ਮਹਲਾ੨॥ mehlaa 2. Second Mehl: مہلا੨॥ ਕੀਤਾਕਿਆਸਾਲਾਹੀਐਕਰੇਸੋਇਸਾਲਾਹਿ॥ keetaa ki-aa salaahee-ai karay so-ay saalaahi. Why praise the created being? Praise the One who created all. (O’ my friends), why should we praise (that entity), which has been created (by God)? We should praise Him who creates (all). ਪੈਦਾਕੀਤੇਹੋਏਜੀਵਦੀਵਡਿਆਈਕਰਨਦਾਕੀਹਲਾਭ? ਉਸ (ਪ੍ਰਭੂ) ਦੀਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹਕਰੋਜੋ (ਸਭਨੂੰਪੈਦਾ) ਕਰਦਾਹੈ; کیِتاکِیاسالاہیِئےَکرےسوءِسالاہِ॥ کیتا۔ جسے
ਸਲੋਕਮਹਲਾ੨॥ salokmehlaa 2. Shalok, Second Mehl: سلوکمہلا੨॥ ਆਪਿਉਪਾਏਨਾਨਕਾਆਪੇਰਖੈਵੇਕ॥ aapupaa-ay naankaaaapayrakhaivayk. He Himself creates, O Nanak; He establishes the various creatures. O’ Nanak, (God) Himself creates (all creatures) and Himself keeps them distinct (from one another). ਹੇਨਾਨਕ! ਪ੍ਰਭੂਆਪ (ਜੀਵਾਂਨੂੰ) ਪੈਦਾਕਰਦਾਹੈਤੇਆਪਹੀ (ਇਹਨਾਂਨੂੰ) ਵਖੋਵਖ (ਸੁਭਾਉਵਾਲੇ) ਰੱਖਦਾਹੈ; آپِاُپاۓنانکاآپےرکھےَۄیک॥ اپائے ۔ پیدا کئے ۔ ویک ۔ علیحدہ علیحدہ ۔ خود
ਕਿਉ ਨ ਅਰਾਧਹੁ ਮਿਲਿ ਕਰਿ ਸਾਧਹੁ ਘਰੀ ਮੁਹਤਕ ਬੇਲਾ ਆਈ ॥ ki-o na aaraaDhahu mil kar saaDhahu gharee muhtak baylaa aa-ee. Why do you not worship and adore Him? Join together with the Holy Saints; any instant, your time shall come. O’ saints, why don’t you join together and meditate on Him, because in a
ਅਨਿਕ ਪੁਰਖ ਅੰਸਾ ਅਵਤਾਰ ॥ anik purakh ansaa avtaar. Many beings take incarnation. There are myriads of gods who are His tiny incarnations. ਹੋਰ ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਹੀ ਛੋਟੇ ਛੋਟੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਅਵਤਾਰ ਹਨ, انِکپُرکھانّسااۄتار॥ انک پرکھ ۔ بیشمار انسان انسا۔ انس ۔ حصہ ۔ جز ۔ اوتار۔ جس میں الہٰی قوتکا معمولی سا جز آگیا ہوا۔
ਮਨਮੁਖ ਦੂਜੈ ਭਰਮਿ ਭੁਲਾਏ ਨਾ ਬੂਝਹਿ ਵੀਚਾਰਾ ॥੭॥ manmukh doojai bharam bhulaa-ay naa boojheh veechaaraa. ||7|| The self-willed manmukhs wander, lost in doubt and duality. They do not know how to contemplate the Lord. ||7|| But the self-conceited are lost in doubt and duality and do not understand the right way of life. ||7|| ਪਰ
ਜਨਮ ਜਨਮ ਕੇ ਕਿਲਵਿਖ ਭਉ ਭੰਜਨ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਏਕੋ ਡੀਠਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ janam janam kay kilvikh bha-o bhanjan gurmukh ayko deethaa. ||1|| rahaa-o. ਮਨ ਰਤਿ ਨਾਮਿ ਰਤੇ ਨਿਹਕੇਵਲ ਆਦਿ ਜੁਗਾਦਿ ਦਇਆਲਾ ॥੩॥ man rat naam ratay nihkayval aad jugaad da-i-aalaa. ||3|| My mind is imbued with love for the Naam. The Immaculate Lord is merciful, from the beginning of time, and througout the ages. ||3|| They who are imbued with God’s love from (the core of) their hearts
ਬਿਖਿਆਸਕਤ ਰਹਿਓ ਨਿਸਿ ਬਾਸੁਰ ਕੀਨੋ ਅਪਨੋ ਭਾਇਓ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ bikhi-aaskat rahi-o nis baasur keeno apno bhaa-i-o. ||1|| rahaa-o.
