ੴ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ॥

One eternal God, realized by the grace of the true Guru:
Mungu Mmoja wa milele, anayegunduliwa kwa neema ya Guru wa kweli:
ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਹਰਿ ਸਿਉ ਲਾਗੀ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ॥
mayray man har si-o laagee pareet.
O’ my mind, the person who is imbued with the love of God,
Ee akili yangu, mtu ambaye ana upendo wa Mungu,
ਸਾਧਸੰਗਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਜਪਤ ਨਿਰਮਲ ਸਾਚੀ ਰੀਤਿ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
saaDhsang har har japat nirmal saachee reet. ||1|| rahaa-o.
meditating on God’s Name in the company of the saintly persons becomes his true and immaculate way of life. ||1||Pause||
kutafakari kuhusu Jina la Mungu katika uandamano wa watu watakatifu kunakuwa mtindo wake wa maisha wa kweli na safi. ||1||Sitisha||
ਦਰਸਨ ਕੀ ਪਿਆਸ ਘਣੀ ਚਿਤਵਤ ਅਨਿਕ ਪ੍ਰਕਾਰ ॥
darsan kee pi-aas ghanee chitvat anik parkaar.
O’ God, by thinking about Your many kinds of virtues, an immense desire for Your blessed vision has arisen in me.
Ee Mungu, kwa kufikiria kuhusu aina nyingi za fadhila zako, hamu kali ya mwono wako uliobarikiwa imetokea ndani mwangu.
ਕਰਹੁ ਅਨੁਗ੍ਰਹੁ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਹਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਧਾਰਿ ਮੁਰਾਰਿ ॥੧॥
karahu anoograhu paarbarahm har kirpaa Dhaar muraar. ||1||
Therefore, O’ supreme God show mercy and bless me with Your vision. ||1||
Hivyo basi, Ee Mungu mkuu nionee huruma na unibariki na mwono wako.
ਮਨੁ ਪਰਦੇਸੀ ਆਇਆ ਮਿਲਿਓ ਸਾਧ ਕੈ ਸੰਗਿ ॥
man pardaysee aa-i-aa mili-o saaDh kai sang.
After wandering around in myriad of existences, when one comes and joins the company of the Guru.
Baada ya kuzurura katika maelfu ya kuishi kwingi, wakati mtu anakuja na kujiunga na uandamano wa Guru.
ਜਿਸੁ ਵਖਰ ਕਉ ਚਾਹਤਾ ਸੋ ਪਾਇਓ ਨਾਮਹਿ ਰੰਗਿ ॥੨॥
jis vakhar ka-o chaahtaa so paa-i-o naameh rang. ||2||
Then by imbuing itself with the love of God’s Name, one attains the wealth of Naam which it has been longing for so many births. ||2||
Kisha kwa kujiwekea upendo wa Jina la Mungu, mtu anapata utajiri wa Naam ambao amekuwa akiutamani kwa kuzaliwa kwingi.
ਜੇਤੇ ਮਾਇਆ ਰੰਗ ਰਸ ਬਿਨਸਿ ਜਾਹਿ ਖਿਨ ਮਾਹਿ ॥
jaytay maa-i-aa rang ras binas jaahi khin maahi.
All the pleasures and relishes of Maya (worldly attachments), perish in an instant.
Raha na viburudisho vyote vya Maya (viambatisho vya kidunia), vinaangamia papo hapo.
ਭਗਤ ਰਤੇ ਤੇਰੇ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਉ ਸੁਖੁ ਭੁੰਚਹਿ ਸਭ ਠਾਇ ॥੩॥
bhagat ratay tayray naam si-o sukh bhuNcheh sabh thaa-ay. ||3||
Devotees imbued with Your Name, enjoy peace everywhere. ||3||
Watawa ambao wana Jina lako, wanafurahia amani kila mahali.
ਸਭੁ ਜਗੁ ਚਲਤਉ ਪੇਖੀਐ ਨਿਹਚਲੁ ਹਰਿ ਕੋ ਨਾਉ ॥
sabh jag chalta-o paykhee-ai nihchal har ko naa-o.
The entire world is seen to be passing away, only God’s Name is eternal.
Dunia nzima inaonekana kuwa inapita, Jina la Mungu pekee ni la milele.
ਕਰਿ ਮਿਤ੍ਰਾਈ ਸਾਧ ਸਿਉ ਨਿਹਚਲੁ ਪਾਵਹਿ ਠਾਉ ॥੪॥
kar mitraa-ee saaDh si-o nihchal paavahi thaa-o. ||4||
Make friends with the Guru, you would obtain a place of everlasting peace. ||4||
Fanya urafiki na Guru, utapata mahali pa amani ya kudumu milele.
ਮੀਤ ਸਾਜਨ ਸੁਤ ਬੰਧਪਾ ਕੋਊ ਹੋਤ ਨ ਸਾਥ ॥
meet saajan sut banDhpaa ko-oo hot na saath.
Whether it be your friends, mates, sons or relatives, none of these can be your companion for ever.
Iwapo ni marafiki, wana au jamaa wako, hakuna kati yao anaweza kuwa mwendani wako milele.
ਏਕੁ ਨਿਵਾਹੂ ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮ ਦੀਨਾ ਕਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਨਾਥ ॥੫॥
ayk nivaahoo raam naam deenaa kaa parabh naath. ||5||
God, the protector of the meek, is the everlasting companion. ||5||
Mungu, mlinzi wa wapole, ndiye mwendani wa kudumu milele.
ਚਰਨ ਕਮਲ ਬੋਹਿਥ ਭਏ ਲਗਿ ਸਾਗਰੁ ਤਰਿਓ ਤੇਹ ॥
charan kamal bohith bha-ay lag saagar tari-o tayh.
The person for whom the Guru’s lotus feet (words) have become like a ship; by following these words, that person has crossed the world ocean of vices
Mtu ambaye miguu ya yungiyungi ya Guru (maneno) imekuwa kama meli; kwa kufuata maneno haya, mtu huyo amevuka bahari dunia ya dhambi
ਭੇਟਿਓ ਪੂਰਾ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਸਾਚਾ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਸਿਉ ਨੇਹ ॥੬॥
bhayti-o pooraa satguroo saachaa parabh si-o nayh. ||6||
One who met and followed the teachings of the perfect true Guru, developed true love for God. ||6||
Yule ambaye alikutana na kufuata mafundisho ya Guru kamili wa kweli, alisitawisha upendo wa kweli kwa Mungu.
ਸਾਧ ਤੇਰੇ ਕੀ ਜਾਚਨਾ ਵਿਸਰੁ ਨ ਸਾਸਿ ਗਿਰਾਸਿ ॥
saaDh tayray kee jaachnaa visar na saas giraas.
O’ God, the prayer of Your saints is that, never let them forget You even when they are taking a breath or eating a morsel of food.
Ee Mungu, ombi la watakatifu wako ni kwamba, kamwe usiwaache wakusahau Wewe hata wanapovuta pumzi au kila kipande cha chakula.
ਜੋ ਤੁਧੁ ਭਾਵੈ ਸੋ ਭਲਾ ਤੇਰੈ ਭਾਣੈ ਕਾਰਜ ਰਾਸਿ ॥੭॥
jo tuDh bhaavai so bhalaa tayrai bhaanai kaaraj raas. ||7||
O’ God, whatever pleases You is good; all the affairs of the devotees are accomplished by Your will . ||7||
Ee Mungu, chochote kinachokupendeza Wewe ni kizuri, shughuli zote za watawa zinatimizwa kwa mapenzi yako.
ਸੁਖ ਸਾਗਰ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮ ਮਿਲੇ ਉਪਜੇ ਮਹਾ ਅਨੰਦ ॥
sukh saagar pareetam milay upjay mahaa anand.
Great bliss arises in a person who realizes the beloved God, the ocean of peace.
Raha tele kuu inatokea ndani mwa mtu anayegundua Mungu mpendwa, bahari ya amani.
ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਸਭ ਦੁਖ ਮਿਟੇ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਭੇਟੇ ਪਰਮਾਨੰਦ ॥੮॥੧॥੨॥
kaho naanak sabh dukh mitay parabh bhaytay parmaanand. ||8||1||2||
Nanak says, all the sorrows of the one go away who realizes God, the embodiment of supreme bliss. ||8||1||2||
Nanak anasema, huzuni zote za yule zinapotea ambaye anamgundua Mungu, udhihirisho wa kimwili wa raha tele kuu.

ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਸਿਮਰੀਐ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਦਰਸਨ ਕਉ ਬਲਿ ਜਾਉ ॥੧॥
paarbarahm parabh simree-ai pi-aaray darsan ka-o bal jaa-o. ||1||
O’ my dear friend, we should always meditate on the all pervading God; I dedicate myself to His blessed vision. ||1||
Ee rafiki wangu wa dhati, daima tunapaswa kutafakari kuhusu Mungu anayeenea kote; najiweka wakfu kwa mwono wake uliobarikiwa.
ਜਿਸੁ ਸਿਮਰਤ ਦੁਖ ਬੀਸਰਹਿ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਸੋ ਕਿਉ ਤਜਣਾ ਜਾਇ ॥੨॥
jis simrat dukh beesrahi pi-aaray so ki-o tajnaa jaa-ay. ||2||
O’ my dear friend, remembering whom all our sorrows depart, how can we forsake Him? ||2||
Ee rafiki wangu wa dhati, kwa kumkumbuka Yeye huzuni zetu zote zinaondoka, tunawezaje kumwacha Yeye?
ਇਹੁ ਤਨੁ ਵੇਚੀ ਸੰਤ ਪਹਿ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮੁ ਦੇਇ ਮਿਲਾਇ ॥੩॥
ih tan vaychee sant peh pi-aaray pareetam day-ay milaa-ay. ||3||
O’ dear, I am ready to surrender myself to that Guru who would unite me with my beloved God. ||3||
Ee mpendwa, niko tayari kujisalimisha kwa Guru huyo ambaye ataniunganisha na Mungu wangu mpendwa.
ਸੁਖ ਸੀਗਾਰ ਬਿਖਿਆ ਕੇ ਫੀਕੇ ਤਜਿ ਛੋਡੇ ਮੇਰੀ ਮਾਇ ॥੪॥
sukh seegaar bikhi-aa kay feekay taj chhoday mayree maa-ay. ||4||
O’ my mother, the pleasures and adornments of Maya are insipid and useless; I have renounced them. ||4||
Ee mama wangu, raha na mapambo ya Maya hayana ladha na ni bure; nimeyakana yote.
ਕਾਮੁ ਕ੍ਰੋਧੁ ਲੋਭੁ ਤਜਿ ਗਏ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਚਰਨੀ ਪਾਇ ॥੫॥
kaam kroDh lobh taj ga-ay pi-aaray satgur charnee paa-ay. ||5||
O’ my dear, since the time I have sought the Guru’s refuge and followed his teachings, evils like lust, anger and greed have left me. ||5||
Ee mpendwa wangu, tangu wakati nimetafuta kimbilio cha Guru na kufuata mafundisho yake, maovu kama ukware, hasira na tamaa yameniacha.
ਜੋ ਜਨ ਰਾਤੇ ਰਾਮ ਸਿਉ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਅਨਤ ਨ ਕਾਹੂ ਜਾਇ ॥੬॥
jo jan raatay raam si-o pi-aaray anat na kaahoo jaa-ay. ||6||
O’ my dear, the devotees who are imbued with the love of God, do not go anywhere else. ||6||
Ee mpendwa wangu, watawa ambao wana upendo wa Mungu, hawaendi popote pengine.
ਹਰਿ ਰਸੁ ਜਿਨ੍ਹ੍ਹੀ ਚਾਖਿਆ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਤ੍ਰਿਪਤਿ ਰਹੇ ਆਘਾਇ ॥੭॥
har ras jinHee chaakhi-aa pi-aaray taripat rahay aaghaa-ay. ||7||
O’ dear, those who have relished the elixir of God’s Name remain satisfied and satiated. ||7||
Ee mpendwa, wale ambao wamefurahia dawa ya Jina la Mungu wanabaki wameridhika na kutoshelezwa.
ਅੰਚਲੁ ਗਹਿਆ ਸਾਧ ਕਾ ਨਾਨਕ ਭੈ ਸਾਗਰੁ ਪਾਰਿ ਪਰਾਇ ॥੮॥੧॥੩॥
anchal gahi-aa saaDh kaa naanak bhai saagar paar paraa-ay. ||8||1||3||
O’ Nanak, one who grasps onto the support of the Guru, crosses over the dreadful world-ocean of vices. ||8||1||3||
Ee Nanak, yule ambaye anashikilia tegemezo ya Guru, anavuka bahari-dunia mbaya ya dhambi.
ਜਨਮ ਮਰਣ ਦੁਖੁ ਕਟੀਐ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਜਬ ਭੇਟੈ ਹਰਿ ਰਾਇ ॥੧॥
janam maran dukh katee-ai pi-aaray jab bhaytai har raa-ay. ||1||
O’ my dear, the pain of the cycles of birth and death is eradicated when one realizes the sovereign God. ||1||
Ee mpendwa wangu, uchungu wa mizunguko ya kuzaliwa na kufa unatokomezwa wakati mtu anagundua Mungu mwenyezi.
ਸੁੰਦਰੁ ਸੁਘਰੁ ਸੁਜਾਣੁ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਮੇਰਾ ਜੀਵਨੁ ਦਰਸੁ ਦਿਖਾਇ ॥੨॥
sundar sughar sujaan parabh mayraa jeevan daras dikhaa-ay. ||2||
Beautiful, virtuous, and wise God is my life; O’ God, show me Your vision. ||2||
Mungu Mzuri, mwema na mwenye hekima ndiye maisha yangu; Ee Mungu, nionyeshe mwono wako.
ਜੋ ਜੀਅ ਤੁਝ ਤੇ ਬੀਛੁਰੇ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਜਨਮਿ ਮਰਹਿ ਬਿਖੁ ਖਾਇ ॥੩॥
jo jee-a tujh tay beechhuray pi-aaray janam mareh bikh khaa-ay. ||3||
O’ dear God, those who are separated from You, keep going in the cycle of birth and death because eating the poison of Maya, they remain spiritually dead. ||3||
Ee Mungu mpendwa, wale ambao wametenganishwa kutoka kwako, wanaendelea kuenda katika mzunguko wa kuzaliwa na kufa kwa sababu kwa kula sumu ya Maya, wanabaki wamekufa kiroho.
ਜਿਸੁ ਤੂੰ ਮੇਲਹਿ ਸੋ ਮਿਲੈ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਤਿਸ ਕੈ ਲਾਗਉ ਪਾਇ ॥੪॥
jis tooN mayleh so milai pi-aaray tis kai laaga-o paa-ay. ||4||
O’ dear God, only that person unites with You, whom You Yourself unite; I bow to that person. ||4||
Ee Mungu mpendwa, mtu huyo pekee anaungana na Wewe, ambaye Wewe Mwenyewe unaunganisha; nasujudu kwa mtu huyo.
ਜੋ ਸੁਖੁ ਦਰਸਨੁ ਪੇਖਤੇ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਮੁਖ ਤੇ ਕਹਣੁ ਨ ਜਾਇ ॥੫॥
jo sukh darsan paykh-tay pi-aaray mukh tay kahan na jaa-ay. ||5||
O’ God, the pleasure one receives upon realizing You cannot be described. ||5||
Ee Mungu, raha mtu anayopokea anapokugundua Wewe haiwezi kuelezwa.
ਸਾਚੀ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਨ ਤੁਟਈ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਜੁਗੁ ਜੁਗੁ ਰਹੀ ਸਮਾਇ ॥੬॥
saachee pareet na tut-ee pi-aaray jug jug rahee samaa-ay. ||6||
O’ God, true love with You never breaks, it remains throughout the ages, ||6||
Ee Mungu, upendo wa kweli na Wewe kamwe haukwishi, inabaki katika enzi zote.
