ਸਦ ਹੀ ਨੇੜੈ ਦੂਰਿ ਨ ਜਾਣਹੁ ॥ sad hee nayrhai door na jaanhu God is always close to us; never feel that He is far. ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਸਦਾ ਹੀ (ਸਾਡੇ) ਨੇੜੇ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਨੂੰ (ਕਦੇ ਭੀ ਆਪਣੇ ਤੋਂ) ਦੂਰ ਨਾਹ ਸਮਝੋ। سدہیِنیڑےَدوُرِنجانھہُ॥ ندری ۔ نظر عنایت ۔ بھگتا ۔ عابد۔ لیہو۔ ملائے ۔ ملا لیتا
ਤਿਸ ਦੀ ਬੂਝੈ ਜਿ ਗੁਰ ਸਬਦੁ ਕਮਾਏ ॥ tis dee boojhai je gur sabad kamaa-ay. He alone puts out this fire, who practices and lives the Guru’s Shabad. Only that person’s (fire of worldly desire) gets extinguished who leads life in accordance with (Gurbani) the word of the Guru. One alone puts out this fire
ਆਪੇ ਸਚਾ ਸਬਦਿ ਮਿਲਾਏ ॥ aapay sachaa sabad milaa-ay. The True Lord Himself unites us in the Word of His Shabad. On His own the eternal God unites us to the Divine word of the Guru. ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪ ਹੀ (ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ) ਸ਼ਬਦ ਵਿਚ ਜੋੜਦਾ ਹੈ, آپےسچاسبدِمِلاۓ॥ خدد اخود ہی سچے کلام سے
ਮਾਰੂ ਮਹਲਾ ੩ ॥ maaroo mehlaa 3. Raag Maaroo, Third Guru: ماروُمہلا੩॥ ਨਿਰੰਕਾਰਿ ਆਕਾਰੁ ਉਪਾਇਆ ॥ nirankaar aakaar upaa-i-aa. The Formless Lord created the universe of form. It is the formless God, who has created this visible form of the world. ਆਕਾਰ-ਰਹਿਤ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੇ (ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਤੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ) ਇਹ ਦਿੱਸਦਾ ਜਗਤ ਪੈਦਾ ਕੀਤਾ, نِرنّکارِآکارُاُپائِیا॥ نرنکار۔
ਹਰਿਚੇਤਹਿਤਿਨਬਲਿਹਾਰੈਜਾਉ॥ har cheeteh tin balihaarai jaa-o. I am a sacrifice to those who remember the Lord. I am a sacrifice to those who remember God. ਜਿਹੜੇਮਨੁੱਖਪਰਮਾਤਮਾਦਾਸਿਮਰਨਕਰਦੇਹਨ, ਮੈਂਉਹਨਾਂਤੋਂਕੁਰਬਾਨਜਾਂਦਾਹਾਂ। ہرِچیتہِتِنبلِہارےَجاءُ॥ ہرچتہہ۔ جو یاد خدا کو کرتے ہیں۔ تن ۔ ان پر ۔ بلہارے ۔ قربان۔ قربان ہوں ان پر جو خدا کی یادوریاض کرتے ہیں ਗੁਰਕੈਸਬਦਿਤਿਨਮੇਲਿਮਿਲਾਉ॥ gur
ਜਿਸੁਭਾਣਾਭਾਵੈਸੋਤੁਝਹਿਸਮਾਏ॥ jis bhaanaa bhaavai so tujheh samaa-ay. One who is pleased with Your Will is immersed in You. To whom Your will seems sweet, he gets absorbed in Your Naam. ਜਿਸਮਨੁੱਖਨੂੰਤੇਰਾਭਾਣਾਭਾਜਾਂਦਾਹੈ, ਉਹਤੇਰੇ (ਚਰਨਾਂ) ਵਿਚਲੀਨਹੋਜਾਂਦਾਹੈ। جِسُبھانھابھاۄےَسوتُجھہِسماۓ॥ جسکو تیری رضا سے ہے محبت وہ تجھ میں محو ومجذوب رہتا ہے ਭਾਣੇਵਿਚਿਵਡੀਵਡਿਆਈਭਾਣਾਕਿਸਹਿਕਰਾਇਦਾ॥੩॥ bhaanay vich vadee vadi-aa-ee bhaanaa kiseh
ਸਤਿਗੁਰਿਸੇਵਿਐਸਹਜਅਨੰਦਾ॥ satgur sayvi-ai sahj anandaa. Serving the True Guru, one obtains intuitive bliss. Serving the true Guru we obtain inner peace, poise and bliss, ਜੇਗੁਰੂਦੀਸਰਨਪੈਜਾਈਏਤਾਂਆਤਮਕਅਡੋਲਤਾਦਾਆਨੰਦਮਿਲਜਾਂਦਾਹੈ। ستِگُرِسیۄِئےَسہجاننّدا॥ سہج انند۔ رؤحانی و ذہنی سکون اور سرور۔ سچے مرشد کی خدمت سے روحانی وذہنی سکون پاتا ہے ਹਿਰਦੈਆਇਵੁਠਾਗੋਵਿੰਦਾ॥ hirdai aa-ay vuthaa govindaa. The Lord of the Universe comes
ਕਰਤਾਕਰੇਸੁਨਿਹਚਉਹੋਵੈ॥ kartaa karay so nihcha-o hovai. Whatever the Creator does, surely comes to pass. whatever the Creator does, that happens for sure. (ਉਸਮਨੁੱਖਨੂੰਨਿਸ਼ਚਾਹੋਜਾਂਦਾਹੈਕਿ) ਜੋਕੁਝਪਰਮਾਤਮਾਕਰਦਾਹੈਉਹਜ਼ਰੂਰਹੁੰਦਾਹੈ, کرتاکرےسُنِہچءُہوۄےَ॥ نہجؤ ۔ ضرور خدا جو کچھ کرتا ہے لازمی ہوتا ہے ਗੁਰਕੈਸਬਦੇਹਉਮੈਖੋਵੈ॥ gur kai sabday ha-umai khovai. ਹੁਕਮੇਸਾਜੇਹੁਕਮੇਢਾਹੇਹੁਕਮੇਮੇਲਿਮਿਲਾਇਦਾ॥੫॥ hukmay saajay hukmay dhaahay hukmay mayl milaa-idaa. ||5|| By the Hukam of Your Command, You create, and by Your Command, You destroy. By Your Command, You unite in Union. ||5|| In His will, He creates, in His will He destroys and in His will He brings about the union with Him through the Guru.||5||
