ ਮਾਰਗੁ ਸਾਧਿਓ ॥੧॥
bhaa-o bhagat gaa-ay gun gobid jam kaa maarag saaDhi-o. ||1||
Then through loving devotional worship and singing God’s praises, that person has conquered the fear of death. ||1||
Kisha kwa ibada ya ujitoaji wa upendo na kuimba sifa za Mungu, mtu huyo ameshinda hofu ya kifo.
ਭਇਓ ਅਨੁਗ੍ਰਹੁ ਮਿਟਿਓ ਮੋਰਚਾ ਅਮੋਲ ਪਦਾਰਥੁ ਲਾਧਿਓ ॥
bha-i-o anoograhu miti-o morchaa amol padaarath laaDhi-o.
The person on whom God bestowed mercy, the rust of the love of Maya from his mind was removed and he received the priceless commodity of Naam.
Mtu ambaye Mungu ametawazia huruma, kutu ya upendo wa Maya kutoka kwa akili yake ilitolewa na alipokea bidhaa isiyokadirika ya Naam.
ਬਲਿਹਾਰੈ ਨਾਨਕ ਲਖ ਬੇਰਾ ਮੇਰੇ ਠਾਕੁਰ ਅਗਮ ਅਗਾਧਿਓ ॥੨॥੧੩॥
balihaarai naanak lakh bayraa mayray thaakur agam agaaDhi-o. ||2||13||
O’ Nanak, I dedicate myself millions of times over to my that Master-God who is incomprehensible and has infinite virtues. ||2||13||
Nanak, najiweka wakfu mara milioni kwa Bwana-Mungu huyo ambaye hawezi kueleweka na ana fadhila zisizo na mwisho.
