ਮਾਇਆ ਬੰਧਨ ਟਿਕੈ ਨਾਹੀ ਖਿਨੁ ਖਿਨੁ ਦੁਖੁ ਸੰਤਾਏ ॥ maa-i-aa banDhan tikai naahee khin khin dukh santaa-ay. Because of the bonds of Maya, the mind does not remain stable and suffers the mental torture at every moment. ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇਬੰਧਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਕਾਰਨ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦਾ ਮਨ (ਇੱਕ ਥਾਂ) ਟਿਕਦਾ ਨਹੀਂ, ਹਰੇਕ ਕਿਸਮ ਦਾ ਦੁੱਖ ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਹਰ
ਇਸਤਰੀ ਪੁਰਖ ਕਾਮਿ ਵਿਆਪੇ ਜੀਉ ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮ ਕੀ ਬਿਧਿ ਨਹੀ ਜਾਣੀ ॥ istaree purakh kaam vi-aapay jee-o raam naam kee biDh nahee jaanee. Both men and women are obsessed with lust and do not understand the way to meditate on God’s Name. ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ ਅਤੇ ਮਰਦ ਕਾਮ-ਵਾਸ਼ਨਾ ਵਿਚ ਫਸੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਦੀ
ਗੁਰ ਆਗੈ ਕਰਉ ਬਿਨੰਤੀ ਜੇ ਗੁਰ ਭਾਵੈ ਜਿਉ ਮਿਲੈ ਤਿਵੈ ਮਿਲਾਈਐ ॥ gur aagai kara-o binantee jay gur bhaavai ji-o milai tivai milaa-ee-ai. I pray to the Guru and say, “O’ my beloved Guru please unite me with God in whatever way it pleases you”. (ਹੇ ਮਾਂ!) ਮੈਂ ਗੁਰੂ ਅੱਗੇ ਬੇਨਤੀ ਕਰਦੀ ਹਾਂ-ਹੇ ਗੁਰੂ! ਜੇ
ਹਰਿ ਗੁਣ ਸਾਰੀ ਤਾ ਕੰਤ ਪਿਆਰੀ ਨਾਮੇ ਧਰੀ ਪਿਆਰੋ ॥ har gun saaree taa kant pi-aaree naamay Dharee pi-aaro. The soul-bride who imbues herself with the love of God and enshrines God’s virtues in her heart, becomes dear to the Master-God. ਜੋ ਜੀਵ-ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਵਿਚ ਪਿਆਰ ਪਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਗੁਣ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ

O’ God, my venerable husband, please listen. I am all alone in the wilderness of the world. ਹੈ ਮੇਰੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ਰ ਪਤੀ ਜੀ! ਮੇਰੀ ਬੇਨਤੀ ਸੁਣੋ।

ਮੋਹਨ ਲਾਲ ਅਨੂਪ ਸਰਬ ਸਾਧਾਰੀਆ ॥ mohan laal anoop sarab saaDhaaree-aa. O’ the Fascinating and Beauteous Beloved God, the Giver of support to all, ਹੇ ਮਨ ਨੂੰ ਮੋਹ ਲੈਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਸੋਹਣੇ ਲਾਲ! ਹੇ ਸਭ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦੇ ਆਸਰੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! موہنلالانوُپسربسادھاریِیا॥ موہن۔ دلربا۔ دل کو پیار لگنے ولاے ۔ انوپ ۔ بیحد۔ بصورت ۔ انوکھے۔ سرب۔ سارے
ਜਿਨਿ ਗੁਰਿ ਮੋ ਕਉ ਦੀਨਾ ਜੀਉ ॥ jin gur mo ka-o deenaa jee-o. That Guru who has blessed me with spiritual life, ਜਿਸ ਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ, جِنِگُرِموکءُدیِناجیِءُ॥ جیو ۔ زندگی ۔ جس مرشد نے روحانی زندگی عطا کی ہے ਆਪੁਨਾ ਦਾਸਰਾ ਆਪੇ ਮੁਲਿ ਲੀਉ ॥੬॥ aapunaa daasraa aapay mul lee-o. ||6||
