ਏਹੁ ਜੋਗੁ ਨ ਹੋਵੈ ਜੋਗੀ ਜਿ ਕੁਟੰਬੁ ਛੋਡਿ ਪਰਭਵਣੁ ਕਰਹਿ ॥
ayhu jog na hovai jogee je kutamb chhod parbhavan karahi.
O Yogi, this is not Yoga, that you abandon your family and wander around.
Ee Yogi, hii siyo Yoga, ambapo unaacha familia yako na kuzurura kote.
ਗ੍ਰਿਹ ਸਰੀਰ ਮਹਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਗੁਰ ਪਰਸਾਦੀ ਅਪਣਾ ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਲਹਹਿ ॥੮॥
garih sareer meh har har naam gur parsaadee apnaa har parabh laheh. ||8||
God is dwelling in your body; you can realize Him through the Guru’s grace. ||8||
Mungu anaishi katika mwili wako; unaweza kumgundua Yeye kupitia kwa neema ya Guru.
ਇਹੁ ਜਗਤੁ ਮਿਟੀ ਕਾ ਪੁਤਲਾ ਜੋਗੀ ਇਸੁ ਮਹਿ ਰੋਗੁ ਵਡਾ ਤ੍ਰਿਸਨਾ ਮਾਇਆ ॥
ih jagat mitee kaa putlaa jogee is meh rog vadaa tarisnaa maa-i-aa.
O’ yogi, this world is like a puppet of clay and it is afflicted with the terrible disease of yearning for worldly wealth and power.
Ee Yogi, dunia hii ni kama karagosi ya udongo na imeathiriwa na ugonjwa mbaya wa tamaa ya utajiri na mamlaka ya kidunia.
ਅਨੇਕ ਜਤਨ ਭੇਖ ਕਰੇ ਜੋਗੀ ਰੋਗੁ ਨ ਜਾਇ ਗਵਾਇਆ ॥੯॥
anayk jatan bhaykh karay jogee rog na jaa-ay gavaa-i-aa. ||9||
O’ yogi, even if one wears holy garbs and makes innumerable efforts, even thenthis malady cannot be eradicated ||9||
Ee yogi, hata iwapo mtu avae mavazi takatifu na kufanya jitihada zisizohesabika, hata wakati huo ugonjwa huu hauwezi kutokomezwa.
ਹਰਿ ਕਾ ਨਾਮੁ ਅਉਖਧੁ ਹੈ ਜੋਗੀ ਜਿਸ ਨੋ ਮੰਨਿ ਵਸਾਏ ॥
har kaa naam a-ukhaDh hai jogee jis no man vasaa-ay.
O’ yogi, the cure for it is God’s Name, but only that person receives this medicine in whose mind God Himself enshrines it.
Ee yogi, tiba yake ni Jina la Mungu, lakini mtu huyo peke yake anapokea dawa hii ambaye Mungu Mwenyewe anaithamini akilini mwake.
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਹੋਵੈ ਸੋਈ ਬੂਝੈ ਜੋਗ ਜੁਗਤਿ ਸੋ ਪਾਏ ॥੧੦॥
gurmukh hovai so-ee boojhai jog jugat so paa-ay. ||10||
That person alone understands this secret who follows the Guru’s teachings, and he alone finds the true way of yoga, the union with God. ||10||
Mtu huyo peke yake anaelewa siri hii anayefuata mafundisho ya Guru, na yeye peke yake anapata njia ya kweli ya yoga, muungano na Mungu.
ਜੋਗੈ ਕਾ ਮਾਰਗੁ ਬਿਖਮੁ ਹੈ ਜੋਗੀ ਜਿਸ ਨੋ ਨਦਰਿ ਕਰੇ ਸੋ ਪਾਏ ॥
jogai kaa maarag bikham hai jogee jis no nadar karay so paa-ay.
O’ yogi the path of yoga (union with God) is difficult; he alone finds it, upon whom God bestows gace.
Ee yogi! Njia ya yoga (muungano na Mungu) ni ngumu; yeye peke yake anaipata, ambaye Mungu anamtawazia neema.
ਅੰਤਰਿ ਬਾਹਰਿ ਏਕੋ ਵੇਖੈ ਵਿਚਹੁ ਭਰਮੁ ਚੁਕਾਏ ॥੧੧॥
antar baahar ayko vaykhai vichahu bharam chukaa-ay. ||11||
He eradicates doubt from his mind and experiences the same one God within himself and everywhere. ||11||
Yeye anatokomeza shaka kutoka kwa akili yake na kuhisi Mungu huyo mmoja ndani mwake na kila mahali.
ਵਿਣੁ ਵਜਾਈ ਕਿੰਗੁਰੀ ਵਾਜੈ ਜੋਗੀ ਸਾ ਕਿੰਗੁਰੀ ਵਜਾਇ ॥
vin vajaa-ee kinguree vaajai jogee saa kinguree vajaa-ay.
O’ yogi, play that harp which rings within the mind without playing.
Ee yogi, cheza kinubi hicho kinachotetema ndani mwa aklli bila kuchezwa.
ਕਹੈ ਨਾਨਕੁ ਮੁਕਤਿ ਹੋਵਹਿ ਜੋਗੀ ਸਾਚੇ ਰਹਹਿ ਸਮਾਇ ॥੧੨॥੧॥੧੦॥
kahai naanak mukat hoveh jogee saachay raheh samaa-ay. ||12||1||10||
Nanak says! O’ yogi, you will be liberated from the vices and will remain merged in the eternal God. ||12||1||10||
Nanak anasema! Ee yogi, utakombolewa kutoka kwa maovu na utabaki umeunganishwa katika Mungu wa milele.

bhagat khajaanaa gurmukh jaataa satgur boojh bujhaa-ee. ||1||
Only Guru’s follower has understood the worth of the treasure of God’s devotional worship; the true Guru has blessed him with this understanding. ||1||
Mfuasi wa Guru peke yake ameelewa thamani ya hazina ya ibada ya ujitoaji ya Mungu; Guru wa kweli amembariki na uelewa huu.
ਸੰਤਹੁ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਦੇਇ ਵਡਿਆਈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

ਸਚਿ ਰਹਹੁ ਸਦਾ ਸਹਜੁ ਸੁਖੁ ਉਪਜੈ ਕਾਮੁ ਕ੍ਰੋਧੁ ਵਿਚਹੁ ਜਾਈ ॥੨॥
sach rahhu sadaa sahj sukh upjai kaam kroDh vichahu jaa-ee. ||2||
Those who remain attuned to the eternal God, poise and celestial peace wells up within them; their lust and anger are eliminated from within. ||2||
Wale wanaobaki wamemakinikia Mungu wa milele, utulivu na amani ya kimbingu inajaa ndani mwao; ukware na hasira yao inaondolewa kutoka ndani mwao.
ਆਪੁ ਛੋਡਿ ਨਾਮ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਗੀ ਮਮਤਾ ਸਬਦਿ ਜਲਾਈ ॥੩॥
aap chhod naam liv laagee mamtaa sabad jalaa-ee. ||3||
Those who eradicate their ego and attune to God, they burn away their love for worldly attachments through the Guru’s divine word. ||3||
Wale wanaotokomeza ubinafsi wao na kumakinikia Mungu, wanateketeza upendo wao wa viambatisho vya kidunia kupitia neno takatifu la Guru.
ਜਿਸ ਤੇ ਉਪਜੈ ਤਿਸ ਤੇ ਬਿਨਸੈ ਅੰਤੇ ਨਾਮੁ ਸਖਾਈ ॥੪॥
jis tay upjai tis tay binsai antay naam sakhaa-ee. ||4||
The human beings are created and destroyed by the same God; in the end, God’s Name alone becomes the companion. ||4||
Binadamu wanaumbwa na kuangamizwa na Mungu huyo mmoja; mwishowe, Jina la Mungu peke yake linakuwa mwendani.
ਸਦਾ ਹਜੂਰਿ ਦੂਰਿ ਨਹ ਦੇਖਹੁ ਰਚਨਾ ਜਿਨਿ ਰਚਾਈ ॥੫॥
sadaa hajoor door nah daykhhu rachnaa jin rachaa-ee. ||5||
God who created this creation is always close by, do not deem Him far. ||5||
Mungu aliyeumba uumbaji huu daima yu karibu, usimfikirie Yeye kuwa mbali.
ਸਚਾ ਸਬਦੁ ਰਵੈ ਘਟ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਸਚੇ ਸਿਉ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਈ ॥੬॥
sachaa sabad ravai ghat antar sachay si-o liv laa-ee. ||6||
By attuning to the eternal God, the divine word of His praises remains enshrined within the heart. ||6|
Kwa kumakinikia Mungu wa milele, neno takatifu la sifa Zake linabaki limethaminiwa ndani mwa moyo.
ਸਤਸੰਗਤਿ ਮਹਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਨਿਰਮੋਲਕੁ ਵਡੈ ਭਾਗਿ ਪਾਇਆ ਜਾਈ ॥੭॥
satsangat meh naam nirmolak vadai bhaag paa-i-aa jaa-ee. ||7||
It is only by great good fortune that the invaluable Name of God is attained in the company of saintly persons. ||7||
Ni kwa bahati nzuri kuu tu ambapo Jina la Mungu lisiloweza kukadiriwa linapatwa katika uandamano wa watu watakatifu.
ਭਰਮਿ ਨ ਭੂਲਹੁ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਸੇਵਹੁ ਮਨੁ ਰਾਖਹੁ ਇਕ ਠਾਈ ॥੮॥
bharam na bhoolahu satgur sayvhu man raakho ik thaa-ee. ||8||
Do not be deluded by doubt; follow the true Guru’s teachings and keep your mind steady in one place, the immaculate Name of God. ||8||
Usidanganywe na shaka; fuata mafundisho ya Guru wa kweli na uweke akili yako thabiti mahali moja, Jina takatifu la Mungu.
ਬਿਨੁ ਨਾਵੈ ਸਭ ਭੂਲੀ ਫਿਰਦੀ ਬਿਰਥਾ ਜਨਮੁ ਗਵਾਈ ॥੯॥
bin naavai sabh bhoolee firdee birthaa janam gavaa-ee. ||9||
Without remembering God’s Name, everyone is wandering in doubt and are wasting their life in vain. ||9||
Bila kukumbuka Jina la Mungu, watu wote wanazurura katika shaka na wanatumia vibaya maisha yao bure.
ਜੋਗੀ ਜੁਗਤਿ ਗਵਾਈ ਹੰਢੈ ਪਾਖੰਡਿ ਜੋਗੁ ਨ ਪਾਈ ॥੧੦॥
jogee jugat gavaa-ee handhai pakhand jog na paa-ee. ||10||
O’ yogi, having lost the true way of yoga (union with God), you are wandering around; yoga cannot be achieved through hypocrisy. ||10||
Ee yogi, ukiwa umepoteza njia ya kweli ya yoga (muungano na Mungu), unazurura kote; yoga haiwezi kutimizwa kupitia unafiki.
ਸਿਵ ਨਗਰੀ ਮਹਿ ਆਸਣਿ ਬੈਸੈ ਗੁਰ ਸਬਦੀ ਜੋਗੁ ਪਾਈ ॥੧੧॥
siv nagree meh aasan baisai gur sabdee jog paa-ee. ||11||
One who joins the holy congregation, he attains union with God by attuning to the Guru’s word. ||11||
Yule anayejiunga na ushirika mtakatifu, yeye anatimiza muungano na Mungu kwa kumakinikia neno la Guru.
ਧਾਤੁਰ ਬਾਜੀ ਸਬਦਿ ਨਿਵਾਰੇ ਨਾਮੁ ਵਸੈ ਮਨਿ ਆਈ ॥੧੨॥
Dhaatur baajee sabad nivaaray naam vasai man aa-ee. ||12||
One in whose mind God manifests, through the Guru’s word he ends the game of wandering after worldly riches and power. ||12||
Yule ambaye akilini mwake Mungu anadhihirika, kupitia kwa neno la Guru yeye anatamatisha mchezo wa kuzurura akitafuta utajiri na mamlaka ya kidunia.
ਏਹੁ ਸਰੀਰੁ ਸਰਵਰੁ ਹੈ ਸੰਤਹੁ ਇਸਨਾਨੁ ਕਰੇ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਈ ॥੧੩॥
ayhu sareer sarvar hai santahu isnaan karay liv laa-ee. ||13||
O’ saints, this body is like a pool of the nectar of God’s Name, one who attunes his mind to God’s Name is bathing in it. ||13|| .
Ee watakatifu, mwili huu ni kama kidimbwi cha nekta ya Jina la Mungu, mtu anayepatanisha akili yake kwa Jina la Mungu anaoga ndani mwake.
ਨਾਮਿ ਇਸਨਾਨੁ ਕਰਹਿ ਸੇ ਜਨ ਨਿਰਮਲ ਸਬਦੇ ਮੈਲੁ ਗਵਾਈ ॥੧੪॥
naam isnaan karahi say jan nirmal sabday mail gavaa-ee. ||14||
Those who bathe in the nectar of God’s Name, are the most immaculate people;through the Guru’s word, they have washed off the filth of vices. ||14||
Wale wanaooga katika nekta ya Jina la Mungu, ni watu watakatifu kabisa; kupitia kwa neno la Guru, wamesafisha uchafu wa maovu.
ਤ੍ਰੈ ਗੁਣ ਅਚੇਤ ਨਾਮੁ ਚੇਤਹਿ ਨਾਹੀ ਬਿਨੁ ਨਾਵੈ ਬਿਨਸਿ ਜਾਈ ॥੧੫॥
tarai gun achayt naam cheeteh naahee bin naavai binas jaa-ee. ||15||
Engrossed in the three modes of Maya, people do not remember God’s Name; without Naam, they spiritually deteriorate. ||15||
Kwa kuvama katika mbinu tatu za Maya, watu hawakumbuki Jina la Mungu; bila Naam, wanazorota kiroho.
ਬ੍ਰਹਮਾ ਬਿਸਨੁ ਮਹੇਸੁ ਤ੍ਰੈ ਮੂਰਤਿ ਤ੍ਰਿਗੁਣਿ ਭਰਮਿ ਭੁਲਾਈ ॥੧੬॥
barahmaa bisan mahays tarai moorat tarigun bharam bhulaa-ee. ||16||
Even the angels like Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva, all three are lost in the illusion of the three modes of Maya (vice, virtue and power). ||16||
Hata malaika kama Brahma, Vishnu na Shiva, wote watatu wamepotea katika njozi ya mbinu tatu za Maya (uovu, fadhila na nguvu).
ਗੁਰ ਪਰਸਾਦੀ ਤ੍ਰਿਕੁਟੀ ਛੂਟੈ ਚਉਥੈ ਪਦਿ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਈ ॥੧੭॥
gur parsaadee tarikutee chhootai cha-uthai pad liv laa-ee. ||17||
By the Guru’s Grace, one who rises above the three modes of Maya, attains thefourth state, which is the supreme spiritual status and attunes to God. ||17||
Kwa Neema ya Guru, mtu anayezidi mbinu tatu za Maya, anatimiza hali ya nne, ambayo ni hadhi kuu ya kiroho na anamakinikia Mungu.
ਪੰਡਿਤ ਪੜਹਿ ਪੜਿ ਵਾਦੁ ਵਖਾਣਹਿ ਤਿੰਨਾ ਬੂਝ ਨ ਪਾਈ ॥੧੮॥
pandit parheh parh vaad vakaaneh tinnaa boojh na paa-ee. ||18||
The pundits study the scriptures, and read to people about the arguments in the scriptures, but they themselves don’t undestand the higher spiritual state. ||18||
Wabukuzi wanasoma maandishi takatifu, na kusomea watu kuhusu mabishano katika maandishi takatifu, lakini wao wenyewe hawaelewi hali ya juu zaidi ya kiroho.
ਬਿਖਿਆ ਮਾਤੇ ਭਰਮਿ ਭੁਲਾਏ ਉਪਦੇਸੁ ਕਹਹਿ ਕਿਸੁ ਭਾਈ ॥੧੯॥
bikhi-aa maatay bharam bhulaa-ay updays kaheh kis bhaa-ee. ||19||
O’ brother, engrossed in the love for Maya, they wander in doubt; who can theypossibly teach about righteousness? ||19||
Ee ndugu, kwa kuvama katika upendo wa Maya, wanzurura katika shaka; kweli wanaweza kumfunza nani kuhusu uadilifu?
ਭਗਤ ਜਨਾ ਕੀ ਊਤਮ ਬਾਣੀ ਜੁਗਿ ਜੁਗਿ ਰਹੀ ਸਮਾਈ ॥੨੦॥
bhagat janaa kee ootam banee jug jug rahee samaa-ee. ||20||
The word of the devotees of God is the most sublime and exalted; it prevails throughout the ages and remains effective forever. ||20||
Neno la watawa wa Mungu ni tukufu zaidi na limekwezwa; linadumu kupitia enzi zote na linabaki lenye ufanisi milele.
ਬਾਣੀ ਲਾਗੈ ਸੋ ਗਤਿ ਪਾਏ ਸਬਦੇ ਸਚਿ ਸਮਾਈ ॥੨੧॥
banee laagai so gat paa-ay sabday sach samaa-ee. ||21||
One who attunes to the Guru’s divine word attains the supreme spiritual status; through the Guru’s word he remains merged in the eternal God. ||21||
Yule anayemakinikia neno takatifu la Guru anatimiza hadhi kuu ya kiroho; kupitia kwa neno la Guru anabaki ameunganishwa katika Mungu wa milele.
