ਕਿਸ ਹੀ ਧੜਾ ਕੀਆ ਮਿਤ੍ਰ ਸੁਤ ਨਾਲਿ ਭਾਈ ॥
kis hee Dharhaa kee-aa mitar sut naal bhaa-ee.
Some form alliances with friends, children and siblings.
Wengine wanaunda uhusiano na marafiki, watoto na ndugu.
ਕਿਸ ਹੀ ਧੜਾ ਕੀਆ ਕੁੜਮ ਸਕੇ ਨਾਲਿ ਜਵਾਈ ॥
kis hee Dharhaa kee-aa kurham sakay naal javaa-ee.
Some form alliances with in-laws and relatives (son in-law).
Wengine wanaunda uhusiano na shemeji na jamaa (mwana mkwe).
ਕਿਸ ਹੀ ਧੜਾ ਕੀਆ ਸਿਕਦਾਰ ਚਉਧਰੀ ਨਾਲਿ ਆਪਣੈ ਸੁਆਈ ॥
kis hee Dharhaa kee-aa sikdaar cha-uDhree naal aapnai su-aa-ee.
Some form alliances with chiefs and leaders for their own selfish motives.
Wengine wanaunda uhusiano na machifu na viongozi kwa matilaba yao binafsi.
ਹਮਾਰਾ ਧੜਾ ਹਰਿ ਰਹਿਆ ਸਮਾਈ ॥੧॥
hamaaraa Dharhaa har rahi-aa samaa-ee. ||1||
But my alliance is with God, who is pervading everywhere. ||1||
Lakini uhusiano wangu ni na Mungu, ambaye anaenea kote.
ਹਮ ਹਰਿ ਸਿਉ ਧੜਾ ਕੀਆ ਮੇਰੀ ਹਰਿ ਟੇਕ ॥
ham har si-o Dharhaa kee-aa mayree har tayk.
I have formed my alliance with God and He is my only support.
Nimeunda uhusiano wangu na Mungu na Yeye ni tegemezo yangu ya pekee.
ਮੈ ਹਰਿ ਬਿਨੁ ਪਖੁ ਧੜਾ ਅਵਰੁ ਨ ਕੋਈ ਹਉ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਵਾ ਅਸੰਖ ਅਨੇਕ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
mai har bin pakh Dharhaa avar na ko-ee ha-o har gun gaavaa asaNkh anayk. ||1|| rahaa-o.
Other than God, I have no other faction or alliance and I keep singing of His countless and endless glorious virtues. ||1||Pause||
Isipokuwa Mungu, sina kukundi au uhusiano mwingine na naendelea kuimba fadhila zake tukufu zisizohesabika na zisizo na mwisho. ||1||Sitisha||
ਜਿਨ੍ਹ੍ਹ ਸਿਉ ਧੜੇ ਕਰਹਿ ਸੇ ਜਾਹਿ ॥
jinH si-o Dharhay karahi say jaahi.
They ultimately depart from the world, with whom people form alliances
Mwishowe wanaondoka kutoka dunia, na yule ambao wanaunda uhusiano nao
ਝੂਠੁ ਧੜੇ ਕਰਿ ਪਛੋਤਾਹਿ ॥
jhooth Dharhay kar pachhotaahi.
Making false alliances, people repent and regret in the end.
Wakiunda uhusiano wa uongo, watu wanatubu na kujuta mwishowe.
ਥਿਰੁ ਨ ਰਹਹਿ ਮਨਿ ਖੋਟੁ ਕਮਾਹਿ ॥
thir na raheh man khot kamaahi.
Those who make factions also do not live forever and therefore, unnecessarily keep deceiving themselves and others.
Wale wanaotengeneza vikundi pia hawaishi milele na hivyo basi, bila kuhitaji wanaendelea kujidanganya na kudanganya wengine.
ਹਮ ਹਰਿ ਸਿਉ ਧੜਾ ਕੀਆ ਜਿਸ ਕਾ ਕੋਈ ਸਮਰਥੁ ਨਾਹਿ ॥੨॥
ham har si-o Dharhaa kee-aa jis kaa ko-ee samrath naahi. ||2||
But I have formed pact only with God whom no one can equal in power. ||2||
Lakini mimi nimeunda mkataba na Mungu tu ambaye hakuna anayeweza kulinganisha naye kwa nguvu.
ਏਹ ਸਭਿ ਧੜੇ ਮਾਇਆ ਮੋਹ ਪਸਾਰੀ ॥
ayh sabh Dharhay maa-i-aa moh pasaaree.
All these alliances are mere extensions of the love of Maya.
Mapatano hayo ni viendelezi tu vya upendo wa Maya.
ਮਾਇਆ ਕਉ ਲੂਝਹਿ ਗਾਵਾਰੀ ॥
maa-i-aa ka-o loojheh gaavaaree.
For the sake of Maya, ignorant people keep clashing with each other.
Kwa ajili ya Maya, watu wajinga wanaendelea kuzozana wenyewe kwa wenyewe.
ਜਨਮਿ ਮਰਹਿ ਜੂਐ ਬਾਜੀ ਹਾਰੀ ॥
janam mareh joo-ai baajee haaree.
They lose the game of life and fall in the cycles of birth and death.
Wanapoteza mchezo wa maisha na wanaanguka katika mizunguko ya kuzaliwa na kufa.
ਹਮਰੈ ਹਰਿ ਧੜਾ ਜਿ ਹਲਤੁ ਪਲਤੁ ਸਭੁ ਸਵਾਰੀ ॥੩॥
hamrai har Dharhaa je halat palat sabh savaaree. ||3||
But my alliance is with God, who embellishes my this and the next world. ||3||
Lakini uhusiano wangu na Mungu, anayepamba dunia yangu hii na itakayofuata.
ਕਲਿਜੁਗ ਮਹਿ ਧੜੇ ਪੰਚ ਚੋਰ ਝਗੜਾਏ ॥
kalijug meh Dharhay panch chor jhagrhaa-ay.
In Kalyug, the five vices instigate alliances and conflicts.
Katika Kalyug, maovu tano yanachochea mapatano na mizozano.
ਕਾਮੁ ਕ੍ਰੋਧੁ ਲੋਭੁ ਮੋਹੁ ਅਭਿਮਾਨੁ ਵਧਾਏ ॥
kaam kroDh lobh moh abhimaan vaDhaa-ay.
Lust, anger, greed, emotional attachment and self-conceit have increased.
Ukware, hasira, tamaa, kiambatisho cha kihisia na majivuno binafsi yameongezeka.
ਜਿਸ ਨੋ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਕਰੇ ਤਿਸੁ ਸਤਸੰਗਿ ਮਿਲਾਏ ॥
jis no kirpaa karay tis satsang milaa-ay.
One on whom God shows His mercy, he gets united with the the holy congregation.
Kwa yule ambaye Mungu anaonyesha huruma yake, yeye anaunganishwa katika ushirika mtakatifu.
ਹਮਰਾ ਹਰਿ ਧੜਾ ਜਿਨਿ ਏਹ ਧੜੇ ਸਭਿ ਗਵਾਏ ॥੪॥
hamraa har Dharhaa jin ayh Dharhay sabh gavaa-ay. ||4||
My alliance is with God who has made me abandon all other worldly factions. |4|
Uhusiano wangu na Mungu ambaye amenifanya niache vikundi vingine vyote vya kidunia.
ਮਿਥਿਆ ਦੂਜਾ ਭਾਉ ਧੜੇ ਬਹਿ ਪਾਵੈ ॥
mithi-aa doojaa bhaa-o Dharhay bahi paavai.
False love of duality in the mind of the people creates alliances.
Upendo wa uongo wa uwili akilini mwa watu unaunda mapatano.
ਪਰਾਇਆ ਛਿਦ੍ਰੁ ਅਟਕਲੈ ਆਪਣਾ ਅਹੰਕਾਰੁ ਵਧਾਵੈ ॥
paraa-i-aa chhidar atkalai aapnaa ahaNkaar vaDhaavai.
One makes wild guesses about the fault of others and multiply his own ego by thinking himself superior than others.
Mtu anafanya makisio potovu kuhusu kosa la wengine na kuzidisha ubinafsi wake mwenyewe kwa kujifikiria kuwa mkuu zaidi.
ਜੈਸਾ ਬੀਜੈ ਤੈਸਾ ਖਾਵੈ ॥
jaisaa beejai taisaa khaavai.
As one sows, so does one reap.
Vile mtu anavyolima, ndivyo mtu anavyovuna.
ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਕਾ ਹਰਿ ਧੜਾ ਧਰਮੁ ਸਭ ਸ੍ਰਿਸਟਿ ਜਿਣਿ ਆਵੈ ॥੫॥੨॥੫੪॥
jan naanak kaa har Dharhaa Dharam sabh sarisat jin aavai. ||5||2||54||
The alliance of Nanak is with righteousness and God with whose power one conquering the entire world. ||5||2||54||
Uhusiano wa Nanak ni na uadilifu na Mungu ambaye kwa nguvu yake mtu anatawala dunia nzima.

ਹਿਰਦੈ ਸੁਣਿ ਸੁਣਿ ਮਨਿ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤੁ ਭਾਇਆ ॥
hirdai sun sun man amrit bhaa-i-aa.
One whose mind is pleased with the ambrosial nectar of God’s Name by repeatedly listening to the Guru’s word.
Yule ambaye akili yake imependezwa na nekta ya ambrosia ya Jina la Mungu kwa kusikiliza neno la Guru mara kwa mara.
ਗੁਰਬਾਣੀ ਹਰਿ ਅਲਖੁ ਲਖਾਇਆ ॥੧॥
gurbaanee har alakh lakhaa-i-aa. ||1||
Through the Guru’s word, he comprehends the incomprehensible God.||1||
Kupitia neno la Guru, anafahamu Mungu asiyefahamika.
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਸੁਨਹੁ ਮੇਰੀ ਭੈਨਾ ॥
gurmukh naam sunhu mayree bhainaa.
O’ my sister, follow the Guru’s teachings and listen to God’s praises.
Ee dada yangu, fuata mafundisho ya Guru na usikilize sifa za Mungu.
ਏਕੋ ਰਵਿ ਰਹਿਆ ਘਟ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਮੁਖਿ ਬੋਲਹੁ ਗੁਰ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਬੈਨਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ayko rav rahi-aa ghat antar mukh bolhu gur amrit bainaa. ||1|| rahaa-o.
God alone is pervading in our heart; therefore utter the ambrosial words of the Guru.||1||Pause||
Mungu peke yake anaenea moyoni mwetu; hivyo basi tamka maneno ya ambrosia ya Guru. ||1||Sitisha||
ਮੈ ਮਨਿ ਤਨਿ ਪ੍ਰੇਮੁ ਮਹਾ ਬੈਰਾਗੁ ॥
mai man tan paraym mahaa bairaag.
My mind and body are filled with love for God and the pains of separation
Akili na mwili wangu umejawa na upendo kwa Mungu na maumivu ya utengano
ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਵਡਭਾਗੁ ॥੨॥
satgur purakh paa-i-aa vadbhaag. ||2||
By great fortune, I have met the True Guru, the embodiment of God. ||2||
Kwa bahati nzuri, nimekutana na Guru wa Kweli, udhihirisho wa kimwili wa Mungu.
ਦੂਜੈ ਭਾਇ ਭਵਹਿ ਬਿਖੁ ਮਾਇਆ ॥ ਭਾਗਹੀਨ ਨਹੀ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਪਾਇਆ ॥੩॥
doojai bhaa-ay bhaveh bikh maa-i-aa. bhaagheen nahee satgur paa-i-aa.||3||
Unfortunate are those who have not found the true Guru. Being in love with duality, they keep wandering for Maya.||3||
Hawana bahati wale ambao hawajapata Guru wa kweli. Wakipenda uwili, wanaendelea kuzurura kwa Maya.
ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤੁ ਹਰਿ ਰਸੁ ਹਰਿ ਆਪਿ ਪੀਆਇਆ ॥
amrit har ras har aap pee-aa-i-aa.
The one whom God Himself blesses with the ambrosial elixir of His Name,
Yule ambaye Mungu Mwenyewe anabariki na dawa ya ambrosia ya Jina lake,
ਗੁਰਿ ਪੂਰੈ ਨਾਨਕ ਹਰਿ ਪਾਇਆ ॥੪॥੩॥੫੫॥
gur poorai naanak har paa-i-aa. ||4||3||55||
has realized God through the perfect Guru, O’ Nanak.||4||3||55||
amegundua Mungu kupitia Guru kamili, Ee Nanak.

ਮੇਰੈ ਮਨਿ ਤਨਿ ਪ੍ਰੇਮੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਆਧਾਰੁ ॥
mayrai man tan paraym naam aaDhaar.
Within my mind and body is the love for God, and His Name is my support.
Ndani mwa akili na mwili wangu kuna upendo wa Mungu, na Jina lake ni tegemezo yangu.
ਨਾਮੁ ਜਪੀ ਨਾਮੋ ਸੁਖ ਸਾਰੁ ॥੧॥
naam japee naamo sukh saar. ||1||
I meditate on Naam which is the essence of peace. ||1||
Natafakari kuhusu Naam ambayo ni kiini cha amani.
ਨਾਮੁ ਜਪਹੁ ਮੇਰੇ ਸਾਜਨ ਸੈਨਾ ॥
naam japahu mayray saajan sainaa.
O’ my friends and companions, meditate on Naam with loving devotion.
Ee marafiki na wendani wangu, tafakari kuhusu Naam kwa ujitoaji wa upendo.
ਨਾਮ ਬਿਨਾ ਮੈ ਅਵਰੁ ਨ ਕੋਈ ਵਡੈ ਭਾਗਿ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਹਰਿ ਲੈਨਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
naam binaa mai avar na koi-ee vadai bhaag gurmukh har lainaa. ||1|| rahaa-o.
Except God’s Name, I find no other support in life. It is only by good fortune that God is realized through the Guru ,s teachings. ||1||Pause||
Isipokuwa Jina la Mungu, sipati tegemezo nyingine yoyote. Ni kwa bahati nzuri pekee ambapo Mungu anagunduliwa kupitia mafundisho ya Guru. ||1||Sitisha||
ਨਾਮ ਬਿਨਾ ਨਹੀ ਜੀਵਿਆ ਜਾਇ ॥
naam binaa nahee jeevi-aa jaa-ay.
Without meditating on God’s Name one cannot spiritually survive.
Bila kutafakari kuhusu Jina la Mungu mtu hawezi kuishi kiroho.
ਵਡੈ ਭਾਗਿ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਹਰਿ ਪਾਇ ॥੨॥
vadai bhaag gurmukh har paa-ay. ||2||
It is by good fortune alone that one receives God’s Name. ||2||
Ni kwa bahati nzuri pekee kwamba mtu anapokea Jina la Mungu.
ਨਾਮਹੀਨ ਕਾਲਖ ਮੁਖਿ ਮਾਇਆ ॥
naamheen kaalakh mukh maa-i-aa.
Those who do not meditate on Naam are disgraced due to the love for Maya.
Wale ambao hawatafakari kuhusu Naam wanafedheheshwa kutokana na upendo kwa Maya.
ਨਾਮ ਬਿਨਾ ਧ੍ਰਿਗੁ ਧ੍ਰਿਗੁ ਜੀਵਾਇਆ ॥੩॥
naam binaa Dharig Dharig jeevaa-i-aa. ||3||
Accursed is the life lived without meditating on Naam. ||3||
Yamelaaniwa maisha bila kutafakari kuhusu Naam.
