ਗੁਰਸਬਦੁਬੀਚਾਰਹਿਆਪੁਜਾਇ॥ gur sabad beechaareh aap jaa-ay. Contemplate the Word of the Guru’s Shabad, and be rid of your ego. (O‟ man), if you reflect on the word of the Guru, your ego will depart ਜੇਤੂੰਗੁਰੂਦੇਸ਼ਬਦਨੂੰਆਪਣੀਸੁਰਤਵਿਚਟਿਕਾਰੱਖੇਂ, ਤਾਂਇਸਤਰ੍ਹਾਂਆਪਾ-ਭਾਵਦੂਰਹੋਸਕੇਗਾ। گُرسبدُبیِچارہِآپُجاءِ॥ اے انسان سبق مرشد کا خیال کر سوچ سمجھ تاکہ تیری خودی دور ہو جائے ۔ ਸਾਚਜੋਗੁਮਨਿਵਸੈਆਇ॥੮॥ saach

ਲਿਖਿਆ ਪਲੈ ਪਾਇ ਸੋ ਸਚੁ ਜਾਣੀਐ ॥ likhi-aa palai paa-ay so sach jaanee-ai. One whose pre-ordained destiny is activated, comes to know the True Lord. We should know that He alone is the true God through whom we receive what is written in our destiny. ਤਾਂ ਤੇ ਉਸ ਸੱਚੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨਾਲ ਸਾਂਝ ਬਣਾਈਏ, ਤਦੋਂ ਹੀ
ਮਨੁ ਭੂਲਉ ਭਰਮਸਿ ਭਵਰ ਤਾਰ ॥ man bhoola-o bharmas bhavar taar. The mind, deluded by doubt, buzzes around like a bumble bee. “(O‟ my friends, the human) mind wanders around like a black bee (flying from flower to flower), (ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਭਾਵ ਦੇ ਕਾਰਨ) ਕੁਰਾਹੇ ਪਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਮਨ ਭੌਰੇ ਵਾਂਗ ਭਟਕਦਾ ਹੈ, منُبھوُلءُبھرمسِبھۄرتار॥ من بھولہو

ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿਸਬਦੁਸਮ੍ਹ੍ਹਾਲੀਐਸਚੇਕੇਗੁਣਗਾਉ॥ gurmukh sabad samHaalee-ai sachay kay gun gaa-o. The Gurmukhs dwell on the Word of the Shabad. They sing the Glorious Praises of the True Lord. Through the Guru’s word we should remember Him and sing praises of the eternal (God). ਗੁਰੂਦੇਸਨਮੁਖਹੋਇਆਂਹੀ (ਪ੍ਰਭੂਦੀਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹਦਾ) ਸ਼ਬਦ (ਹਿਰਦੇਵਿਚ) ਸੰਭਾਲਿਆਜਾਸਕਦਾਹੈਤੇਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰਹਰੀਦੇਗੁਣਗਾਏਜਾਸਕਦੇਹਨ। گُرمُکھِسبدُسم٘ہ٘ہالیِئےَسچےکےگُنھگاءُ॥ سبد سمہالئے ۔ دل میں بسا ہے ۔
ਇਕਿਨਗਨਫਿਰਹਿਦਿਨੁਰਾਤਿਨੀਦਨਸੋਵਹੀ॥ ik nagan fireh din raat neeNd na sovhee. Some wander naked day and night and never sleep. There are others who roam around naked day and night and don’t even sleep. ਕਈਬੰਦੇਦਿਨੇਰਾਤਨੰਗੇਪਏਫਿਰਦੇਹਨ, ਕਈਸੌਂਦੇਭੀਨਹੀਂਹਨ; اِکِنگنپھِرہِدِنُراتِنیِدنسوۄہیِ॥ ۔ لگن ۔ ننگے ۔ دن رات ۔ روز وشب۔ نیند نہ سوہی ۔ سوتے ہیں ایک بالکل ننگے دن
