ਜੀਅ ਜੰਤ ਸਭ ਸਾਰੀ ਕੀਤੇ ਪਾਸਾ ਢਾਲਣਿ ਆਪਿ ਲਗਾ ॥੨੬॥
jee-a jant sabh saaree keetay paasaa dhaalan aap lagaa. ||26||
All the beings and creatures serve as game-pieces and God Himself is engaged in throwing the dice. ||26||.
Viumbe na wanyama wote ni kama vipande cha kuchezea na Mungu Mwenyewe amejishughulisha katika kurusha dadu.
ਭਭੈ ਭਾਲਹਿ ਸੇ ਫਲੁ ਪਾਵਹਿ ਗੁਰ ਪਰਸਾਦੀ ਜਿਨ੍ਹ੍ਹ ਕਉ ਭਉ ਪਇਆ ॥
bhabhai bhaaleh say fal paavahi gur parsaadee jinH ka-o bha-o pa-i-aa.
Bhabha: By the Guru’s grace, in whose hearts is enshrined the revered fear of God, they search God through meditation and realize Him.
Bhabha: Kwa neema ya Guru, wale ambao mioyoni mwao mmethaminiwa uoga kwa heshima ya Mungu, wanatafuta Mungu kwa kutafakari na wanamgundua Yeye.
ਮਨਮੁਖ ਫਿਰਹਿ ਨ ਚੇਤਹਿ ਮੂੜੇ ਲਖ ਚਉਰਾਸੀਹ ਫੇਰੁ ਪਇਆ ॥੨੭॥
manmukh fireh na cheeteh moorhay lakh cha-oraaseeh fayr pa-i-aa. ||27||
But The self-willed fools wander around and do not remember God; they are consigned to the cycles of myriad existences. ||27||
Lakini wapumbavu wenye hiari binafsi wanazurura kote na hawamgundui Mungu; wametupwa kwa mizunguko ya maelfu ya kuishi kwingi.
ਮੰਮੈ ਮੋਹੁ ਮਰਣੁ ਮਧੁਸੂਦਨੁ ਮਰਣੁ ਭਇਆ ਤਬ ਚੇਤਵਿਆ ॥
mammai moh maran maDhusoodan maran bha-i-aa tab chaytvi-aa.
Mamma: Captivated by the worldly allurements, one remains unaware of death and God; he remembers God only when he is about to die.
Mamma: kwa kuvutiwa kwa vivutio vya kidunia, mtu anabaki hafahamu kifo na Mungu; yeye anakumbuka Mungu wakati tu yu karibu kufa.
ਕਾਇਆ ਭੀਤਰਿ ਅਵਰੋ ਪੜਿਆ ਮੰਮਾ ਅਖਰੁ ਵੀਸਰਿਆ ॥੨੮॥
kaa-i-aa bheetar avro parhi-aa mammaa akhar veesri-aa. ||28||
As long as the soul is within the body, one reads about other things and forgets about death and God.||28||
Ili mradi roho ipo ndani mwa mwili, mtu anasoma kuhusu vitu vingine na kusahau kuhusu kifo na Mungu.
ਯਯੈ ਜਨਮੁ ਨ ਹੋਵੀ ਕਦ ਹੀ ਜੇ ਕਰਿ ਸਚੁ ਪਛਾਣੈ ॥
ya-yai janam na hovee kad hee jay kar sach pachhaanai.
Yaya: That person never takes birth again (escapes the cycles of birth and death) if he recognizes the eternal God,
Yaya: Mtu huyo kamwe hazaliwi tena (kuepuka mizunguko ya kuzaliwa na kufa) iwapo anatambua Mungu wa milele,
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਆਖੈ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਬੂਝੈ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਏਕੋ ਜਾਣੈ ॥੨੯॥
gurmukh aakhai gurmukh boojhai gurmukh ayko jaanai. ||29||
and by following the Guru’s teachings utters God’s praises, understands and realizes the one God. ||29||
Na kwa kufuata mafundisho ya Guru anatamka sifa za Mungu, anaelewa na kugundua Mungu Mmoja.
ਰਾਰੈ ਰਵਿ ਰਹਿਆ ਸਭ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਜੇਤੇ ਕੀਏ ਜੰਤਾ ॥
raarai rav rahi-aa sabh antar jaytay kee-ay jantaa.
Rarra: God is pervading in all the creatures and the beings He has created.
Rarra: Mungu anaenea katika wanyama wote na viumbe ambavyo Yeye ameumba.
ਜੰਤ ਉਪਾਇ ਧੰਧੈ ਸਭ ਲਾਏ ਕਰਮੁ ਹੋਆ ਤਿਨ ਨਾਮੁ ਲਇਆ ॥੩੦॥
jant upaa-ay DhanDhai sabh laa-ay karam ho-aa tin naam la-i-aa. ||30||
Having created His beings, He has put them all to worldly tasks; but only those meditate on Naam, upon whom He bestows His Grace. ||30||
Akiwa amekwishaumba viumbe vyake, Yeye amewateua wote kwa kazi za kidunia; lakini hao pekee wanatafakari Naam, ambao Yeye anatawazia Neema yake.
ਲਲੈ ਲਾਇ ਧੰਧੈ ਜਿਨਿ ਛੋਡੀ ਮੀਠਾ ਮਾਇਆ ਮੋਹੁ ਕੀਆ ॥
lalai laa-ay DhanDhai jin chhodee meethaa maa-i-aa moh kee-aa.
Lalla: He has assigned people to their worldly tasks, which has made the love of Maya seem sweet to them.
Lalla: Yeye ameteua watu kwa kazi zao za kidunia, ambazo zimefanya upendo wa Maya uonekane kuwa tamu kwao.
ਖਾਣਾ ਪੀਣਾ ਸਮ ਕਰਿ ਸਹਣਾ ਭਾਣੈ ਤਾ ਕੈ ਹੁਕਮੁ ਪਇਆ ॥੩੧॥
khaanaa peenaa sam kar sahnaa bhaanai taa kai hukam pa-i-aa. ||31||
One should enjoy eating and drinking (worldly pleasures) and endure pain and misery with equal regard, because it all happens according to His will. ||31||
Mtu anapaswa kufurahia kula na kunywa (raha za kidunia) na kustahimili uchungu na taabu kwa usawa, kwa sababu vyote vinatendeka kulingana na mapenzi ya Mungu.
ਵਵੈ ਵਾਸੁਦੇਉ ਪਰਮੇਸਰੁ ਵੇਖਣ ਕਉ ਜਿਨਿ ਵੇਸੁ ਕੀਆ ॥
vavai vaasuday-o parmaysar vaykhan ka-o jin vays kee-aa.
Wawa: It is the Supreme God Himself who created the creation to see the play of the world.
Wawa: ni Mungu Mkuu Mwenyewe ambaye aliumba uumbaji kuona mchezo wa dunia.
ਵੇਖੈ ਚਾਖੈ ਸਭੁ ਕਿਛੁ ਜਾਣੈ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਬਾਹਰਿ ਰਵਿ ਰਹਿਆ ॥੩੨॥
vaykhai chaakhai sabh kichh jaanai antar baahar rav rahi-aa. ||32||
He cherishes all beings and knows everything about everyone; He is pervading both inside and outside of all. ||32||
Yeye anathamini viumbe vyote na anajua kila kitu kuhusu kila mtu; Yeye anaenea ndani na nje ya vyote.
ੜਾੜੈ ਰਾੜਿ ਕਰਹਿ ਕਿਆ ਪ੍ਰਾਣੀ ਤਿਸਹਿ ਧਿਆਵਹੁ ਜਿ ਅਮਰੁ ਹੋਆ ॥
rhaarhai raarh karahi ki-aa paraanee tiseh Dhi-aavahu je amar ho-aa.
Rarra: O’ mortal, why do you enter into heated arguments with others; meditate on that God alone who is eternal.
Rarra: Ee binadamu, kwa nini unaingia katika mabishano makali na wengine; tafakari kuhusu Mungu huyo peke yake ambaye ni wa milele.
ਤਿਸਹਿ ਧਿਆਵਹੁ ਸਚਿ ਸਮਾਵਹੁ ਓਸੁ ਵਿਟਹੁ ਕੁਰਬਾਣੁ ਕੀਆ ॥੩੩॥
tiseh Dhi-aavahu sach samaavahu os vitahu kurbaan kee-aa. ||33||
Meditate on Him with loving devotion, remain absorbed into Him and dedicate yourself to Him. ||33||
Tafakari kumhusu Yeye kwa ujitoaji wa upendo, salia umevama ndani mwake na ujiweke wakfu kwake.
ਹਾਹੈ ਹੋਰੁ ਨ ਕੋਈ ਦਾਤਾ ਜੀਅ ਉਪਾਇ ਜਿਨਿ ਰਿਜਕੁ ਦੀਆ ॥
haahai hor na ko-ee daataa jee-a upaa-ay jin rijak dee-aa.
Haha: Besides God there is no other benefactor; having created the creatures, He gives them sustenance .
Haha: Isipokuwa Mungu hakuna mfadhili mwengine; akiwa ameumba wanyama, Yeye anawapa riziki.
ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਵਹੁ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮਿ ਸਮਾਵਹੁ ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਲਾਹਾ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਲੀਆ ॥੩੪॥
har naam Dhi-aavahu har naam samaavahu andin laahaa har naam leeaa. ||34||
Meditate on God’s Name with loving devotion, be absorbed into God’s Name and always reap the Profit of meditation on God’s Name. ||34||
Tafakari kuhusu Jina la Mungu kwa ujitoaji wa upendo, vama katika Jina la Mungu na daima uvune faida ya kutafakari kuhusu Jina la Mungu.
ਆਇੜੈ ਆਪਿ ਕਰੇ ਜਿਨਿ ਛੋਡੀ ਜੋ ਕਿਛੁ ਕਰਣਾ ਸੁ ਕਰਿ ਰਹਿਆ ॥
aa-irhai aap karay jin chhodee jo kichh karnaa so kar rahi-aa.
Airaa: That God, who Himself has created the universe, continues to do whatever He has to do.
Airaa: Mungu huyo, ambaye Mwenyewe ameumba ulimwengu, anaendelea kufanya chochote anachopaswa kufanya.
ਕਰੇ ਕਰਾਏ ਸਭ ਕਿਛੁ ਜਾਣੈ ਨਾਨਕ ਸਾਇਰ ਇਵ ਕਹਿਆ ॥੩੫॥੧॥
karay karaa-ay sabh kichh jaanai naanak saa-ir iv kahi-aa. ||35||1||
He acts, and causes others to act and He knows everything; so says Nanak, the poet. ||35||1||
Yeye anatenda, na kufanya wengine watende naye anajua kila kitu; ndivyo asemavyo Nanak, mshairi.

ਅਯੋ ਅੰਙੈ ਸਭੁ ਜਗੁ ਆਇਆ ਕਾਖੈ ਘੰਙੈ ਕਾਲੁ ਭਇਆ ॥
ayo anyai sabh jag aa-i-aa kaakhai ghanyai kaal bha-i-aa.
The entire world, which has come into existence, shall pass away.
Dunia nzima, ambaye imekuja kuwepo, itapita.
ਰੀਰੀ ਲਲੀ ਪਾਪ ਕਮਾਣੇ ਪੜਿ ਅਵਗਣ ਗੁਣ ਵੀਸਰਿਆ ॥੧॥
reeree lalee paap kamaanay parh avgan gun veesri-aa. ||1||
Forsaking virtues and getting engrossed in vices, people keep committing sins ||1||.
Wakiacha fadhila na kuvama katika maovu, watu wanaendelea kutenda dhambi.
ਮਨ ਐਸਾ ਲੇਖਾ ਤੂੰ ਕੀ ਪੜਿਆ ॥
man aisaa laykhaa tooN kee parhi-aa.
O’ my mind, what kind of accounting you have learnt,
Ee akili yangu, umejifunza uhasibu wa aina gani,
ਲੇਖਾ ਦੇਣਾ ਤੇਰੈ ਸਿਰਿ ਰਹਿਆ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
laykhaa daynaa tayrai sir rahi-aa. ||1|| rahaa-o.
that you would still be responsible for rendering further account of your deeds. ||1||Pause||
kwamba bado utawajibika kufasiri maelezo zaidi ya vitendo vyako.
ਸਿਧੰਙਾਇਐ ਸਿਮਰਹਿ ਨਾਹੀ ਨੰਨੈ ਨਾ ਤੁਧੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਲਇਆ ॥
siDhaNnyaa-ee-ai simrahi naahee nannai naa tuDh naam la-i-aa.
You do not remember God: You do not meditated on God’s Name.
Wewe humkumbuki Mungu: wewe hutafakari kuhusu Jina la Mungu.
ਛਛੈ ਛੀਜਹਿ ਅਹਿਨਿਸਿ ਮੂੜੇ ਕਿਉ ਛੂਟਹਿ ਜਮਿ ਪਾਕੜਿਆ ॥੨॥
chhachhai chheejeh ahinis moorhay ki-o chhooteh jam paakrhi-aa. ||2||
Chhachha: O’ fool, day after day you are becoming spiritually weak, how would you find release from the grip of demon of death? ||2||.
Chhachha: Ee mpumbavu, siku baada ya siku unadhoofika kiroho, utapataje uhuru kutoka kwa mshiko wa pepo wa kifo?
ਬਬੈ ਬੂਝਹਿ ਨਾਹੀ ਮੂੜੇ ਭਰਮਿ ਭੁਲੇ ਤੇਰਾ ਜਨਮੁ ਗਇਆ ॥
babai boojheh naahee moorhay bharam bhulay tayraa janam ga-i-aa.
Babba: O’ fool, you do not understand the right way of life; lost in doubt, your entire life is going to waste.
Babba: Ee mpumbavu, huelewi mtindo sahihi wa maisha; ukipotea katika shaka, maisha yako yote yanaharibika.
ਅਣਹੋਦਾ ਨਾਉ ਧਰਾਇਓ ਪਾਧਾ ਅਵਰਾ ਕਾ ਭਾਰੁ ਤੁਧੁ ਲਇਆ ॥੩॥
anhodaa naa-o Dharaa-i-o paaDhaa avraa kaa bhaar tuDh la-i-aa. ||3||
Without having the virtues, you call yourself a teacher; thus you have assumed the responsibility of teaching others. ||3||
Bila kuwa na fadhila, unajiita mwalimu; hivyo basi umechukua jukumu la kufunza wengine.
ਜਜੈ ਜੋਤਿ ਹਿਰਿ ਲਈ ਤੇਰੀ ਮੂੜੇ ਅੰਤਿ ਗਇਆ ਪਛੁਤਾਵਹਿਗਾ ॥
jajai jot hir la-ee tayree moorhay ant ga-i-aa pachhutaavhigaa.
Jajja: O’ fool, the worldly affairs have taken over your conscience; in the end, when you depart from here, you would repent.
Jajja: Ee mpumbavu, shughuli za kidunia zimetawala dhamiri yako; mwishowe, wakati unaondoka kutoka humu, utatubu.
ਏਕੁ ਸਬਦੁ ਤੂੰ ਚੀਨਹਿ ਨਾਹੀ ਫਿਰਿ ਫਿਰਿ ਜੂਨੀ ਆਵਹਿਗਾ ॥੪॥
ayk sabad tooN cheeneh naahee fir fir joonee aavhigaa. ||4||
You do not reflect on the divine word of God’s praises; therefore you would go throughl the existences again and again. ||4||
Wewe hautafakari kuhusu neno takatifu la sifa za Mungu; hivyo basi utapitia kuwepo kwingi tena na tena.
ਤੁਧੁ ਸਿਰਿ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਸੋ ਪੜੁ ਪੰਡਿਤ ਅਵਰਾ ਨੋ ਨ ਸਿਖਾਲਿ ਬਿਖਿਆ ॥
tuDh sir likhi-aa so parh pandit avraa no na sikhaal bikhi-aa.
O’ pundit, first read what is written in your destiny, do not teach this knowledge about Maya to others.
Ee mbukuzi, soma kwanza kile ambacho kimeandikwa katika hatima yako, usifunze maarifa haya kuhusu Maya kwa wengine.
