ਤੂ ਕਰਤਾ ਸਭੁ ਕਿਛੁ ਜਾਣਦਾ ਜੋ ਜੀਆ ਅੰਦਰਿ ਵਰਤੈ ॥
too kartaa sabh kichh jaandaa jo jee-aa andar vartai.
O’ Creator, You know everything which occurs in the minds of the beings.
Ee Muumba, wajua kila kitu kinachofanyika katika mawazo ya viumbe.
ਤੂ ਕਰਤਾ ਆਪਿ ਅਗਣਤੁ ਹੈ ਸਭੁ ਜਗੁ ਵਿਚਿ ਗਣਤੈ ॥
too kartaa aap agnat hai sabh jag vich gantai.
O’ Creator, You Yourself are above any kind of accounting, yet all others in the world are doing some counting and worrying about one thing or the other.
Eh Muumba, wewe mwenyewe ni mkuu sana na huhitaji kutoa hesabu yoyote ile
ਸਭੁ ਕੀਤਾ ਤੇਰਾ ਵਰਤਦਾ ਸਭ ਤੇਰੀ ਬਣਤੈ ॥
sabh keetaa tayraa varatdaa sabh tayree bantai.
Everything happens according to Your Will, because all is Your creation.
Kila kitu kinatendeka kulingana na mapenzi yako kwa sababu vyote ni viumbe vyako.
ਤੂ ਘਟਿ ਘਟਿ ਇਕੁ ਵਰਤਦਾ ਸਚੁ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਚਲਤੈ ॥
too ghat ghat ik varatdaa sach saahib chaltai.
O’ true Master, such is Your wondrous play that even though You are only one, yet You pervade each and every heart.
Eh Bwana wa kweli, haya ni matendo yako ya ajabu kwamba japo uko mmoja, bado unaingia na kupenya katika kila moyo.
ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਨੋ ਮਿਲੇ ਸੁ ਹਰਿ ਮਿਲੇ ਨਾਹੀ ਕਿਸੈ ਪਰਤੈ ॥੨੪॥
satgur no milay so har milay naahee kisai partai. ||24||
The one who meets the True Guru, unites with God and no one can turn him away. ||24||
Anayetukana na Guru wa kweli anaungana Munguna hakuna yeyote awezayekumbadili kutokana na msimamo huu. ||24||

ਇਹੁ ਮਨੂਆ ਦ੍ਰਿੜੁ ਕਰਿ ਰਖੀਐ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਲਾਈਐ ਚਿਤੁ ॥
ih manoo-aa darirh kar rakhee-ai gurmukh laa-ee-ai chit.
If through the Guru’s teaching, we focus our mind on God and keep it steady and stable from running after worldly wealth.
Ikiwa kupitia kwa mafunzo yake Guru, tunaelekea akili zetu kwake Mungu na kuimarisha kutokana na kufuata mali ya duniani.
ਕਿਉ ਸਾਸਿ ਗਿਰਾਸਿ ਵਿਸਾਰੀਐ ਬਹਦਿਆ ਉਠਦਿਆ ਨਿਤ ॥
ki-o saas giraas visaaree-ai bahdi-aa uth-di-aa nit.
And if we do not forsake Him even for an instant while doing our daily routines.
Na ikiwa hatutamuacha hata kwa muda mchache huku tukiendelea na mambo yetu ya kila siku.
ਮਰਣ ਜੀਵਣ ਕੀ ਚਿੰਤਾ ਗਈ ਇਹੁ ਜੀਅੜਾ ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਵਸਿ ॥
maran jeevan kee chintaa ga-ee ih jee-arhaa har parabh vas.
The soul comes under God’s control as if one has totally surrendered to God, andthen all the worries regarding birth and death ends.
Roho huwa chini ya utawala wa Mungu kana kwamba mtu amejitoa kabisa kwake Mungu,kisha matatizo yote yanayohusu kuzaliwa na kufa yanaisha.
ਜਿਉ ਭਾਵੈ ਤਿਉ ਰਖੁ ਤੂ ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮੁ ਬਖਸਿ ॥੧॥
ji-o bhaavai ti-o rakh too jan naanak naam bakhas. ||1||
Nanak says, O’ God, save me as it pleases You and bless me with Naam. ||1||.
Nanak anasema, ewe Mungu niokoe kama inavyokupendeza na unibariki na Naam.

ਮਨਮੁਖੁ ਅਹੰਕਾਰੀ ਮਹਲੁ ਨ ਜਾਣੈ ਖਿਨੁ ਆਗੈ ਖਿਨੁ ਪੀਛੈ ॥
manmukh ahaNkaaree mahal na jaanai khin aagai khin peechhai.
The egotistical, self-willed does not know the way to the Guru’s congregation; one moment he moves forward and next recedes away from the Guru.
Aliyejaa madaha na mwenye kutimiza mapenzi yake mwenyewe hafahamu njia ya washirika wake Guru; wakati mmoja anasonga mbele, wakati mwingine anarudi mbali na Guru.
ਸਦਾ ਬੁਲਾਈਐ ਮਹਲਿ ਨ ਆਵੈ ਕਿਉ ਕਰਿ ਦਰਗਹ ਸੀਝੈ ॥
sadaa bulaa-ee-ai mahal na aavai ki-o kar dargeh seejhai.
In spite of being always invited, he does not come to the holy congregation. How shall he be accepted in God’s court?
Hata baada ya kualikwa kila wakati, haji kwa ushirika mtakatifu. Je, atakubalika vipi katika mahakama ya Mungu?
ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਕਾ ਮਹਲੁ ਵਿਰਲਾ ਜਾਣੈ ਸਦਾ ਰਹੈ ਕਰ ਜੋੜਿ ॥
satgur kaa mahal virlaa jaanai sadaa rahai kar jorh.
Only a very rare person, who always remains very humble and ready to follow the Guru’s teachings, knows the worth of the holy congregation.
Ni mtu nadra tu, ambaye husalia kuwa mnyenyekevu na mwenye kuwa tayari kufuata mafunzo ya Guru, anayejua dhamana ya washirika takatifu.
ਆਪਣੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਕਰੇ ਹਰਿ ਮੇਰਾ ਨਾਨਕ ਲਏ ਬਹੋੜਿ ॥੨॥
aapnee kirpaa karay har mayraa naanak la-ay bahorh. ||2||
O’ Nanak,the one on whom my God bestows His grace, He brings back such a person to the right path towards the Guru.||2||
Ewe Nanak, ambaye Mungu anampa neema yake, anamrudisha mtu huyu kwa njia ya Guru.

ਸਾ ਸੇਵਾ ਕੀਤੀ ਸਫਲ ਹੈ ਜਿਤੁ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਕਾ ਮਨੁ ਮੰਨੇ ॥
saa sayvaa keetee safal hai jit satgur kaa man mannay.
Fruitful and rewarding is that service, which is pleasing to the Guru’s Mind.
Huduma inayopendeza mawazo ya Guru huwa imesheheni mazao na yenye kutuza.
ਜਾ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਕਾ ਮਨੁ ਮੰਨਿਆ ਤਾ ਪਾਪ ਕਸੰਮਲ ਭੰਨੇ ॥
jaa satgur kaa man mani-aa taa paap kasamal bhannay.
When the Guru’s mind is pleased all our sins and evil deeds are destroyed.
Guru anapofurahishwa, dhambi na matendo yetu maovu yanaharibiwa.
ਉਪਦੇਸੁ ਜਿ ਦਿਤਾ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਸੋ ਸੁਣਿਆ ਸਿਖੀ ਕੰਨੇ ॥
updays je ditaa satguroo so suni-aa sikhee kannay.
The Sikhs (disciples) carefully listen to the teachings imparted by the True Guru.
Wasiki (wanafunzi) husikiliza kwa mafunzo yanayotolewa na Guru kwa makini.
ਜਿਨ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਕਾ ਭਾਣਾ ਮੰਨਿਆ ਤਿਨ ਚੜੀ ਚਵਗਣਿ ਵੰਨੇ ॥
jin satgur kaa bhaanaa mani-aa tin charhee chavgan vannay.
Those who have accepted the true Guru’s Will, their glory multiplied many times.
Wote waliokubali mapenzi yake huyu Guru wa kweli, utukufu wao ulizidishwa mara dufu.
ਇਹ ਚਾਲ ਨਿਰਾਲੀ ਗੁਰਮੁਖੀ ਗੁਰ ਦੀਖਿਆ ਸੁਣਿ ਮਨੁ ਭਿੰਨੇ ॥੨੫॥
ih chaal niraalee gurmukhee gur deekhi-aa sun man bhinnay. ||25||
This lifestyle of the Guru’s followers is unique, that by listening to the Guru’s teachings, their mind becomes imbued with the love of God.||25||
Huu mtindo na mfumo wa maisha ya wafuasi wa Guru ni wa kipekee, kwamba kwa kupitia tu kwa wao kusikiliza mafunzo ya Guru, akili zao zinaungana na upendo wa Mungu.

ਜਿਨਿ ਗੁਰੁ ਗੋਪਿਆ ਆਪਣਾ ਤਿਸੁ ਠਉਰ ਨ ਠਾਉ ॥
jin gur gopi-aa aapnaa tis tha-ur na thaa-o.
He who has slandered his Guru, has no place of shelter anywhere.
Yeyote aliyemdharau Guru wake hana makao popote.
ਹਲਤੁ ਪਲਤੁ ਦੋਵੈ ਗਏ ਦਰਗਹ ਨਾਹੀ ਥਾਉ ॥
halat palat dovai ga-ay dargeh naahee thaa-o.
He has lost both this world and the next, and has no place in God’s court.
Amepoteza dunia hii na ijayo hivyo basi hana nafasi katika makao ya
ਓਹ ਵੇਲਾ ਹਥਿ ਨ ਆਵਈ ਫਿਰਿ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਲਗਹਿ ਪਾਇ ॥
oh vaylaa hath na aavee fir satgur lageh paa-ay.
He doesn’t get another opportunity to reaffirm his faith to the true Guru.
Hapati fursa nyingine ya kukiri imani yake kwake Guru wa kweli.
ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਕੀ ਗਣਤੈ ਘੁਸੀਐ ਦੁਖੇ ਦੁਖਿ ਵਿਹਾਇ ॥
satgur kee gantai ghusee-ai dukhay dukh vihaa-ay.
If one misses out on being counted as the Guru’s true follower, then he passes his entire life in sorrows.
Iwapo yeyote atakosa kuhesabiwa kama mfuasi halisi wa Guru wa kweli, maisha yake yote yatakuwa yenye huzunu. .
ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਨਿਰਵੈਰੁ ਹੈ ਆਪੇ ਲਏ ਜਿਸੁ ਲਾਇ ॥
satgur purakh nirvair hai aapay la-ay jis laa-ay.
The True Guru has no enmity with anyone and he unites with himself whoever he wants.
Guru wa kweli hana uadui wowote na yeyote yule naye anajiunganisha na yeyote mwenyewe anataka kuunganika naye.
ਨਾਨਕ ਦਰਸਨੁ ਜਿਨਾ ਵੇਖਾਲਿਓਨੁ ਤਿਨਾ ਦਰਗਹ ਲਏ ਛਡਾਇ ॥੧॥
naanak darsan jinaa vaykhaali-on tinaa dargeh la-ay chhadaa-ay. ||1||
O’ Nanak, whom the Guru makes realize God, he gets him liberated in God’s court.||1||
Ewe Nanak, yeyote anayemjua Mungu kupitia kwa Guru anapata uhuru nyumbani mwa Mungu.||1||

ਮਨਮੁਖੁ ਅਗਿਆਨੁ ਦੁਰਮਤਿ ਅਹੰਕਾਰੀ ॥
manmukh agi-aan durmat ahaNkaaree.
The self-willed person is ignorant, evil-minded and egotistical.
Mtu mwenye hiari binafsi ni mpumbavu, mwenye mawazo potovu na mwenye ubinafsi.
ਅੰਤਰਿ ਕ੍ਰੋਧੁ ਜੂਐ ਮਤਿ ਹਾਰੀ ॥
antar kroDh joo-ai mat haaree.
He is filled with anger within, and he loses his intellect in the game of life.
Ndani yake amejawa hasira, na anapoteza fikra zake katika mchezo wa maisha.
ਕੂੜੁ ਕੁਸਤੁ ਓਹੁ ਪਾਪ ਕਮਾਵੈ ॥
koorh kusat oh paap kamaavai.
He always indulges in falsehood, deceit and sin.
Yeye anajihusisha kila mara na uongo,hila na dhambi.
ਕਿਆ ਓਹੁ ਸੁਣੈ ਕਿਆ ਆਖਿ ਸੁਣਾਵੈ ॥
ki-aa oh sunai ki-aa aakh sunaavai.
What can he listen, and what can he tell others?
Je,atasikiliza nini wala kuambia wengine nini?
ਅੰਨਾ ਬੋਲਾ ਖੁਇ ਉਝੜਿ ਪਾਇ ॥
annaa bolaa khu-ay ujharh paa-ay.
He is blind to the sight of the Guru and deaf to any righteous advice, and therefore keeps wandering in the wilderness of worldly attachments.
Yeye ni kipofu na hamwoni Guru vile vile kiziwi kwa mawaidha yoyote ya utakatifu. Kwa hivyo yeye hurandaranda katika jangwa la vitu vya duniani.
ਮਨਮੁਖੁ ਅੰਧਾ ਆਵੈ ਜਾਇ ॥
manmukh anDhaa aavai jaa-ay.
The self-willed spiritually blind, keeps suffering in the cycles of birth and death.
Kipofu wa kiroho na ambaye ni mwenye kutimiza mapenzi yake mwenyewe anazidi kuugua kwa mizunguko ya kuzaliwa na kufa.
ਬਿਨੁ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਭੇਟੇ ਥਾਇ ਨ ਪਾਇ ॥
bin satgur bhaytay thaa-ay na paa-ay.
without meeting the True Guru, he finds no place in God’s court.
pasipo na kukutana na Guru wa kweli, hapati nafasi katika mahakama ya Mungu.
ਨਾਨਕ ਪੂਰਬਿ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਕਮਾਇ ॥੨॥
naanak poorab likhi-aa kamaa-ay. ||2||
O’ Nanak, he acts according to his preordained destiny. ||2||
Ewe Nanak, yeye anatenda kulingana na hatima yake iliyoagiziwa mapema.||2||

ਜਿਨ ਕੇ ਚਿਤ ਕਠੋਰ ਹਹਿ ਸੇ ਬਹਹਿ ਨ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪਾਸਿ ॥
jin kay chit kathor heh say baheh na satgur paas.
Those who are cruel hearted, they do not sit in the company of the True Guru.
Walio na mioyo katili hawaketi katika uandamano wa Guru wa kweli.
ਓਥੈ ਸਚੁ ਵਰਤਦਾ ਕੂੜਿਆਰਾ ਚਿਤ ਉਦਾਸਿ ॥
othai sach varatdaa koorhi-aaraa chit udaas.
All truth prevails in the holy congregation which makes the liars sad.
Ukweli wote unadumu miongoni mwa washirika watakatifu, jambo linalowahuzunisha waongo.
ਓਇ ਵਲੁ ਛਲੁ ਕਰਿ ਝਤਿ ਕਢਦੇ ਫਿਰਿ ਜਾਇ ਬਹਹਿ ਕੂੜਿਆਰਾ ਪਾਸਿ ॥
o-ay val chhal kar jhat kadh-day fir jaa-ay baheh koorhi-aaraa paas.
By hook or by crook, they pass their time, and then they go back to sit with the false ones again.
Wanaharibu muda wao kwa udi na uvumba kisha wanarudi kuketi na waongo tena.
ਵਿਚਿ ਸਚੇ ਕੂੜੁ ਨ ਗਡਈ ਮਨਿ ਵੇਖਹੁ ਕੋ ਨਿਰਜਾਸਿ ॥
vich sachay koorh na gad-ee man vaykhhu ko nirjaas.
O people, check it out and see, falsehood does not mix with the Truth;
Enyi watu, tazameni muone kuwa uongo havitangamani na ukweli;
ਕੂੜਿਆਰ ਕੂੜਿਆਰੀ ਜਾਇ ਰਲੇ ਸਚਿਆਰ ਸਿਖ ਬੈਠੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪਾਸਿ ॥੨੬॥
koorhi-aar khoorhi-aaree jaa-ay ralay sachiaar sikh baithay satgur paas. ||26||
The false ones go and mix with their false fellows and the truthful disciples sit in the congregation of the true Guru.||26||
Waongo huenda na kuchanganyika na waongo wenzao ilhali wanafunzi wa ukweli wakaketi miongoni mwa washirika wa Guru wa kweli. ||26||
