ਮਾਇਆ ਮੋਹਿ ਸੁਧਿ ਨ ਕਾਈ ॥ maa-i-aa mohi suDh na kaa-ee. and has no awareness of this mistake because of his love for materialism. ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਮੋਹ ਦੇ ਕਾਰਨ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਰਤਾ ਭਰ ਭੀ (ਇਸ ਗ਼ਲਤੀ ਦੀ) ਸੂਝ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦੀ। مائِیاموہِسُدھِنکائیِ॥ سدھ۔ ہوش۔ عقل اور اسے مادیت سے محبت کی وجہ سے اس غلطی سے
ਘਟਿ ਘਟਿ ਵਸਿ ਰਹਿਆ ਜਗਜੀਵਨੁ ਦਾਤਾ ॥ ghat ghat vas rahi-aa jagjeevan daataa. the Life of the world, pervading in each and every heart. ਕਿ ਜਗਤ ਦਾ ਸਹਾਰਾ ਦਾਤਾਰ ਹਰੇਕ ਸਰੀਰ ਵਿਚ ਵੱਸ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ। گھٹِگھٹِۄسِرہِیاجگجیِۄنُداتا॥ عالم زندگی اور زندگی بخشنے والا ہر دلمیں ہے ਇਕ ਥੈ ਗੁਪਤੁ ਪਰਗਟੁ ਹੈ ਆਪੇ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਭ੍ਰਮੁ ਭਉ ਜਾਈ
ਆਪਹੁ ਹੋਆ ਨਾ ਕਿਛੁ ਹੋਸੀ ॥ aaphu ho-aa naa kichh hosee. By one’s own effort, neither anything has been done, nor would be done. ਜੀਵ ਦੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਉੱਦਮ ਨਾਲ ਨਾਹ ਹੁਣ ਤਕ ਕੁਝ ਹੋ ਸਕਿਆ ਹੈ ਨਾਹ ਹੀ ਅਗਾਂਹ ਨੂੰ ਕੁਝ ਹੋ ਸਕੇਗਾ। آپہُہویاناکِچھُہوسیِ॥ ۔ خود انسان میں کرنے کی کوئی توفیق نہیں ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮੁ
ਏਕੋ ਅਮਰੁ ਏਕਾ ਪਤਿਸਾਹੀ ਜੁਗੁ ਜੁਗੁ ਸਿਰਿ ਕਾਰ ਬਣਾਈ ਹੇ ॥੧॥ ayko amar aykaa patisaahee jug jug sir kaar banaa-ee hay. ||1|| Throughout the entire universe there is only one reign and one command of God; age after age God has been assigning everyone to their tasks. ||1|| ਉਸੇ ਦਾ ਹੀ (ਜਗਤ ਵਿਚ) ਹੁਕਮ ਚੱਲ
ਗਿਆਨੀ ਧਿਆਨੀ ਆਖਿ ਸੁਣਾਏ ॥ gi-aanee Dhi-aanee aakh sunaa-ay. This is what the men of divine wisdom and who practice meditation tell others. ਸਿਆਣੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਤੇ ਸਮਾਧੀਆਂ ਲਾਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਭੀ (ਇਹੀ ਗੱਲ) ਆਖ ਕੇ ਸੁਣਾ ਗਏ ਹਨ। گِیانیِدھِیانیِآکھِسُنھاۓ॥ عالم فاضل اور دھیان و توجہ دینے والے کہتے ہیں اور سناتے ہیں ਸਭਨਾ ਰਿਜਕੁ ਸਮਾਹੇ ਆਪੇ
ਆਪੇ ਮੇਲੇ ਦੇ ਵਡਿਆਈ ॥ aapay maylay day vadi-aa-ee. God Himself unites one with the Guru and bestows glory on him, ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪ ਹੀ (ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਗੁਰੂ ਨਾਲ) ਮਿਲਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਇੱਜ਼ਤ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ਦਾ ਹੈ। آپےمیلےدےۄڈِیائیِ॥ خدا خؤد ملاپ عنایت کرتا ہے ਗੁਰ ਪਰਸਾਦੀ ਕੀਮਤਿ ਪਾਈ ॥ gur parsaadee keemat paa-ee. and through the Guru’s grace,
ਮੋਹ ਪਸਾਰ ਨਹੀ ਸੰਗਿ ਬੇਲੀ ਬਿਨੁ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਰ ਕਿਨਿ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਇਆ ॥੪॥ moh pasaar nahee sang baylee bin har gur kin sukh paa-i-aa. ||4|| The worldly love does not become anybody’s friend; who has ever attained inner peace without lovingly remembering God through the Guru’s teachings. ||4|| ਜਗਤ ਦੇ ਮੋਹ ਦੇ ਖਿਲਾਰੇ ਕਿਸੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ
ਅਤਿ ਰਸੁ ਮੀਠਾ ਨਾਮੁ ਪਿਆਰਾ ॥ at ras meethaa naam pi-aaraa. The sublime essence of the beloved Naam is utterly sweet. ਪਰ ਉਹ ਨਾਮ ਬੜਾ ਹੀ ਰਸੀਲਾ ਬੜਾ ਹੀ ਮਿੱਠਾ ਤੇ ਬੜਾ ਹੀ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਹੈ। اتِرسُمیِٹھانامُپِیارا॥ جو نہایت پر لطف اور مٹھاس سے بھرا ہوا ہے اور پیار بھراہے ਨਾਨਕ ਕਉ ਜੁਗਿ ਜੁਗਿ ਹਰਿ ਜਸੁ
ਸਚ ਬਿਨੁ ਭਵਜਲੁ ਜਾਇ ਨ ਤਰਿਆ ॥ sach bin bhavjal jaa-ay na tari-aa.
